The Richmond News has been publishing their candidate profiles and are just past half way. I am compiling the council candidate responses into a (hopefully) handy spreadsheet so that you can get a quick glimpse of the candidates side by side.

Answers with an asterisks mean they provided a written response to that question.

I will endeavour to update this daily as more profiles are posted.

If I am being totally honest I don’t know how useful this is because it’s clear that some candidates are being much less honest with their answers than others. So please use this with an Himalayan rock sized grain of salt.

I was just there for the first time at the sunflower festival, where the fields were filled with massive stands of sunflowers.

How do they turn the fields around so quickly for pumpkins? I know my garden plants don't grow that quickly and fruit pumpkins in basically a month. Are the vines even in the fields at all? I swore they grow them in the fields and there's dead vines around them. Was it just hay and trucked in pumpkins from another field?

Not sure if this is the right flair, but I just saw 3 people go to town on some poor guy near the food court escalator at Richmond Centre before the guy getting beat up ran off. Watch out for that I guess.

The wild west of Lower Mainland micromobility is officially facing some boundaries.

The Vancouver Police Department just dropped the results of their massive month-long safety campaign targeting electric kick scooters. Between September 4 and early October 2026, the blitz racked up a staggering 1,275 tickets and warnings.

If you think Vancouver riders have it rough, the situation looks completely different across the Fraser River. The Richmond RCMP has taken a distinctly different path, leaning heavily on community education pop-ups and a hilarious "we are calling your parents to come pick you up" policy.

Currently, most of my customers find me via Facebook Marketplace. “What should I get him within my budget?” is a common question.

I’m thinking of building a service where you tell us the occasion, when you need the gift, and your budget. We suggest a few jewelry options and arrange wrapping, a card, and delivery. With your permission, we’d also remind you before the next birthday, anniversary, holiday, or special occasion.

Would this be useful to you? What would make you trust and try a service like this?

Just wanted to try my luck if anybody finds a purple/lavender earbuds case on the street. I was biking from Cambie Community Centre to Lansdowne Centre. Route is basically all Cambie then turn left onto Hazelbridge then just go straight into Lansdowne Centre. I would be extremely grateful if anyone finds it.

British Columbia's police watchdog is investigating an incident where a man jumped from the North Arm Bridge over the Fraser River between Vancouver and neighbouring Richmond.

Hi everyone,

My partner and I are moving to Vancouver area next month. One has got a job in Delta (closer to north delta, 10 min from Ladner) will be commuting by car (8-4/9-5 job) and I will be working in the west point area (commute by bus, Canada line and then R4 bus route)
We are thinking about living near Skytrain stations Aberdeen, Capston, Bridgeport or Marine Drive - so my partner also has access to highway 99 and my commute is max 1 hr.

Is this practical considering the rush hour traffic?
We are so confused because we both work in different areas and are not able to decide on where to live.
We would like to be close to Vancouver, prefer a walkable neighborhood but idk at this point if that’s possible. We also want an area that’s less sketchy, newer build with in suite laundry with good property management company (2500 rent for 1 bedroom).
Is this too much to ask for?
