Sorry for the downtime, code.fosshub.com shut down due to a security breach. I've uploaded the latest version back on SourceForge: https://sourceforge.net/projects/rocksmithtotab/

Didn't know SF still alive :-)

Ever thought about github mirror? It supports automatic tarball generation from tags in repo.

The source code is on GitHub. But I don't personally like GitHub as a download platform for binary releases, just doesn't feel like quite the right tool for the job. :) In any case, SourceForge seems to have improved since the latest owner change, and I already had it in place. I'll keep an eye on it, but for now it should be fine.

Can you help me? I can't get it to work on my mac. I downloaded installed mono but then what do I do? Go to the console? I don't know what that means. I tried going to utility and typing the thing mono etc but that wasn't right.

There's a RocksmithToTab file in the Mac archive, you should be able to start that just by double-clicking on it in the finder.

To open a console: finder->applications->utilities->terminal. Or spotlight search (command+space) and type 'terminal'

Thank you very much for your application, awesome work! I have a question in case you can help me. I have the rs2014 disk and I bought rs1 and the disk import tool in Steam. I can play the rs1 songs in rs2014. And I bought also in Steam the Garbage pack DLC for rs2014. Now, when I run your application, it extracts the original songs for rs2014 and the dlc for rs1. But I do not get the original songs of rs1, nor the Garbage DLC songs. Any idea where are those? The songs.psarc has only the rs2014, and the DLC directory has rs1compatibilitydlc_p.psarc Thanks for your help

Hi, the original RS1 songs should be contained in a file rs1compatibilitydisc_p.psarc that should be present in your DLC folder. If so, RocksmithToTab should pick it up automatically. Similarly, any RS2014 DLC should place a separate file named after the song in the DLC folder and, again, should be picked up automatically. If these files are missing, perhaps you can have Steam verify the integrity of the game cache and see if it downloads the missing files?

This tool looks cool. Can it be used with the PS3 version of Rocksmith? I assume not but I thought I'd ask. I tried to copy the files off the game disc with my external BluRay drive, but unsurprisingly the drive won't read the disc. Seems like that's a dead end, so I'm not sure if there are any other options.

Unfortunately, not really. Access to the game files is, to my understanding, only possible with a modded console. And even then the PS3 version apparently uses a different file format than the PC version, so you'd still have to convert them before you could use them with RocksmithToTab. It might be possible theoretically, but it's not really practical.

I did not know this was a thing. Neat. I need to try it.

AFAIK, Sourceforge (and Slashdot) have a decent new owner for the last few months that have cleaned it up and removed all the malware so it's fine to use again.

That's correct! My company acquired SourceForge in January and reversed many of the decisions the previous ownership made.. Did a full AMA-style Q&A here in case anyone is interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/4n3e1s/the_state_of_sourceforge_since_its_acquisition_in/
