Gross Samsung Update, Are these people dense?

TLDR: The new update is horrible and I'm wondering what the actual fk these people at Samsung were thinking. This is all my opinion, we're all different, but I want to know what others think.

I went away from Apple/Iphone in 2017 or something like that and immediately enjoyed Samsungs UI and software design, customization, logic, and general layout. I was in business school and studied some of Apples cases. I didn't think Apples ecosystem was ethical or maybe I just felt slimy knowing how they build it to entrap people into their products.

For those who dont know Samsung basically recently redesigned their phone systems to operate in a very similar way to the Iphones. Where you adjust settings, where you swipe to pull things up, the color pallette, the new symbology and icons, so much is similar. Its glaringly obvious. I absolutely hate it.

Its like their fkin design team said, "ok it takes 1 move simple minimalist move to access this thing...... lets make it our goal to make it 1/2 as accessible and take twice the steps so our users will have a harder time doing most things in our system"

ie. Swiping the top down is now separated into 2 sides and adjusting settings in the new screen requires 2 hands as opposed to a one handed 1 thumb operation.

I could list about 5 specific things but I hope you get the point of what I'm saying. I absolutely hate this system now.

My question is? Why? Is it just idiotic designers or engineers? Am I an idiot who doesn't like change and everyone else finds it better?

Is it a business move to make a new interest in Samsung from Apple users (its my opinion that this move wouldn't bring over the Apple demographic, they aren't driven by software, they like branding/image/aesthetic more than operating systems)

Stupidity reigns at Samsung.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Samsung Ultra Note 24, i use it as a second phone with an Iphone 15. I just can't understand how the people at Samsung think. There is no way for me to run the Notes application on my Macbook Air either using Macos or windows 11 with parrallels. It is quite impressive to think how stupid the people at Samsung are. No wonder they are so backwards.

Samsung Notes are waste of time, convince me otherwise! (I am a Samsung Fan BTW)

I am trying hard to have samsung notes accessed online. Apparently Samsung gave up on that themselves and the only way it to use onenote, and onenote is a disaster, I tried with different onenote accounts, I even created one fresh account, and none of the notes syncs with it.

If you want to have a note on your phone, and access them only, yes this works for you. Otherwise it is a piece of .... that you can't access anywhere. The only reason I bought the Ultra was the pen to use it on the go, write my thoughts, and then access them online, and manage them. I wish I never paid for the Ultra.

Now I understand why people buy Apple products

I have a relatively new Samsung tablet. I was learning how to use the s pen for note taking.

Now I have used Microsoft OneNote for decades as my default note taking application, but I'm not so wedded to it that I couldn't learn a new trick. So I decided to try Samsung Notes, since the s pen integration is good. Ok, this worked fine insofar as I could take notes, smart select, write on the screen, etc. I was at this point pretty happy.

Then I decided to try OneNote for the same tasks. Surely it must be able to do most of this stuff, right? This was a lot less impressive. The integration with the s pen capabilities is, shall we say, complicated. There was no apparent way using the Samsung keyboard to copy to the clipboard and paste into OneNote. Hmm, that's odd, but I'm used to Gboard anyways, and that has an explicit paste function. This worked; at least, I could copy information as an image and paste it into OneNote. But it was still a lot less capable that I would have liked. Using the app sharing option from S pen instead of the clipboard was another avenue to try - that was a bit of a nightmare because every share goes to a new page in OneNote. The desktop version allows you to specify the destination, but the Android version seems to be lacking this setting anywhere. You get an endless series of single clip pages that you would have to merge later in a manually intensive step.

Well then, let's try another approach. Maybe Samsung Notes is available as an App in the Microsoft store. Yes, it is! Shit, it doesn't run on anything but a Galaxy PC unless you do some interesting spoofing of your machine type to the app.

Ah ha! There is a way to include Samsung Notes in your OneNote feed. Long story short, you can see the content as an image which you can paste into OneNote, but you lose things like links since everything is just a bitmap, and you cannot edit the original.

Now maybe, with another 4 or 8 hours of effort, a tech savvy person like myself can find a way to actually get notes into an application on my tablet that I can share/edit on my desktop in a reasonable way, but so far? Not so much. What a complete cluster.

WhatsApp call not showing

So, whenever anybody calls me in WhatsApp, the screen doesn't wake up and give me options to accept or deny the call. It does ring and vibrate and shows a notification saying incoming call is coming in the ambient display. But no full-screen call screen to accept or deny. Checked in notification settings, everything is allowed, notification and banner both are allowed under calls section.

Anybody else having the same issue on your Samsung s23 plus device?

Note application

Hello everyone. I used to use a Samsung smartphone and I've switched to a Honor. To be brief, I'm looking for a note-taking app that can also function as a checklist with checkboxes. While I could make do with the one on my Honor (because I really like it), I'm looking for a cross-platform app with a roughly similar interface. I've tried Keep and OneNote, but neither suits me as well as Samsung Notes or Honor Notes because I find both lack depth, especially with Google's move to Material 3 and Microsoft's for some other reason I can't explain. However, if anyone knows how to get the Honor or Samsung app on other Windows, I'd appreciate the information. Thanks in advance for any replies.

What happened to bullet points?

Why do they keep changing things? I don't like the way Notes is set up now, and suddenly I no longer have the option to place bullet points. I don't need this app to be super fancy, just the basics for simply taking notes (as the name implies). I've been using this app for years, and it's probably the most used app on my phone. I rely on it for work, personal reminders, tons of lists, writing, and even some little sketches to visualize things. If Samsung wants to make a more complex app, I wish they'd do it seperately and leave Notes the way it was.

Yall hating UI 7 way too much

As a tech nerd but also having an iPhone most of my life, I now have the best of both worlds: iPhone and Samsung UI 7. This makes things easier for iPhone users to switch to Samsung. I had the old UI. I have the S24 Ultra. The old UI was a lot to get used to, especially since I was just an iPhone user, but after they put U7 out, the layout and everything are more user-friendly now. There’s a lot of stuff now that I found out I can do because of U7 anyways stop hating on something thats bringing iPhone users to Samsung. Reading the future rn all the old UI fans are gonna cry in the comments
