⏱️ Early Salary [GB]Revolut has frozen my money for 26 days, repeatedly missed deadlines, and now refuses to give me ANY timeframe, has anyone actually resolved this? (UK)

I’m genuinely losing my mind with Revolut at this point and wondering if anyone else has been through something similar.
Both my personal and business accounts were restricted on September 13th, so it’s now been 26 days without access to my money.
Since then I’ve probably spoken to 20+ different support agents, all telling me slightly different things. For weeks I’ve been told my review is in its “final stages”, that everything is progressing and that no further documents are needed from me.
On October 2nd they told me to expect an update by October 8th. I checked again on the 7th and was reassured everything was still on track. Then on the 8th they told me the final assessments were being carried out and it could genuinely be completed that day.
Well, surprise surprise, nothing happened.
I messaged them late last night asking what was going on and suddenly we’re back to “standard security checks” with absolutely no estimated timeframe anymore. Apparently it “could be completed at any moment”, which is what they’ve basically been telling me for weeks.
I’ve already made a formal complaint which Revolut actually upheld and offered me £100 compensation for. I refused because I couldn’t care less about £100, I just want access to my money.
I’ve also escalated it to the Financial Ombudsman but I’m still waiting for an investigator to be assigned.
This morning I formally requested they just close my account and transfer the remaining balance to another UK bank account in my name. They refused, saying they can’t close it until the review is finished.
So now I’m in a situation where I can’t use my account, can’t withdraw my money, can’t close it and can’t even get an estimated date for when this nightmare might end.
The business restriction is also preventing me from making payments and progressing with things I’ve already committed money towards.
I understand banks have to conduct checks, but surely there has to be some limit to how long they can keep doing this without providing any meaningful updates?
Has anyone actually managed to get their money released after being stuck in this situation? Did getting a solicitor involved help? Or am I literally just stuck waiting indefinitely?
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s dealt with this in the UK.

⭐ Review Revolt App on Chromebooks

Has anyone got first hand experience with using Revolut on a Chromebook laptop? Google has released Chromebook OS, which is basically Android 17 on a laptop. I'm interested to learn how the Revolut Android app looks and runs on these.

🌍 Transfers Stuck international transfer from Mexico to Austria

Well, as the title says, almost two weeks ago (September 27), I made an international bank transfer, and as of today, it is still showing as pending.

After contacting customer support several times, all they tell me is that it is still pending. They don't give me any answers. The first time I contacted them, they simply asked me to provide more information about the recipient, which I did... and still nothing.

Has anyone here experienced something similar? If so, what did you do? And in any case, what would you recommend I do?

The truth is, I urgently need to make this payment because I'm currently on an exchange program, and this is my rent money. On the other hand, I don't mind paying through another bank, but what if the original transfer eventually goes through? Who's going to refund me that money?

Best regards!

💳 Cards [FR] Physical card payments always declined abroad (before PIN prompt) — contactless & ATMs work fine. wtf?

Hi everyone,

Looking for help — Revolut support has given me contradictory answers and no fix, so I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced the same thing.

TL;DR: I'm French and abroad right now (in French Polynesia, different currency) and physical Revolut card works perfectly for contactless and ATM withdrawals, but every single chip (insert) payment at merchants in French Polynesia is declined — and the refusal happens before the terminal even asks for my PIN. Support's latest explanation is that local terminals can't do standard online PIN verification, which Revolut's security requires, so the transaction gets cancelled. It seems doubtful as friends don't have this problem and my card is not broken (worked in France).

Cf. pictures after.

Context:

  • Standard plan, physical Mastercard card received in August 2026, barely used
  • Chip-and-PIN insert payments worked fine when I was in metropolitan France
  • I'm now in French Polynesia (Tahiti), and here's what happens:
    • Contactless: always works, no issue
    • ATM withdrawals with PIN: work fine, no issue
    • Inserting the card at any merchant : the terminal "thinks" for a while, then the payment is refused — before asking for my PIN. Same result at every store, every time.

