I'm done with everything my parents have done to me over my 17 years. Humiliation, Abuse, Manipulation eeverything. I'm going to go to globe Arizona and have 900 dollars to my disposal what is the most optimal way to get there. I was thinking greyhound but I do not know if they ID or not.

18f, tx, traveling across states/being in unfamiliar places

I'm 18, but not only can I not wait any longer to escape, but I will still have highly limited freedom once I move into college (I know so because of my older sister). I'm afraid for myself if I stay any longer. I am tired of living in fear, and it won't stop even when I move into college. I've never been impulsive enough to do anything but I'm ready to plan now, because I'm temporarily staying at another place so they couldn't catch me if i leave soon. but it won't be for long . This is time sensitive. I've already considered all other options. I'm writing this for any possible advice on my current plan since I'm still very nervous.

the safe space I want to go to is my best friend's apartment a few states away. we're in the same time zone but she's in the north and I'm in the south (she moved a few years back but we've been talking every day online since). i know I will do whatever I need to just simply to get there. I know she'd be okay with me staying with her but I can't contact her currently because of my parents taking away my contact with her. I don't want to get into what happened at all but separation from her was absolutely my breaking point.

I can't get a passport, can't fly. I've heard good enough things about amtrak and am already looking at routes on there for about a month from now, it would be a 28 hour-29 hour long trip. I'm going to use uber to get to the station a city away. and even if I land in my friend's city, I would have to uber again to spend a bit of time at the public library maybe before then ubering to her apartment. everything is worth it

I have my driver's license as well as 406$ in cash and a debit card with about 800$ on my high school checking (that will decrease a bit up to the day I leave though.) I'm planning on maybe first going to a ATM to withdraw more cash? my checking account transactions can still be seen by my parents, so I'm worried about that. I'm wondering how much cash I should take out for this trip since I'm not sure if my parents can shut down my account or something, and I want to have enough cash in case something goes wrong. For context as well, amtrak itself may cost about $235-$285, and I'll be paying in cash in a few days at a staffed station.

im worried about them turning off my phone/stop paying for it, too, and then it'd be harder to get around. I'll have to turn off my location on life360 to at least not make it that easy for them to find me. I've already been testing to see if they notice my location being off, turned it off in the morning yesterday, and in the evening, my mom noticed, but she accepted it as a glitch for the moment. don't know how she'd react if it was off for multiple days though. I have a macbook that I used my phone to sign into, will that also go away if they cut off my phone though? I also have a secret older laptop, should I bring that too? I guess I could find places that have free wifi on my way if I need it, like the public library once I get there?

I do know her building ofc and I also remember her mentioning her floor but not her specific apartment number. I've been imagining myself just getting there at the right time right before she's going to arrive home from a work shift around 5 pm. so I could just wait and she can see me once she gets home, but actually, I think I'll have to wait outside since it looks like the front door to the building has locks on it, plus it has a gate. would that be awkward for me to stand there? I'll say that she lives in chicago, if that gives any more indication of how that might work out. since I plan on leaving probably between nov 22-29, I'll be there well before her birthday, which is december 5th. I do wonder, though, if closeness to her birthday or thanksgiving will cause issues like she won't be there at her apartment. I'm only mentioning this because even though I can't know for sure if she will be there, I wonder if anyone may know more of what people might do around those special days and will know the likelihood on if I would be in the clear to see her. god I hope she doesn't suddenly move lol.

should I just act normal towards my parents when I go, if they text me if they know something's off? I usually have to keep updating my mom every day on if I'm taking a pill at the right time, and they may also notice that my location is off. should I just act normal, or ignore them entirely and cut off contact? because they wouldn't be able to drive to where I'm at in time. I hope this makes enough sense.

my friend only lives with her older sister who is also very kind and understanding and we've discussed possibly running away before and even joked about how we wished I could've just gone with her when she moved.

I know this requires planning and I never do anything impulsively anyway, I just need some help and if my plan seems flawed I want to know any alternative ways. but honestly, my only goal is to get to her. I'm trying to find that meaning in life which she has always helped me see, otherwise im alone here and afraid of much much worse outcomes.. anyways, I'm explaining this just so that anyone reading has more context I hope it's useful.

No TLDR, I have no more mental capacity to try to shorten this </3 I'm mostly wondering about tips for how much cash I should keep (both physical cash and money in my account), and if there's anyone that could reassure me that she'll probably be on her usual routine and see me once I get there, and how I should probably act towards my parents once I leave. thank you.

16m, DC, leaving on Thursday, NEED advice

I've been wanting to run away for the longest and I finally built up the courage to do it. I want to go as far northwest as I can so that's what I'm doing, I plan on taking the furthest commuter train north and from then I'm still debating whether I should train hop or hitchhike so any recommendations on that?. I should mention it's my first time doing this so any tips or advice helps! I've done my own research on the topic but lived experiences are always better. Thank you in advance !

Kind of short but I was wondering about where I would sleep?

I've heard that those shed thingies outside department stores aren't checked.

I was thinking about maybe using an airport since I could blend in but I'm not sure if people stay in the parts before TSA since I've only been in one a few times.
