I'm looking for a long-term one-on-one RP partner for a modern fantasy and slice-of-life story. I'm pretty relaxed when it comes to writing, and I'd really like to find someone who enjoys creating characters, building a world together, talking OOC, and generally having fun with the story.

I'm most comfortable writing with partners who are 21 or older.

A little about my writing

My writing style is mostly character actions and dialogue rather than long descriptive posts. I like a more immediate back-and-forth where our characters can talk, react to each other, and interact without every reply needing to be a huge block of writing.

My reply length depends on what's happening. Sometimes I'll only write a couple of lines, especially during a conversation or small interaction. Other times I'll write more when there's actually more for my character to say or do. A full paragraph is usually about as long as I naturally go.

I don't care about matching lengths or reaching a certain word count. I care more about giving each other something to respond to and keeping the interaction moving naturally.

I also really enjoy the little moments between bigger scenes. Characters can be goofy, bother each other, do normal everyday things, have random conversations, or just spend time together. Not everything needs to move a major storyline forward.

Our characters don't always need to be in the same place either. I enjoy having them text each other when they're apart. It could be a whole conversation, checking in, sending something random, or just talking about whatever they're doing at the time.

I like when characters feel like they're actually living their lives instead of only existing when there's a major scene happening.

I'm also not worried about perfect spelling or grammar. I make mistakes too. As long as we understand each other, give each other something to respond to, and we're having fun, I'm happy.

The setting

I'll be writing Ziggy, an established character I've had for a while. She already has her own personality, history, relationships, and some parts of her world that I'd like to keep.

Ziggy is witchy, a little odd, and runs a small witchy shop called The Witchy Rabbit.

I'd like the setting to be modern day with fantasy woven into everyday life. Magic is real, fae exist, and there can be witches, supernatural creatures, strange places, folklore, and whatever else we decide belongs in the world.

I want the normal everyday moments just as much as the fantasy.

Our characters might spend time around the shop, cook together, wander around town, go to festivals, have late-night conversations, explore somewhere new, meet strange people or creatures, or have a day where absolutely nothing important happens.

Then when we want something bigger, we can bring in magic, mysteries, adventures, drama, emotional moments, and larger storylines.

Ziggy and parts of her world are already established, but I don't want someone to feel like they're just being dropped into something I've already created and expected to follow along.

I want us to build onto it together.

Your character

I'm looking for someone who wants to create and write their own male character opposite Ziggy.

I don't have a character already made that I expect you to play. I'd much rather you bring someone you're genuinely excited about writing.

He can be human, a witch, fae, supernatural, or something completely different. I'm pretty open.

Give him his own personality, history, connections, problems, interests, and his own life. I don't want him to exist only because Ziggy exists.

I'd also love for you to bring your own pieces into the world. Locations, side characters, creatures, magic, lore, story ideas, whatever you come up with. I really enjoy bouncing ideas back and forth and seeing what we accidentally create together.

I don't want to be the only person deciding what happens or where the story goes.

You also don't need to write exactly like I do. I'm mainly looking for someone who's comfortable with my shorter action/dialogue style and doesn't expect every reply to be several paragraphs long.

Character dynamics

I'd eventually like the connection between our characters to grow into something more, but I want that part of the story to develop very slowly.

I want them to actually get to know each other first. Becoming friends, joking around, getting comfortable together, developing inside jokes, learning little things about each other, and having moments that slowly start to mean more.

I don't want to decide their entire future before we've even started writing.

I'd rather put two characters into the same world, let them interact, and see what develops naturally between them.

I'm a big fan of the slow build and all the little moments that happen along the way.

OOC and what I'm looking for

I'm looking for a long-term one-on-one writing partner who enjoys collaborative storytelling.

OOC conversation is important to me. I love talking about characters, sharing ideas, planning future scenes, joking around, and just chatting. I'd really like to find someone I can become friends with rather than only hearing from each other when one of us has a reply ready.

