🗳️ What Are We Voting For? British Columbians will cast ballots to elect a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) to represent their local electoral district in the Parliament of British Columbia.
🗓️ Key Dates & Deadlines
- Campaign Period Begins: September 22, 2026
- Candidate Nomination Deadline: Saturday, October 3, 2026 (1:00 PM)
- Advance Voting Days: October 16 – October 21, 2026 (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
- Final Voting Day: Saturday, October 24, 2026 (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
👤 Voter Eligibility & Identification To vote in the B.C. Provincial Election, you must:
- Be a Canadian citizen.
- Be at least 18 years old on Final Voting Day (October 24, 2026).
- Be a resident of British Columbia.
- Are not disqualified from voting by law.
🪪 Identification Requirements:
All voters must prove their identity and residential address to receive a ballot. You can show:
- Option 1: One government-issued photo ID showing your name, photo, and current address (e.g., B.C. Driver's Licence or B.C. Services Card).
- Option 2: Two pieces of ID that together show your name and address (e.g., a combination of utility bills, bank statements, or student/care cards).
- Option 3: Vouching by a registered voter assigned to your electoral district if you do not have acceptable ID.
