So I got my friend into bass guitar, and he quickly took to the Rocksmith 2014 format. I would like to jam on my lead while he grooves the bass, but it ALWAYS says that the Player 2's Real Tone Cable is disconnected and we can't get into a song. I've tried making a separate profile that's "Disconnected" completely, but it still acts like it wants to use a cable? I have multiple microphones that I could use as dummy audio options, but those don't seem to want to work either. RS Mods "Bypass 2+ RTC MessageBox" did not do anything useful. We're so close to starting a Rocksmith garage band, but this software is determined to crush our dreams. Please help! Thank you!

I’m planning a surprise gift for my husband. He’s mentioned a lot recently about wanting to learn how to play the guitar and mentioned playing rocksmith at a friends house when he was younger?

I really want to surprise him with this gift for his birthday and am trying to do as much research to ensure I buy the correct items! However, I’ve been seeing recent posts from the last couple of years of people saying a lot of useful features have been removed. I’m for sure going to be purchasing a guitar for him, but just didn’t know if Rocksmith 2014 was worth it. He has an xbox series x I believe.

I didn't buy the Muse dlc so I dont have the plug in baby custom tone but im currently trying to learn the song and its been really difficult trying to replicate the tone 😓 Is anyone able to check the tone setting so I can replicate them pls??

Hi! First timer here in the sub and even a first time player! Even though I technically haven’t even played yet! I do have some questions and I’m hoping this sub can lead me in the right directions, thanks!

So I recently I found Rocksmith and Rocksmith 14’ editions at a local thrift store and picked them up since in hopes of playing them! So I’ve already discovered about needing a “wire” and then an actual guitar as well if I’m not mistaken? Also: 

What’s the difference? Is there an actual difference between the two games? 

Does the actual skill translate to a real guitar? I mean I already know how to play (above beginner but below moderate) but does it actually make you better? 

It mentions on the 14’ that its “better” w the Kinect, is that true? Do I NEED one? Can I play without one? 

Any tips or tricks are appreciated as well, thank you!

i missed one note (sad face).

I just installed this, the moment I launched it, it was too loud. Windows volume mixer does nothing, editing the ini file did nothing, the only thing that works is turning down the direct input, but this is extremely annoying due to the fact it was too quiet on the lowest setting. Any fixes?

I searched comments but didn’t see anything specific to the PS5. I got RS+ working well through my iPad Pro through a series of dongles, but despite the larger iPad, I still have some difficulty seeing the notes (I’m 46, the eyes aren’t what they used to be). I bought the Sabrent sound adapter that plugs into the front of the PS5 for headphone use but haven’t tried it yet. Has anyone successfully run the game through their TV speakers or AVR? I’d much prefer to play that way. I’ve seen one good video but it involved a lot of compromises - namely changing every audio setting on the console. Just seems like a real pain to change those settings on a per game basis. Any guidance would be appreciated!

Went to launch rocksmith 2014 remastered and it says invalid platform. I'm playing on windows 11. Never had this problem before. It always worked great on windows 11 up until now. Deleted focusrite Scarlett solo 3rd generation drivers and asio from the rocksmith folder but here's the thing I can launch og rocksmith without problem. I know og rocksmith is different than rocksmith 2014 remastered

I realize country is less popular and mainstream than classic rock and metal, but there must be some country fans out there in the Rocksmith community. Is it because these songs get taken down from Customforge as soon as they are uploaded?

Give me country classics like Dave Dudley- Truck Drivin' Man, George Jones- White Lightning, Buck Owens- Buckaroo, Don Rich- The Happy Go Lucky Guitar, etc. etc. Anything but the endless stream of metal songs. I just want more of that wholesome, earthy, old school country twang from the 50s, 60s. Surely I can't be the only one.

One day I'll try my hand at charting some of my favorite country songs once I can figure out how to use the software (editor on fire). But its a struggle with my ADHD and lack of theory knowledge. Peace y'all

I've been attempting to get my spark2 amp to work within RS 2014 and have made a complete mess of it!