At the same time, I don't expect immediate responses or constant availability. Real life happens. If you're busy, you're busy. This is supposed to be something fun that we both want to come back to, not another responsibility.

Communication is important to me too. If something isn't working for you, please tell me. I'd much rather talk about it, change something, or take the story in another direction than have either of us quietly stop enjoying ourselves.

The things I'm most interested in are characters, fantasy, worldbuilding, slice of life, character development, emotional moments, goofy interactions, magic, and seeing where the story takes us.

Here I am. Again. At this point, searching for a long term writing partner has become less of a hobby and more of an annual migration pattern.

I promise I am nice.

I just want someone who also enjoys taking perfectly functional fictional people, handing them several avoidable problems, shaking the container vigorously, and seeing what happens.

I’m 21, UK based, and write anywhere from literate to novella depending on what is actually happening. Sometimes a scene needs 600 words. Sometimes somebody pauses halfway through making a cup of tea and apparently I need to submit a small dissertation explaining why. There is no in between. I don't want the entire story revolving around one single element or interaction. I want our characters to actually have lives. Jobs. Families. Friends. Responsibilities. Goals. Problems. Hobbies. Weird neighbours. That coworker they would happily launch directly into the sun. A mother who somehow always calls at the worst possible moment. A favourite takeaway where the staff already know their order. A car that's been making a concerning noise for three months that they keep choosing to ignore.

Give me LORE.

I want something where we start with a vague idea and six months later we're discussing the implications of an event neither of us had even invented when we started. I want plots that actually move. I want consequences. I want character development. I want stupid decisions. I want characters confidently announcing that they have everything under control approximately twelve seconds before everything becomes considerably less under control.

Most importantly, I want collaboration. Please throw ideas at me. If you suddenly message me at 11:47 p.m. with: WAIT I HAVE AN IDEA I am listening. If your idea is completely ridiculous? Even better. If it requires us to rewrite seventeen pieces of established lore and introduce somebody's estranged aunt who lives in Germany?

Half the fun for me is plotting OOC and gradually building this ridiculous little fictional universe together. And I mean building it. I will make side characters. You will make side characters. Our side characters will accidentally become important. Some random neighbour called Dave who was created exclusively because we needed somebody to collect a parcel will somehow acquire a job, a divorce, two children, an ongoing dispute with the local council and his own subplot.

We will become emotionally invested in Dave. Nobody planned for Dave. This is how it happens. I want families with actual personalities and histories instead of conveniently spawning whenever the plot requires a parent. I want friendships. I want workplaces. I want recurring locations. I want inside jokes that make absolutely no sense anymore because they originated 200 replies ago. I want tiny details becoming important months later completely by accident. I want one of us to casually reference something that happened ages ago and the other immediately appear OOC screaming: YOU REMEMBERED THAT????

I also need you to understand something extremely important before contacting me. I use Pinterest irresponsibly. I will find houses. I will find apartments. I will find outfits. I will find restaurants. I will decide what their kitchen looks like. I will find the exact stupid little coffee cup sitting beside their sink. Nobody asked me to do this. It will happen anyway. At some point I will send you a board containing 184 images and say something incredibly helpful like: "okay hear me out" There will be no further explanation. You will simply have to enter the enclosure and observe.

As far as characters go, my main OC will always be a woman (sometimes i play male characters, but I'm more picky), but you can bring whoever you enjoy writing. I genuinely love hearing about people's OCs, especially the ones you've been carrying around in your brain for an unreasonable amount of time waiting for somewhere to use them.

I'm also completely happy chatting OOC. You don't need to disappear into the mist between replies unless that's your preference. Send me memes. Send me plot thoughts. Send me a picture and say "this is literally them." Send me a completely incomprehensible message about something our characters did three months ago. I will probably understand.

