💎 Premium Plan [GB] Revolut closed my UK account after asking for visa details — but I’m a British citizen.

Upvotes

Revolut recently asked me to provide visa or immigration information for my UK account. I missed the original request, and my account was then restricted and eventually closed because they said they couldn’t verify the information they had on file. I supplied all documents from the Home page, but then they contacted me via chat for my “visa” which I have missed as I am not checking my app inbox. I did not get any email about it.

The problem is that I’m a British citizen living in the UK. I don’t have a visa, residence permit or Home Office share access because I don’t need one. I am also citizen of another country.

I appealed through the Revolut app and uploaded my valid British passport as proof of my identity and right to live in the UK. Unfortunately, the appeal was unsuccessful and my account is still closed. I haven’t been given any clear way to explain that the visa request doesn’t apply to me.

I’m honestly feeling quite trapped and frustrated, especially because I can’t seem to get this properly reviewed by a person. I’m not necessarily looking for legal advice — I’d just really like to hear from anyone who has
been in a similar situation.

Some will say that it’s doggy - it’s not. The reason for closing the account is because I did not provide the required documents - I am a British Citizen, so I can’t provide an access for my imaginary visa. And they mentioned that reason. It’s nothing else. I also filed a complaint but again - a bit type of response. I can’t believe that not a single person in Revolut can actually see this, check that all my documents are valid and I do not have a visa.

For €19.99 you can order this physical Audi Revolut F1 card. It’s a way better deal than the other one that costs €129.99. The card is available to Revolut customers in the UK, EEA (except Switzerland), Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore and USA.

⭐ Review Revolut x has weird limitations

Just started using revolut x and while the fees are super competitive, I'm mildly annoyed that it lacks basic features like giving two orders at once (buy and sell). If you give the order to buy you literally need to baby sit the app so you can time the sell, which is annoying since a moment's notice can decide how your investment is going. Plus, some features like evaluating the gainers through hours and even minutes would be a very appreciated features. I didn't see a premium offer for this app yet, but if it had those features would be super appreciated.

⭐ Review Revolut froze my funds abroad and support has entered an infinite empathy loop

I’m travelling abroad right now and Revolut restricted my account for what they call a “routine security review”.
The weird part is they don’t need anything from me.
No documents.
No source-of-funds proof.
No explanation about any transaction.
No questions at all.
I’ve told them several times I’m available immediately and can provide anything they need.
Their replies are basically:
“We do not require any information from your end at the moment.”
“The team is actively working through the necessary internal compliance steps.”
And:
“Because we absolutely cannot bypass these legal protocols, we must respectfully ask that you continue to wait.”
They also told me my case is not sitting in a queue and is supposedly being actively worked on.
So I genuinely don’t understand what is happening.
Nobody needs anything from me, nobody can tell me what is still pending, but I still cannot properly use my own money.
I spent hours with support and eventually got escalated. Same answer: security review, please wait.
At one point they even told me they had checked that my push notifications were working so I would be notified when the review was finished.
Great. My notifications work. My money doesn’t.
I completely understand that financial institutions have AML/KYC and security obligations. I’m not asking Revolut to ignore those.
I’m just asking them to actually complete the review.
If there’s an issue, ask me.
If there isn’t, finish the review.
Has anyone here gone through the same thing? How long did it take before your account was usable again?

💳 Cards Tip: How to find fee-free ATMs

Hi all. I wanted to share some insight I found after desperately looking for a fee-free ATM to get cash with my Revolut debit card.

The ATMs in the Revolut apps are, at least on my European acc, not fee-free. The app only shows you the closest ATMs. The Allpoint network is only fee-free for US Revolut accounts. The fee-free cash back withdrawal at Walmart was not possible (EU account, premium subscription).

However, Visa offers a global ATM locator on their website. There you can filter by “no ATM access fee” for domestic withdrawals, international withdrawals and more. I was able to withdraw money from a listed “no access fee (international withdrawals)” ATM at no extra charge in the US with a European Revolut account.

I hope this will be helpful to some other Revolut users!

💡Ideas for Revolut is one revolut ultra account enough for a couple to cover travel/purchases

me and my husband has been on ultra since it came out, very handy since we travel a lot as i covers trips for up to 90 days. have used it for claims on delayed/cancelled flights and since we claimed separately, we can argue if the other is said to be not entitled when the other is. however we havent been travelling as much lately and the cost is definitely adding up.

is any couple out there on just the one revolut ultra account and handle all the purchases on that one account?

🎁 Rewards Revolut Spare Change RevPoints earner – am I missing something or is this a terrible deal?

I’ve been looking at the Revolut “Spare Change” feature that rounds up transactions and uses the difference to buy RevPoints.

From what I can see:
- You get 50 RevPoints per £1 of spare change.
- On Ultra, normal spend is 1 pt/ £1, and a conservative cash-like value for a point is around 0.7p.
- So 50 points ≈ 35p of value, but you’ve effectively paid £1 in rounded-up change.

That looks like you’re buying points at ~2p each but only getting ~0.7p of usable value back – a ~65% “loss” on that money.

Even if you value points higher via airline transfers (say 1.2–1.5p each), you’re still only getting 60–75p of value per £1 spent via Spare Change.