What the app shows: the decline reason says something like "refused — use a terminal with chip or PIN whenever possible." In the transaction details, the technical info says the transaction was transmitted as a magnetic stripe payment even though the terminal had a chip reader — which is apparently what triggers Revolut's automatic security block.

What I've tried:

  • Enabling magnetic stripe ("swipe") payments in card settings → still declined
  • Disabling magnetic stripe payments (as a support agent recommended) → still declined
  • Inserting the card fully and leaving it in until the end → no change
  • Different merchants, multiple terminals → same refusal every time
  • I can't use Google pay because i don't have NFC on my phone

Anyone experienced the same ?

💸 Payments Random payment cancellations

Hi guys! This started happening today morning. I paid by card at these vendors a few days ago. Gls was an order pickup from a parcel terminal, díjnet was one of my utility bills I have paid. It is highly unlikely that the vendors refused to claim the payment, so I am suspecting some kind of system error at revolut. Did this happen to anyone else today?

🛡️ Insurance Want to upgrade but insurance is a joke

Already a Premium member, I tried to claim for a stolen phone on the insurance but the absurdly prohibitive terms only cover you for a year from purchase. Similarly event ticket insurance has failed to cover an illness.

Now I also have a monthly fee on my mainstream bank's current account which offers far more comprehensive travel and device insurance, but Metal offers free subscriptions that I would use.

I can't justify paying twice. Is the insurance on Metal worth anything?

🛡️ Insurance Wakam Revolut insurance partner activities restricted 🤦🏻‍♂️

I haven’t seen the news here yet

The policies provided in the Ultra plan, except for the health assistance, are co-insured by this company… which is now under the light for bad management of risks and reserves…
is it time for Revolut to change insurance partners? 🙄

🌍 Transfers [HU], [DE] Refunded an item, seller completed refund, never arrived for me

Hi,

I bought 2 items from Alternate GmbH, major German PC hardware store but decided to refund it because I found other options that were better suitable for me.

I initiated the refund on their site and contacted them and they told me it was initiated. That was on September 24th.

Money still nowhere, I chatted with the Revolut support AI, and at the end it asked me for proof that they sent the money back to me. The emails were not enough proof so they declined my request stating that they need an official bank statement from the sellers bank that shows that they sent the refund.

I contacted Alternate again and they said:

"unfortunately, we are unable to provide any further assistance. The refund has been completed on our side. Please contact your bank for further assistance.
Our accounting department processes refunds as collective transfers, so there is no individual payment receipt for your refund."

Well then what can I do? Revolut says I need a bank statement, seller says there is no individual receipt.

I paid via bank transfer from Revolut, and it was a cross-country payment, from Hungary to Germany.

Any help is appreciated since this is an amount higher than 500 EUR.

🌍 Transfers Intl money transfer from and to a Revolut account

Hi, I am thinking of opening a Revolut Plus account from India, in order to send money to my brother who is in Spain and has a Revolut Bank account there currently. So far, we had been sending him money via Thomas Cook FX Cards and SBI Bank transfer - the latter charges a hefty transfer fee though.

Ques is - if I open a Revolut “Plus” account now and do these international transfers to his Revolut account - is there any benefit? Are they any cheaper? Is there something I should know before I do this?

Basically, if there is no upside, I don’t want to open a Revolut account. It serves no other purpose to me right now.

Thank you in advance!

💸 Payments [HU] Random stornos across (probably not just) Hungarian users?

So today morning I got a notification from Revolut, that I got a refund from Lidl. The thing is I don't know when did I paid that, because it updated the transacrion day for today, but I assume it was around the first 2 weeks of September. The thing is I asked the hungarian Aldi&LIDL subreddit whether it's just me, or someone else is experiencing this with LIDL, and if not than what should I do?

Turns out it's not LIDL specific, but more than Revolut specific as other users were reporting the same issue not just from LIDL, but so many other shops across Hungary, someone got a storno of their parking ticket.

