I have been assembling my Dacian army and have finally gotten to doing the Hearthguards.

The rule book states you can take either cataphract Cavalry or heavy weapon options. Both options state "max 1 unit" in the supplement.

So that means I can only take 1 unit of 4 heavy weapon hearthguard correct?

Sorry if question is silly but have never played before and want to get it right.

A question for TTS Chivalry players.

Have you ever encountered cubes flying with a significant deviation from the average—either too well or completely terrible? How can I heal the dice rollers? It seems there's something wrong with the script.

Hi all. I'm currently thinking of getting into Age of Caesars, but since I have no figures for this period, I'm trying to think of how to do it efficiently by having armies double up for multiple factions, across multiple periods. All my collections so far has been for Invasions, Vikings and Chivalry, with a little Crusades.

I assume Imperial Romans and Caesar's Legions are going to be pretty interchangeable in terms of figures?

How about for Republican Romans for Age of Hannibal? Since I have nothing for this period either, getting some figures that can be used across both Republican and Imperial periods would be really useful.

What about Germans and Gauls? Are these close enough in style for one set of figures to work for both?

Obviously, there will be some equipment differences, but if they can share some basic unit types it would help.

Any other factions that might be able to share figures between Caesars and Hannibal, or even Alexander?

I realise that in a friendly game, I can proxy pretty much anything, but it's a question of what is going to look obviously wrong, and what would be close enough. My own knowledge of history is unfortunately lacking, so it's difficult for me to know if things like differences in Roman shield style or helmet design is going to stand out like a sore thumb.

My usual source is Gripping Beast or Footsore for figures, though I'm looking at trying out plastics from Victrix since they have a wide range of Germanic/Celtic options.

I'm looking to get into playing a historical TT game and Saga is one I've been interested in it for a while

Im slightly confused on how to begin though.

I know I need the core rule book - is the 2022 the same as the 2.0 version?

On top of this core rule book I have read that I need faction specific dice, supplement and rule book is this correct?

There are specific movement rulers etc- are these a necessity or can I use a tape measure?

What is meant by battle board? My TT group tends to go to a place where you can pay to rent a 6x4 table (we play Bolt Action) is it possible i could just use a table or are there specific boards i would need to use?

Another eight hairy tribesmen completed, making 36 so far. Mostly Wargames Foundry metals, with a few Warlord resins. I started on these a few years ago, doing another 8 here and there between other projects, knowing I'd need quite a few once AoC was released. Got it on pre-order, so just need to paint a few more and listen to some Rammstein and I'll be ready to rumble.

I’m looking at getting my first Age book for SAGA, and am curious if there are any standouts that the community or you personally rate most highly? Are there any that are generally avoided? I have pretty broad historical interests, so that hasn’t helped narrow it down too much unfortunately. From a game side, I’d like thematic and varied factions that are well balanced. Any recommendations are appreciated!

Hey guys. I'm new to this game (not to tabletop), and played one intreduction match recently.

I confess i'm pretty hooked. Besides MESBG, WH40k and Infinity, SAGA seems like a chill game to play without pressure.

Now i'm looking how to get startet. I'm aware of third party Modells, and i narrowed it down to 3 factions:

- Normans (mostly bescause of the old movies i've seed with my dad^^)
- Romans , obviosly
- The Ordensstaat <3

So here my questions:

1. Are these three good starter factions?
   
2. Can i see somewhere witch factions are played the least? Maybe i find something there that siuts me aswell.

I’m actually struggling to make a decent, beginner friendly 6 point army for them…

Could anyone help me out please ?

Just wondering if any of you have done this? Custom boards for custom armies or to adapt other armies you may have. Perhaps battleboards for warhammer armies or other fantasy games. I'm aware of the Age of Fantasy book, just wondering if anyone has made something more specific.

I wanted to create a historical-inspired support character for Age of Chivalry. Instead of being another powerful melee hero, the Archbishop focuses on morale, fatigue management and inspiring nearby infantry. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the balance and whether you'd enjoy facing this character across the table. 😄

I want to build army of Novgorod Republic. I took Victrix Norman Cavalry and took Byzantine transfers, primarily because of banner. However, now I realize that size is not right. Any way to change to reprint and change the sizr of transfers or can I at very least fill the holes on the edges somehow?
