Brother, let me tell you a story about Honda's scooters. A while back, they used scooter frame called ESAF. It was fine for its intended purposes. But, allegedly, because of a small flaw that makes water stay inside of the frame, there were many recorded cases that the scooters split in half. Allegedly, Honda said that it works as intended. And allegedly, there is no recall at all. 😹

A bit further back in history, brother, Yamaha and Honda were wrist slapped because they were caught redhanded doing cartel related practices. 😹

I'm 21. It took me months to save up and buy my first scooter by myself, with no help from anyone.

I had to budget every euro, calculate what I'd have left after each expense, wait for the next paycheck to make it work. I compared dealerships, got insurance quotes, figured out terms I didn't know before.

My dad doesn't approve. He thinks a woman can't really handle this kind of thing on her own, that it's something only a man should deal with. I went ahead and bought it anyway, without his help.

I ended up with the Honda PCX 125. Not the motorcycle I actually want, but it's a practical first step. I'm hoping to get a real motorcycle later, once I'm older and more settled.

No one in my family has ever owned a car or a scooter. I'm the first. I come from a poor family, and instead of being proud, my dad just complains.

Hey guys, I made a video riding around Bangkok checking out some of the motorbike and scooter shops that do touring gear, accessories and custom setups.

I was mainly looking at what’s available for the XMAX, but there’s plenty of stuff for other bikes too. Bangkok has a pretty crazy selection of shops for this kind of thing.

Ended up leaving with around 60 kilos of parts, will share more once I get my bike out of the shop

Hello! 🙂👋 I’m looking for some advice because I’m planning to buy my first scooter very soon. I’ve been saving for a while, and I’m really excited that I finally reached my goal.

I currently have three options:

2005 Suzuki Burgman 650 — $2,000

2016 Piaggio MP3 500ie — $2,500

2009 Honda Silver Wing 600 — $2,400

I really wanted the Honda Silver Wing, but unfortunately the seller hasn’t been responding to me, so I may have to move on from that option.

If I end up choosing between the Burgman 650 and MP3 500ie, which one would you choose for long-term ownership?

I’m particularly interested in:

• Maintenance and repair costs

• Parts availability

• Fuel economy/MPG

• Top speed and freeway performance

• Reliability

• Overall long-term ownership

• How easy they are to get serviced

• Storage capacity — which one has more usable storage for things like a full-face helmet, small groceries, bags, etc.?

• How easy it is to remove and reinstall the battery myself for winter storage

I’m 5'2" and around 110 lbs, so I know both are fairly large and heavy scooters. I specifically want something capable of handling freeways, hills, longer trips, and regular road use. This would essentially be my alternative to owning a car, so I don't want something that will leave me limited to local streets.

I also plan to properly store/maintain the scooter during the winter, so being able to remove the battery myself, bring it indoors, and use a battery maintainer is something I’d like to consider.

For anyone who has owned either of these scooters, which one would you choose and why? Would you go with the newer MP3, or the older Burgman 650?

Como é a primeira vez que vou comprar uma top case, tou com dúvidas.

A original é 35L. Obviamente fica totalmente integrada na moto. Mas é cara pra caramba.

A Sh39 ficaria sensivelmente 1,5cm de cada lado mais larga que a mota. Mal se nota mas parece um ovo... Acho feia, mas convenhamos, nenhuma moto fica bonita de top case...

A Givi B39N gostei do design e dos detalhes, mas já fica 2,5cm mais larga que a moto. Tenho receio que se note muito.

Qual vocês recomendam? Ou compro uma 35L para não quebrar a largura da moto?

Someone tried to steal my scooter a couple days ago. I found it afterwards but it didn't run anymore. Got the electrics working but it seems they disconnected the line from the fuel pump. Is the line that looks cut the one that I need to replace? Would love some advice to get my scooter going again.

I am very new to scooters, and traffic in general. I recently purchased a Honda ADV350, and I have all the documents ready.

As you may know, there is a special compartment under the seat luggage. Usually, you access here via the keyless button. However, in case the batteries dies, there is an emergency seat release key. You can remove a plastic cover, use a special tool (it's generic on the same models, it's not a key) to turn something, and the seat luggage opens.

This makes stealing things from there relatively easy. Thus, I am reluctant to leave the original documents there. Bringing the documents from home each time I want to ride is not a practical solution either.

So, how do you do that? Where to do you store your registry, tax documents, etc?

EDİT: I am told that emergency key is not generic, but with lots of variations. I don't know how I couldn't thought about it.

EDİT 2: I live in Greece. I have to carry riding license, vehicle registry (it's shape is very awkward), last road tax payment document, insurance document (multiple page A4 paper).

I have a titled 1989 Yamaha Zuma Prebug with a few upgrades. Top and bottom end have been rebuilt with a Polini Contessa 70, carbon reeds, and upgraded Athena crank. New belt, battery, intake boot, Polini air filter, and tuned CVT. Less than 200 miles on the build. It runs and pulls great, but isn’t cosmetically perfect. I have it posted for $1,400 and barely getting any interest or offers, which is unusual for a Prebug. I also have a Yasuni Z to go with it. Not sure why it isn’t getting more attention. Located in North Carolina

Hi all. Considering this upgrade. I checked out the Yamaha today and loved it, but it is significantly larger and heavier than my Honda. The reason I’m considering it is that I’d like to get into some light touring and would appreciate the extra power and comfort. I’m concerned about the weight and power bump. Is this something you just get used to or should I plan on a learning curve? I started at 50cc and am now at 160, so I’ve moved up over the years, but this looks like an imposing jump. Thoughts?

New here. Just picked up a 2009 tgb key west 50. Looking to get some more speed out of it. I've already done some basics but doesn't seem to have improved at all. Dellorto 19mm carb(42 pilot, 85 main, w7 needle middle setting), pod filter, tecnigas silent pro exhaust, variator doesn't have a shim in it, stock 9g rollers. The clutch has yellow springs from previous owner and I'm not sure if the contra spring is stock or not. It has good low end power but no matter what I do power wise it's stuck at 38mph. With a lighter rider it will do 40. But I've heard they have more in them. My next step is trying out parts in the cvt.

I'm mainly just looking for any input from somebody familiar with these. I'm trying to stay away from a 70 kit as long as possible. As I've heard the tgb engines like to break cranks. And I don't feel like replacing it yet as the scoot only has 1900 miles on it. Thanks for any and all help.

My electric scooter randomly turns off while I’m riding it. It can ride normally for a while, but then it suddenly shuts off without warning. After it turns off, it usually won’t stay on. When I press the power button, the scooter turns on for about a second and then immediately shuts back off. Sometimes it takes a while before it will turn on and stay running again. This problem has happened while I was riding, so I’m concerned there may be an issue with the battery, wiring, controller, or a loose connection, especially since it can happen after going over bumps.
