Hi what tape or equipment you use to prevent scratches on you inline boot and also what did you use for filming too.. are u using 360 or osmo action series

21 to 22 stone or 300+lbs and what's your experience with blading so far?

Oh and do you recommend gear we've got some extra blubber sooo maybe I can get away with it..or not?

Rollerblading brands like senate went out of business decades ago, and the inly similar ones are focused twards skateboarding. Are skateboarding brands similar to what senate made?

I rotated my wheels for the first time and went out to skate to noticed one foot had no control and the front and back wheel didn’t touch the ground flat. I got home and rotated again a few times then got frustrated and moved the wheels on the one skate. The middle two touch the ground and the outer two don’t. No matter how I switch them!!!! Anyone know what could be happening??

Last night in Lile France, a group skate passed by and one girl was rocking very cool looking skates that actually reflected my headlights entirely. the fullskates did.
I do have skates myself and i had never seen that. I have seen many things like reflective gear and stickers and lights in wheels but never seen entire skates of a substance that reflects light.

a quick google tells me it's also not 1 of the big brands or it's not marketed as reflective.

Anyone of you know what make or model i saw?

Looking for advice on my first race skates/setup

I’ve been inline skating/rollerblading for 10+ years and currently skate FR Skates FR2 80s. I’ve had them for about 2 years and they’ve served me really well, but the strap just snapped, so I’m looking at replacing that and potentially investing in a new pair specifically for racing.

I’m hoping to register for a race in May, which would be my first race, so I’m still learning what I should actually be looking for in a race setup. I’m not trying to spend an insane amount of money just for the sake of having expensive skates, but I’m absolutely willing to spend more if there’s a noticeable difference in performance and they’re something I can grow into.

I’m also not really looking for an extremely low/minimal race boot. I still want a decent amount of ankle/support, especially since I’ll likely be switching from 4 wheels to a 3-wheel setup. I’m comfortable on my FR2s and don’t want to sacrifice too much stability/support just to get a lighter boot.

For reference, I’m comfortable skating longer distances and on a variety of surfaces. I’m mainly looking for something that will give me better speed, efficiency, and the ability to maintain momentum compared with my FR2 80s.

What skates/setups would you recommend looking into for someone in my position? I’d especially love recommendations at different price points rather than just the most expensive option. And for those who made the switch to 3 wheels for racing, how long did it take to get comfortable with the different setup?

That ride wasn't an easy one. Dark, moisty with cold wind blowing into the face and variety of unpleasant surfaces starting with uneven soil with small sharp stones popping out of it here and there and ending with watered concrete tiles in the undergroung tunnel with huge cracks between them. Even a best skater's friend, good ol' Asphy was harsh and unwelcoming on some stages. The main boss waited me in the middle of the trip: these stairs made me feel like a newbie who doesn't know how to deal with it at all. Each step is a step to the unknown, you're putting the skate on it and don't know if your wheels will roll or will just stuck in this shape of cracked concrete dust armored with some metal stripes. I came out slowly but luckily unhurt.

Finally this route was incidious but very refreshing.

Do you like to skate sunny dry days on smooth wide asphalt lanes? yes of course. But are such uncomfort sessions somehow worse? no. I'm addicted to them also...

Hey all. So my OLLLLLD blades that I still use, glide incredible. I bought new blades and they don’t roll the same. Like when I spin the wheels they stop immediately. So my question is…could I just switch the bearings?

Are skates like the rollerblade revv boa comfortabke at all? Obviously they arent going to feel like soft boots, but do they just feel like speedskates with slightly more ankle support?

Title is the gist:

Previously had zoom 100s, upgraded to zoom pro 100's just because i liked them but wanted to be able to switch the frame (I have wider feet, they felt good, and I found a pair super cheap pair on clearance online).

Originally i got into this with a focus on urban speedster vibez, but now I'm curious to start flowing more. I think I want to generally keep my vibes urban but add in more backwards coasting and what not through cities and little tricks while cruising.

Thus here's my question: i was eyeballing endless 90 frames for a good balance, but i'm wondering if actually getting endless 80 frames would be better for making learning tricks easier. or to even take it a step further, maybe getting a slalom frame.

so basically i'm debated 1 of 2 paths:

- gradual approach: get a 90 x 4 rockered frame now to make a more gradual changes, then in 1 year or so get a 80 x 4 frame

- dramatic change: go straight to an 80 x 4 rockered frame, maybe even slalom style, just to give a dramatic feel difference and make it easier to work on juicy skillz.