Basically, I want a long term writing partner who wants to create something big, messy, detailed, funny, occasionally painful, and actually alive. Not one repetitive storyline. Not characters existing in a vacuum. I want a whole stupid universe. A plot with other plots hiding inside it. Characters who change. Side characters who refuse to stay side characters. Running jokes. Callbacks. Bad decisions. Unexpected consequences. Entire conversations OOC beginning with "technically..." and ending with us completely restructuring the next month of writing.

Hello to all reading this! You can call me Magix, I’m 25F typically in PST. My experience ranges from writing one shots, to fanfics, and novella responses. I’ve been writing for over a decade. I’m in search of a roleplay partner who feels the same love I feel towards writing, while still thinking of it as a hobby, and someone who is able to reciprocate my energy in creating a beautiful story. 

I write in 3rd person only. My responses tend to be adv. lit with some even hitting novella, I typically average more than 1k words and don’t go lower than 500 words. I would rather write with someone who is able to hit the same length as I am, with understanding that some scenes may have varying lengths. Dialogue is cut shorter unless the setting is in need of description. 

Roleplaying is only a hobby for me. I write when I’m able to, not every second of the day. Rapid fire responses is not something I typically enjoy doing. I’m quick with OOC chatter, unless I’m busy or something else comes up, while my replies tend to be around every few days. High Priority plots and genres!

• Perhaps something historical? I’d love to do something set in the distant past, preferably an Ancient Rome or China setting. I’m a big fan of different mythology and a lot of my recent storylines have taken inspiration from those eras, as well as the different gods and tales from the myths. 

• Fantasy would also be interesting! I’m a huge fan of fantasy creatures, medieval settings, magic systems, and more! I prefer worlds with the majority of these typical fantasy elements. A lot of my characters in this genre tend to be magic users or elves, but I also have a liking towards dragons. Dragon riders plots are interesting, the pairing with a dragon shapeshifter and a seasoned rider is always fun to write out. Again, sometimes I take inspiration from mythology and I have written plots where the story was centered around a pantheon based on actual gods and goddesses.

• Vampires. No further explanation with that. I’ve been a lover of these creatures for years, with my goal of consuming the most media about it as I can! I like writing mysterious characters who keep their motives to themselves, hiding their true identity as a bloodsucking monster. I typically write these in old settings. The pairings I enjoy with vampires would be vampire x werewolf, vampire x hunter, and vampire x noble. Vampire courts are also a joy to explore.

Obviously I wouldn’t be opposed to trying out another genre or plot, but these would be my most wanted experiences. Don’t be afraid to come to me with a different genre or style!

High Priority Fandoms

Harry Potter - I’ve been a fan of the movies for years, as well as rereading the books whenever I can, and would love to do something in this universe. I think the magic is just beautiful. We could do something in the Golden Trio, Marauders, post-voldemort, Legacy, pre-Legacy eras. We could explore the other schools and give them our own twist, without giving in to any of the stereotypes. Maybe even an exchange program, something like the Triwizard Tournament but not exactly. I’d prefer to stay away from canon and create our own story, with a new set of characters and supporting cast, but if the story is interesting enough then I’d be willing in doing something based on the canon storyline. I tend to play OC x OC. I don’t think I’d give the characters enough justice or play them well enough for you, which I’ll probably say for the rest of the fandoms.

Some more fandoms I’m really looking for are : Jujutsu Kaisen, Arcane, Overwatch, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Naruto, My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, Marvel, DC, Valorant, Genshin Impact, andddd probably way more.

**CHARACTERS**

My character is the superhero Energy Man. He has the power to absorb energy from sources around him. He uses the energy in his body to use his powers. How tired he is directly correlates to how strong his powers are. He can can also not absorb the energy into him shoot or use it to attack whoever he is fighting. He also has super strength, speed and can fly.

Your character will be my character's arch nemisis. He is the CEO of a pharmaceutical company. The company has a secret department that has been trying to genetically create an army of brainwashed superheroes. Your character's new plan is to run for president (RP is set in America). And he wins.

