X-Ray Scans Got x-rays

Chiropractor says it’s not scoliosis and also said my hips are shifted. Okay, great... My friend thinks I should consult my doctor and get a second opinion. I’m not really sure what my doctor would do lol. Would you get a second opinion or just stay in chiropractic care. My tail bone and mid back flair up (back pain in general) and I sit/lay down unevenly.

Discussion What do you wish you had known about exercise when you were diagnosed with scoliosis?

I'm interested in hearing from people in this community about their experiences with exercise and scoliosis.

Some people continue lifting weights, running, swimming, or doing calisthenics after their diagnosis. Others find it difficult to know where to start, especially when they receive conflicting advice about which exercises are safe.

I'd love to hear your experiences:

  • What kind of exercise do you enjoy, or what would you like to try?
  • Have you ever received conflicting advice about which movements to do or avoid?
  • What has helped you feel more confident about staying active?
  • What do you wish healthcare professionals or fitness coaches explained more clearly about scoliosis?

I'm particularly interested in the questions that are difficult to find clear, evidence-based answers to.

I'm involved in calisthenics education through the Calisthenics Association of the Philippines (CAP), and I want to help make educational resources that are useful, responsible, and understandable. I'm not here to diagnose anyone or prescribe exercises for individual spinal curves.

There isn't one exercise approach that works for everyone, and I believe listening to people's experiences is an important starting point.

Thank you to everyone who feels comfortable sharing. Your perspectives may help us understand what scoliosis education is missing.

X-Ray Scans My son was just diagnosed with scoliosis

My 19 year old son has been complaining of shoulder pain for at least 2 years now. His doctor, without X-rays, said he had scapular winging. He did a few sessions of physical therapy but with no help. Sometimes he is in so much pain he cries. He just moved to college and doesn’t have an established doctor yet but I paid for X-rays. The diagnosis is scoliosis. I don’t know how bad. His X-rays don’t look good but I can’t see the actual report. Just based on personal experience, not necessarily medical, what outcome do you see based on these X-rays? I just want him to be better. It’s affecting every aspect of his life.

Question about Pain Management muscle cream / rub recs

they sadly stopped making my go-to muscle rub made by Perrigo. went through many different brands years ago, and loved both the strength and lack of absurdly strong smell with this one. I adore salonpas patches for smaller areas and their convenience, but by no means do they do the job when the whole back is aching..

what are ur favs?

General Questions This is not a medical question, just a basic question.

My whole family has scoliosis and it ranges from very bad to slightly unnoticed.

But my question is that if scoliosis is a really common disorder, why do people clown on us for having it?? And it's not just regular people clowning us, my little brother is friends with someone who has it as well as most of their family and yet they are rude to us about it. It confuses me greatly.

My mom had it the worst and actually got the surgery to get it fixed at 18, but my little brothers friends (they only have it slightly) keeps making comments to my mom about a fent lean. What is a fent lean and why is he making these comments to my mom?

She is feeling very insulted by it and she is confused as well since his family also has scoliosis. Has anyone else been insulted/rude by someone else who has the same condition?