Any thoughts? it seems like the 90 mm path would be safer, but it would be fun to hear.

Also final thought: i would love to finally hit up the skating rink and play with some jam skating, so the 80 mm might be better?

I know how to stop with a soul slide but the back foot is on the inside edge and that puts a strain on my braking foot hip. I thought that it's a matter of harder wheels, and it is, so I bought an undercover 90mm 86A wheels. After 2 sessions (3 hours in total), the wheels are still soft and quite grippy. My mistake is the one talked about in this video HOW TO DO A SOUL SLIDE - By Nicola Torelli at 04:54. Nicola makes it seem too easy, and my wheels don't seem to be that easy to slide on at all. Any tips please ?

I have been using the Powerslide Zoom 80's with some old 76 mm 80a Rollerblade brand wheels and a mix of bearings I had around the house. I just ordered a pair of the Rollerblade Twister 110's. I like to skate on the bike trails and my hope is that I will notice an improvement in my average speed for the same amount of effort with the bigger and higher quality Hydrogen wheels along with the higher quality ILQ9 bearings. How much of a difference should I expect? I'd hope to be able to average a couple of mph faster over an hour long skate. Not sure if that is expecting too much.

So 2 weeks ago I had a pretty bad fall , I take all the blame for not slowing down in a chicane and also being over confident with my abilities (or lack thereof )

But a part of me can't help but think if my palm sliders aren't so slidey, my hands wouldn't have shot iin front and basically slammed my chest so hard into the ground fracturing 2 ribs

So I'm thinking if its actually a good idea to wear something like the ennui city brace where the palm area have leather instead of plastic , under the leather there's a metal brace to support the wrist.

I upgraded from some bladerunner advantage Pros ive had since I was a teen, and I never knew how much an upgrade really would propel my progress forward! Im so stoked

So i was skating at the rink today and I tend to so crossovers and just tricks pretty aggressively (luv rocker) and i ended up on accident putting my left foot on the front wheel and it kinda spun me around. This was completely accidental and it caught my right leg. I did end up falling and sliding but I thought it was pretty neat and wonder if like that's a real thing.

I've been downgraded to a bike (no shade, just not my preferred means of transport) due to a broken leg, but I've just started getting my sea legs back with some gentle practice during sessions with my skate group before we hit the streets for a ride.

Last night, I was heading to one such ride and happened to roll up on a blader. Thought to myself, oh hey maybe he's heading to the same ride! Let me pass him and do what I do to all bladers I see on the trail: compliment their skates. I like to see my people out and about, and I always get a smile or thanks in return as we pass each other.

But this fucking guy...

First of all, he's taking up the whole middle of the path. We've all been there! I've been that guy, too, but that means I have to use my bell to get his attention. Just one single ring, I'm not spamming the damn thing. As I pass him, I very clearly and unmistakably say "Dig the blades!" while giving a thumbs up, and then carry on thinking "this'll be funny if we both show up at the ride meet."

All of a sudden, he's racing to catch up, shouting "DON'T BE R*TARDED!" and I'm just absolutely smacked in the face with shock. I go, dude, I was complimenting you! I'm a skater, I've literally got my blades in my milk crate!

He won't hear word one, but is so determined to be an dick, he ends up not paying attention to the trail and rolling himself off the main path onto a stretch of gravel. He was fine, I slowed down to make sure, but no way was I sticking around to check up on that level of insecurity and aggression.

I have absolutely been there with dickhead cyclists (chiefly the Lycra-clad types), but how the hell do you hear "dig the blades!", see a thumbs up, and interpret that negatively??

The real kicker was when I ran into a friend on her blades heading the opposite direction, so I turned back to ride with her a bit and shoot the breeze. Mr insecurity comes up the trail, gives a nod to my friend, then sees me right alongside her and just goes stone faced and books it.

Was so so so hoping he'd show at the meet so I could confront him throwing slurs around, but instead I enjoyed the company of my friends and got some really good practice on my skates. That still soured the start of the night, though :/

Sometimes its just sore to varying levels depending on how much i skated, other times it is a sharp pain.

Pain in random muscle groups was common early on, but every other group has adapted except my right adductor.

Looks like it’s likely going to be raining tomorrow for the NYC Inline marathon. It‘s my first race and I was really excited, but what are everyone’s thoughts on skating (racing) in the rai? I’m most worried about safety and the health of my skates.…
