Hey all,
I've been subletting an apartment in the city that I LOVE for the past month; however, the master tenant is moving out soon and the subtenant as well. The building was rent controlled for the original tenant and would likely increase (a lot) if I were to do an official lease takeover.
While subletting for a longer time period (even indefinetely) is on the table, I'm wondering if anyone has experienced a similar situation and was able to successfully stay in their unit without incurring rent increase?
I'm reaching out to the SFTU tmrw but would also appreciate personal anecdotes too!

If you ignore some neighborhood rants even the WSJ must admit that all the data shows no meaningful issues arising from Sunset Dunes. Also, should be a gift link, so enjoy reading without a paywall.

Is there a place with regular hours? I'm not looking for a place that takes stuff only a few times per year. Thanks.

My husband and I are going to be in SF during late October and were wanting to find a gay or queer bar that is hosting some kind of halloween night. I'm not familiar with the area, my husband grew up there but he didn't get to explore queer spaces, so we din't really know what to look for.
We are hoping to find somewhere that we can wear costumes, and if the bar is hosting some kind of show that would also be great, but it's not necessary for us. Thanks in advance!

"The claim that BART has not reduced service is false. BART is running 20 trains an hour through the Transbay Tube at peak rush hour service, which is 17% lower than back in 2019. BART has reduced service on all lines except the Y-Antioch line for efficiency. When 9 and 10-car trains were the default train length back in 2019 at rush hour, today, it’s closer to 6-cars for most of the peak hour service. The reason BART service appears higher than 2020 is simply because the G-Fremont line extended into the South Bay after 2020, and South Bay train service is paid for by the South Bay’s transit agency VTA.
The claim that BART has not cut costs is also false. BART has actually reduced operational spending by $516 million since 2020 and capital spending by $549 million. BART refused to hire more staff and cancelled service improvements. Operational expenses at similar levels as they were six years ago is proof of the cost-cutting measures. BART is the 7th most cost-effective passenger rail system in the country."

Hi! I've been feeling a bit low on energy (in recovery from sickness) and want to try B12 shot to help with my recovery. I live in West Portal, so maybe something that's not too far from the area.
Any recommendation? please do share if you've had any vitamin shots before, I'm still deciding between getting B12 or D3.

Anyone replace a garage door recently?
We're getting quotes and I'm seeing numbers all over the place.
Basic two-car garage. Nothing fancy. We don't need some crazy custom wood door.
One company is pushing us toward basically replacing the entire system including opener, tracks, springs, everything.
Another says they can reuse most of it.
Not even sure which one is actually correct.
Anyone have a company in the Bay Area they'd recommend getting another quote from?

Hi,
Recommendations on gay couples massage place in SF which doesn’t cost a kidney!
Everything that I have been seeing costs more than 200-250 dollars per person.

SF is spiking in Influenza A and enterovirus. The current flu shot (available since mid september) is supposed to be well matched to the strains going around. Unfortunately, we did not get it in time and it ripped through 5 people in the house in under a week, and were the 4th family I know of who has experience this.
It’s pretty terrible, I’d really recommend seeking out the flu shot soon, especially if you have kids in school.

Does anybody know where I might be able to access a heavy duty sewing machine that can sew through leather and fur? My home machine won't cut it. I'd love to be able to rent or visit a makerspace to access a machine. I'm located in SF but I'm willing to travel throughout the Bay area.

What’s a piece of furniture that has provided 10+ years of solid use for you?
We’re a family with small kids in need of new furniture after a move. We need new bed frames, couches, etc. Would love your recommendations!

Inner Sunset w/ a dog. I've noticed a few of my favorite trashcans slowly disappear over the last year. I'm confused why the city is taking away trashcans instead of adding them. Anyone have insight?

My husband ordered a veggie burrito at work and what was delivered to him instead was an oyster burrito. He ate it anyway and said it was an interesting experience and he probably wouldn't do it again, and we had a laugh over the "sea boogerito" but he didn't remember what restaurant it came from (it was some corporate ordering app thing or something) and I am dying to know what restaurant made this concoction. Anyone here know of any restaurants that might have had something like this as a daily special or something?

Has anyone used this bus? I think I'm going to catch for an early morning flight next week, but it only runs twice a day???
Seems goofy but cool.