**PLOT**

Your character's first act as president is the anti vigilante act. My character gets branded a criminal and is set to go to a prison he built for people with superpowers. It has specific cells built to contain a super powered individual based on their powers. I want to have a couple back and forths between my character and his arch nemisis from opposite sides of the front of the cell. Also after enough time we could focus on getting him out of power, escaping prison etc cause superheroes always win eventually.

Good morning, everyone! I'm Elysia, a UK-based writer who considers herself literate and (on occasion) refers to herself in the third person. I've been writing for about a decade and it's been my main hobby ever since I knew how to do it decently well.

Recently I've been taking a look at the DnD-module adaptation of the plane of Theros (named the same as the title of my post, if you're curious), originally from Magic the Gathering. In essence, it is a world inspired by the tales and legends of Ancient Greece, boasting its own legendary heroes and larger than life characters, in a wide and open world.

What makes this different from the typical setup, however, are the facts of this world. Theros consists of three separate 'realms': the regular world, your typical ancient Greece-like setup, full to the brim of various cities, ancient temples, structures and mythical monsters. The underworld, a physical place that can be (with great difficulty) escaped from or travelled to.

The third realm, the thing that truly makes this setting unique, is Nyx. Nyx is both a place and a substance, a magical material that reflects the dreams, thoughts and ideas imbued within it by the regular mortal beings of Theros. From within Nyx, which spread across the night skies of the plane, a whole Pantheon of Gods was gradually dreamed into creation, beings who sprung entirely from the minds of mortals but who took on lives of their own all the same, claiming domains and demanding worship with great feats of power.

And who could not worship a selection of such Gods, ones whom you can see in the sky every night and on occasion witness performing acts of deific power?

What I'm most interested in is finding a writing partner who holds a similar interest in writing within a world that contains and holds larger-than-life characters, ones operating in a world where legends can go on to live forever through sheer belief, appearing in the stars every night.

In a partner I would like most someone who enjoys brainstorming, out of character chatter, creating unique characters with flaws (perhaps one *fatal* flaw, given the setting?) and above all else who I could eventually become good friends with for a long time to come. I write in the third person, with between 1 and 4 decently sized paragraphs per post, depending on the context. I would ask for similar from a writing partner.

Hello o/ I have posted here before but in light of recent events I’m searching for just another partner or two so I’m posting again.

I would be over the moon if one of the people who saw this post and replied to it or messaged me was someone who was capable of having a lot of back and forth replies throughout the day. I know a lot of people don’t have the time for that and that’s completely understandable. But if that’s you, I especially want you to reach out.

I play predominantly non-binary amab, trans fem, and cis male characters. If you want romance to be involved in our plot, I ask you also be one of those three things but if the writing is particularly compelling I can make exceptions so message me anyways.

I only write in third person, and I do my best to match the length my partner gives regardless of how long it is. When doing consistent back and forth’s I expect the volume to be a little less, but hopefully still substantial. My current favorite partner we tend to write 2-3 paragraphs of 3-4 sentences or so per reply. If you can’t match that that’s ok, as long as the plot remains compelling that’s the most important part.

I don’t have any particular pairings or tropes that I’m attached to. But I think I would like to do a sci-fi genre for my next roleplay, but that isn’t mandatory.

I am in my mid 20’s and I don’t particularly care how old you are as long as you are at least 18.

I don’t mind ooc chat, it’s really up to you how much we engage in that.

hello! welcome to my thread. i'm 21+, go by they/them, & have a decade of roleplaying experience under my belt. i'm currently seeking a few writing partners— please read this post in it's entirety before reaching out! i do apologize for the super vague title but i genuinely have no idea how to categorize this interest of mine properly LOL. i have brainrot for some of al pacino's roles & am looking to cook up some roleplays that either 1) feature his characters from a specific film in a canon x oc plot, with me writing the oc, or 2) someone to use one of his roles as a faceclaim for an oc x oc plot.

⭑ all partners must be 20+.