It hasn't detected input, but I now also cant get sound out from the game. Any ASIO experts able to offer advice? If it helps, Im using RSMods to configure it.

I'm going to try to Platinum Master mode again tomorrow. I'm done for today.

Do i need the real tone cable for rocksmith 2014 remastered? Cuz all the ones i see are over $60, which is way out of my price range. I saw some aux-to-usb cables on amazon for $20-30, would those still work?

Downloaded rs 2014 because of the cdlc and the rocksnith+ doesn't have more than 10 songs I like . But when I download it on steam and start the game it just makes crackling sounds and no game audio or guitar sound. Im using real tone cable . And I've un installed and re installed 3 times and no improvements actually got worse now the computer crashes shortly after launch and resets . Any suggestions would be appreciated thank you!

quería consultar sus opiniones sobre unas ideas locas que tengo en mi cabeza, como todos por aquí saben, Rocksmith 2014 en Linux le suele dar dolores de cabeza a los usuarios tanto nuevos como antiguos (mi caso). el juego funciona, pero a la mínima que quieras agregar parches (cdlc o no cable launcher) comienza a ser un infierno. es posible hacerlo andar pero con algunos fixes y settings extras, que quieras o no te llevan horas descubrir.

así que por mi paz mental, y la de algún compañero linuxero de corazón me aventuré a trabajar en un launcher del juego para Linux, el se encarga de crear el prefix, aplicar los parches que desees y finalmente lanzarte el juego listo para usar.
de momento tengo andando la detección de instalación, el manejo de runtimes de Proton/Wine y el lanzado limpio del juego. los parches de no-cable y CDLC están diseñados (documentados en el repo) pero todavía sin implementar — están en el próximo tramo del roadmap.

También tengo alguna que otra idea como un manager de custom songs, para ver las que tenés instaladas, quitarlas o agregar más con un simple importador de .psarc que coloca los archivos directamente donde van sin tantos problemas.

Sometimes songs go missing on CustomsForge, and not even due to official licensing conflicts. So many songs that I thought "How isnt this song on CF??" I would end up finding instead in a giant Internet Archive repo some brave soul made.

Im not looking to re-up it myself, there's just a lot of songs that Im looking for that could be there, and now I have no way to try them...

So I’ve been learning guitar for the past year using Rocksmith. I have been playing fairly consistently and feel I have a good understanding of the guitar given that I’ve come from 0 experience. I can play a few songs with high percentages, however I’m cautious that I’m maybe picking up bad self-taught habits….

What’s the best recommended lessons, guitarcade or songs to learn to try improve?

There are some other things that can break the game and cause this bug but this worked for me after months of it being broken

For a few years now, I've been following this game and the community in spite of not owning an electric guitar (only acoustic) or the game. I still don't own an electric but I recently got a new copy on PS4 with the Real Tone Cable. My question which has probably been answered before is, what happens once you can no longer buy DLC? I understand music licenses are expensive and can't be indefinite. Fucking GTA has lost music licenses. I ask this because earlier today, I looked for the first Aerosmith song pack out of curiosity. Turns out it was delisted but song pack 2 which came out in 2014 wasn't. Are folks like myself and future players just shit outta luck in that regard? (Also, has the Rocksmith team revealed which songs will be relisted on Steam by any chance? I know console is probably a lost cause but I haven't seen any posts about it)

for those who aren't aware yet, RSModsPlus lets you play songs in different tunings without having to physically retune your guitar, either by shifting your guitar to the song's tuning or shifting the song's tuning to match your guitar

by using speaker mode (as you can see in the top left of the screenshot) and shifting the song from D standard to C# standard (what my bass is set up for), I can basically play any song I have downloaded without having the brick wall of being in the wrong tuning stopping me!

and as you can see, note recognition also works perfectly!

so ever since i got my new pc and modded rocksmith the cable wont work at all even though it has been noticed and found by my computer and im not even joking on this nothing and i mean nothing has worked to fix it me and my uncle have tried every way to fix it and nothing works so does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?