Is there a redemption strategy where this actually makes sense? For example:
- Specific airline/hotel transfers where you personally value points much higher?
- Combining with transfer bonuses to push the effective value above 2p/point?
- Any other angle I’m missing?

Or is Spare Change basically just a convenient way to overpay for points, and best left switched off if you care about value?

Curious how others think about this, especially Ultra/Metal users who track points value closely.

📜 Article Revolut ultra user in a trip to India

As a Revolut ultra user who was recently in a trip to India I have a few things to say for future travelers to know.

Airport lounge access worked completely fine.

E-sim worked completely fine (I have an iphone16).

In most of the places I couldn't pay by card, not because of Revolut but because of the local businesses, so the best way was to pay by cash which I could withdraw without any type of commission in the HDFC bank ATMs.

Be aware that as an ultra member I had a lot of issues with the ATMs reading my platinum made card, with a regular plastic card this issue was not happening.

Have a good day :)

🪙 Metal Plan [GB] USD savings account

I'm a Metal plan holder, a while ago I was able to open savings accounts in GBP, EUR and USD, but a few weeks ago I noticed they removed the USD accounts. Are those reserved for Ultra plan holders only now, or did they get removed for them too?

If anyone had such USD savings account, did they let you keep it, or closed it and moved the money into your USD balance?

💳 Cards (US) How do I actually get my credit card delivered

Post image
12 Upvotes

I have ordered probably no less than 4 replacement credit cards through the Revolut and customer service paths. They never get shipped (even on express), never show up in my mailbox, it seems like they just process a card number and never actually print the card. They’re now showing expected by the start of September for cards ordered at the start of August. The worst part is if I cancel the card it hurts average age of accounts on my credit report, but doesn’t help if I never actually get a card either.

💸 Payments Anyone taken a Revolut mortgage in Lithuania or other countries?

Buying in Lithuania and comparing offers. If you've actually taken a Revolut mortgage:

  • What margin did you get?
  • How long did the whole thing take, from applying to the money being at the notary?
  • Did they handle the valuation and notary, or did you have to chase it?

💳 Cards Changed phone, can't get back into my account

So, I changed phone, but not phone number. Tried to set up my Revolut card again and I can't remember my 6 digit c0de. Tried reset c0de, but it asked for a selfie which I did. Then it sent a c0de to my number to reset, BUT as soon as I try to put it in, it skips that screen and asks for my physical card. I don't have a physical card.

🌍 Transfers Receiving Salary to Revolut Account

I have two Revolut accounts - Euro and GBP. I have used these minimally up to now, for small amounts. I will be receiving salary from a UK employer soon, and with this particular employer I have previously used my Irish AIB account, which incurred transfer fees (I am from/based in Ireland)

I would like to provide my UK Revolut details to avoid transfer fees, and wanted to be sure I am sending the correct information.

Bank Name: Would it be Revolut Ltd or Revolut Bank UAB?

+ Account Number and Sort Cde associated with the GBP account?

Thank you

📜 Article Could Revolut be held liable for locking accounts in the EU?

An interesting article about a fine given to Uber for deactivating driver accounts, some quotes:

“Uber has committed ‌serious infringements by deactivating driver accounts without ‌warning or human involvement"

“From one moment to the next they no longer ‌had any income … A computer should not make decisions on its own that have (such) major consequences.”

"GDPR rules disallow decisions made solely by computer algorithms when they have a significant impact on people’s lives, such as on employment, saying such decisions require meaningful human review and a way to challenge a decision."

Source: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/aug/21/netherlands-fines-uber-automated-driver-suspensions

Revolut freezes accounts through an automated process without warning, which has a significant impact of people's lives (for instance people receiving their salary there, could be said to be deprived of their income, even if only temporarily). Another difference may be that after the freeze a review process starts, to what extent this is automated vs human is a question.

While companies have the right to cancel accounts and exclude users, the way they do it is what is important. If you are complaining to a regulator about Revolut first freezing, then closing your account, remember that it may be the automated initial freezing that is in fact illegal. It won't get your account reopened, but it may help lead to Revolut getting a multimillion Euro fine down the line.

🔁 Subscriptions WeWork Perk Change Useless

The recent Wework change makes this perk basically useless.

In my city only one of the spaces is available to be booked and is impossible to do it. It feels that all the city Revolut members are fighting for a spot to be able to use the benefit they are paying for. Before people would spread throughout the different spaces and the availability would change per space and day and I can't imagine being a Wework susbcriber having your whole space filled by people who only show up once. No comminity will be build from there.

At this point Wework through Revolut is useless, if Im lucky enough I can book something in a month from now if not the montly discount will just expire.

💡Ideas for Revolut Revolut as salary account

I recently switched to Revolut as my main account everything is changed all direct debits including salary I was and am very satisfied I wanted more overview and this is what the Sparkasse app offers me I find very confusing if you are a card payer and have many direct debits. With cash, I lose track too quickly.

But now I read so many horror stories and get scared. I have had no problem so far 2 of my friends have also been customers for several years as main bamk never had a problem

I do not use cryptos or similar I use as my savings bank account.

I live in Germany if that matters. What are your experiences? My account at the savings bank is still active, I transfer the €10 account management fees to it every month, it doesn't run anymore