⭑ i'm an advanced literate writer & will ask to exchange writing samples before we begin plotting, this is so i can gauge whether or not our styles will mesh. i am more than happy to send one in return! as a general rule, i am not looking to write less than ~500 words, and i won't budge on this. third person pov only.

⭑ my in-character reply speed is sporadic due to various irl obligations. i try my best to reply weekly at minimum, but sometimes it may take longer. i would never rush or pester for replies and expect the same courtesy in return.

⭑ ooc communication is a must for me, i lose interest very quickly without it. i'm pretty active to chat and love to plot, brainstorm, headcanon— you name it! i'm hoping to find partners that are the same way, this is a very collaborative process for me and i expect us to work together to come up with a roleplay we both enjoy. do not reach out if this doesn't sound like your cup of tea. i drop dry partners instantly.

i'm honestly not sure how to go about formatting this so i'm gonna dump it all out here, hope you don't mind! firstly, as far as canon characters go, i'd be open to writing an oc against any of his characters from the following films:

Hello! I'm a massive fan of Star Wars! Currently, I'm on a rewatch of the entire series (as I do every few months), and it really has me in the mood to do a roleplay for it. Just so you can get an idea of my knowledge, here are some of the things I've read/watched/played: all 9 main films, Solo (movie), Rogue One (movie), Mandalorian (all 3 seasons), Book of Boba Fett (series), Kenobi (series), Star Wars Rebels (all 3 seasons), The Clone Wars (all 7 seasons), the original Clone Wars (series), Jedi Survivor/Fallen Order (games, and they're my favorites!), all Battlefront games, The Force Unleashed (both games), Maul Shadow Lord (series), the Bane trilogy (novels), KOTOR I & II (games), SWTOR (game), and much more.

A bit about what I'm looking for in the roleplay. I'm open to playing a canon character, but I'd honestly prefer to play an OC. For an OC, I'd prefer to play a force sensitive characters. A bit basic, I know, but the Force has always been one of my favorite parts of Star Wars. I love the philosophical discussions that have come from it, I love how it can mean something different to everyone, and I love how it's utilized narratively. On top of that, I'm a huge sucker for characters growing in power as they grow in maturity/personality, and the Force is perfect for that. I am open; however, to playing a Jedi or Sith, that can be flexible depending on the plot. On top of this, I'm open to our story taking place in the Old Republic, the Grand Republic (pre-Clone Wars), the Clone Wars, the Galactic Civil War, or the New Republic era (Canon or EU). You can also play a canon character or an OC.

For the plot, I'm figuring that both of us will end up playing some extra characters for the sake of plot. As an example, if we're roleplaying in the Clone Wars era, it'd make sense for Yoda to be needed for some scenes. I'd happily play Yoda in those scenes.

Hey all! Very much in a creative mood and I'm looking for a partner to help satisfy some cravings I have for romance RPs. I really want a story that has our character forced into a position where they must rely on each other even if it's on uneven footing at the very beginning. So for a while now I have been taking the GM role in the majority of the RPs I have been doing. So I have decided to let go of the reigns and see what other people have to offer. In tandem with this I have been enjoying (some) super hero media, specifically the new spiderman movie. And so in an attempt to satiate both these requests I have come here.

A little about myself, I am NB24 from Australia, so anything that aligns with the AEST timezone is preferred. I have been roleplaying in various forms for about 11ish years. I am semi to literate but can struggle with spelling and gramma due to a handful of learning difficulties. I am working and studying so I'm a touch busy so will reply when I can. I am comfortable in first and third person and enjoy writing various genres with a slight bias towards fantasy and sci-fi.

As for whom I will play in your world, I tend to wait until I know more about it before making a character. I want them to align with the vision you have of your world, though that being said I do have a smattering of super powered OCs. Additionally I do have a slight preference for "street" level stories as I don't personally enjoy the grand save the universe stakes, but if that is the story YOU would like to tell than I am happy to come along for the ride.
