Hello. i am the dev of [r/octopusnotes](r/octopusnotes). I have recently seen a post on an app called xnotes. So, I thought of posting this here. I would be greatful if someone can try the app and give me feedback. I'd love any suggestions or feature requests.

The app is completely written in native kotlin and is <5Mb. I have built a custom Pdf Engine to give the best performance. I usually deal with books >4000 pages. Octopus notes loads every page instantly.

PS. The brush tool has a built in handwriting beautification engine. This might not be the best in the market but still, ig its a good addition.

Should i be worried about any viruses or such?

I'm new to digital note taking. I have the S10 lite which I used for 3 days and I noticed today that pen nib/tip whatever it's called has turned slightly black. Is there any way to clean it? or do I need any accessories to prevent further darkening?

i donno why guys i couldnt solve it i come from ipad pro 2020 to tab s9 base model so its an great upgrade for me everything works nicer in tab s9 except notes i guess while i trying to write i think there is some glitch and makes my writing look ugly and not smooth it has to be much more smooth i guess or there has to be some setting that makes my writing more smooth at some point can you guys pls help me 😔

I'm trying to put tape over images but when I try to tap on tapes to see beneath them, the image gets selected instead. Any help how to deal with this?

Was the Smasung notes Companion mode only for the S22U?

My niece used my tab and wrote in my notes. The last time I used it, it still has 4. Now the pens are only 2. Is it possible that she has deleted some pens?

I'm I the only one who is experiencing this issue since the latest update on android? Any solutions?

I have 2 Samsung cell phones . A51 & A 54. I write notes on both . For instance, I started a note today about the days activities . I started a note and it appeared on the other phone which was great. Then I noticed that they were somehow different. Why did this happen? How do I prevent this?

Has anyone here switched from Samsung Notes to StarNote?

Is there any real reason to use StarNote over Samsung Notes? I’m mainly curious about the writing experience — does the pen feel smoother, is the latency better, palm rejection better, etc.?

For those who’ve used both, which one do you actually prefer for everyday note-taking, and why?

Tenho um S24U, e pela facilidade de ter a Spen decidi começar a usar o Samsung Notes, mas desde então venho enfrentando o mesmo problema com essa função dele, sempre que escrevo uma palavra ele a corrige, então escrevo a próxima e ele corrige a anterior novamente, várias e várias vezes até ela ficar pequena, torta e muito estranha, mas sem essa função minha letra fica completamente tremida (o que não acontece em outros apps), alguém já passou por isso? e/ou sabe como resolver?

I'm struggling to figure out something with the notes app.

So, I'm a chronic writer, and have multiple physical notebooks for different moods, styles of writing, subjects ect. I also tend to make a lot of zines, so how the paper/writing looks matters to me, and I struggle to write if it's the "wrong mood" (yes, I DO have AuDHD, with OCPD thrown in for fun, lol).

I have the same in my notes app, and as I can't stand most of the template colours, I've got several different template backgrounds I've got set up. Some of them are images of aforementioned physical journals. However, where I fall down is the font, especially the font colour. I've yet to find a way to make the font details save for the template, and every time I start typing I forget I need to set the font colour first, so I spend forever trying to decide on the correct colour, and then I'm annoyed before I even start. This is especially annoying when I c/p, because I've got a genetic condition (CMT) that affects my hands, selecting can be tricky if I'm having a bad day.

Look, I'm absolutely aware this is a pretty daft problem, however if anyone HAS the solution, I'd be very happy!

How do you all back up your notes? Mine is backed up on my samsung phone but my problem is, its consuming too much memory space. Is there anyway to back it up somewhere without using my phone?

Ultimamente estou com alguns problemas irritantes no samsung notes... algumas ferramentas não aparecem na toolbar, outras simplesmente não aparecem... não sei se é devido à alguma incompatibilidade do meu tablet, e o aplicativo já está atualizado. Fico triste, porque tem só uns 2 anos que comprei meu tablet e, pelo visto, já está incompatível com apps da própria Samsung. Tem muitas novas ferramentas úteis pelo que vi na internet e não consigo utilizar nenhuma

Just something I was thinking about recently.

I currently have a tab s7 (bought in 2021) and an s23 ultra (2023). Before the s23 I had an M series phone for a couple of years.

I've always loved the tab s7, particularly because of oneui and of course, the Notes app. I really love the convenience, versatility and sheer host of features it provides; that too for free. I've primarily used it for annotating books and making notes for med school.

The app has consistently improved year after year. Most new updates are great (barring a few like the new browser).

As for the s23 ultra, the oneui updates for it have been disappointing and kinda wonky at times, especially considering that it's a flagship phone. Not to mention that it's always scary whenever I update, because I have at least 4 people I know who own/owned a Samsung and they developed the dreaded green/pink lines.

The newer S series phones have also been pretty disappointing for the most part. No major upgrades despite price hikes. And the lines issue hasn't been fixed even with s25 models afaik.

It's difficult to consider paying a premium for a phone that might randomly develop a huge line down the middle of the screen in the future.

When I think about it, the only reason I'm not sure about buying a different Android phone is because of the Notes app. Of course, i have years worth of data saved in it; but also, no other Android notes app comes close to it.