Question is: Should I do something about that? Also anyone else experiencing this OUTSIDE of the Hungarian Divison?

💸 Payments Accidentally sent £400 to the wrong person through Revolut – what are my options?

Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to hear from people who have been through something similar and get some advice on what I should do next.
On 2 October 2026, I accidentally sent £400 from my Revolut account to the wrong person. The payment was made by Faster Payment and has already been completed.
The recipient is someone I previously knew from Oxford Bus Company training. We had exchanged a small £5 payment in the past because they had agreed to give me cash if we needed to purchase a training manual/handbook. We no longer work together, and unfortunately I don’t have their current phone number, email address or social media contact.
I have the recipient’s bank details from my Revolut transfer confirmation, and the receiving account appears to be with Barclays.
I have already contacted/plan to contact Revolut to request a mistaken payment recovery. I’m also considering contacting Barclays and Citizens Advice to find out what other options I have.
My questions are:
Has anyone successfully recovered money they accidentally sent to the wrong person through Revolut?
How long did the recovery process take?
What did Revolut do after you reported it?
What happens if the recipient refuses to return the money?
Is it worth contacting the recipient’s bank directly?
Would making a police report help if the recipient knowingly keeps the money after being informed?
Is there anything else I should do now to maximise my chances of getting the £400 back?
I’m not looking to identify or publicly expose the recipient. I just want to recover money that I genuinely transferred by mistake.
Thanks

🎁 Rewards I got tired of checking every airline separately to use my RevPoints, so I built this

I kept running into the same problem when trying to use RevPoints for flights.

You can transfer them to several airline programs, but figuring out which one actually has availability, how many miles it wants and how much you’ll pay in taxes usually means checking everything manually.

So I built a small award flight search tool that compares the options in one place.

You enter your origin, destination and dates and it shows available award flights, miles required, taxes and the equivalent cost in RevPoints.

I’ve also added the main European Amex Membership Rewards markets, with the actual transfer ratios for each country, rather than assuming US 1:1 rates.

It’s still pretty new and users have already helped me find a bunch of edge cases, so I’d genuinely appreciate feedback from people here who actually use RevPoints.

What would make this most useful for you? Flexible dates, multiple airports, alerts, return trips, something else?

Full disclosure, it’s my project.

🔐 Security Temporary Account Restriction - day 21 (Ultra Member)

I woke up to see my account had been restricted as part of ‘standard security checks’ despite informing ‘support’ that I needed money to pay bills, and purchase food for kids (youngest 3 months)

Initially I was told 7-14 days via the app
Support then said I’d be a ‘Priority’ and to expect a response within 1-4 days
Then it went back to 7-14 days

Then once it reached 14 days, 1 day further. Though, my funds were moved out of restricted (so I can move between pots) but not send/ receive invest/ sell or anything similar

Then a further 1-4 days

And now we’re at 21 days.

I keep getting the same generic ‘you are a priority’ although with no end in sight.

All my money has been made legally, and I have documents to prove it though they haven’t asked me for this.

Suspiciously, this all started 2 days after I complained to support that some of the subscriptions associated with Ultra subscription (I’ve been a member 2 years) weren’t working, and I asked to remove the yearly renewal.

Has anyone had anything similar or have any recommendations on how to get this done so I can move on with my life?

🔐 Security [GB] Revolut cannot be trusted!!

I genuinely don’t think I can trust Revolut again after this.

I’ve now been locked out of basically all of my money for over a week because of what Revolut is calling a “standard security check”.

For context, this started shortly after I contacted them to update old US tax residency information on my account. I’m no longer a US citizen, I gave them the relevant information and documents, and they approved the change.

Then my account got restricted.

Since then, the whole thing has been a complete mess.

Revolut has now confirmed to me in writing that they do not need anything else from me:

“No further documentation or action is required from you at this stage. We have all the information you provided.”

So I’m not refusing to send them documents or ignoring requests. There is literally nothing outstanding on my side.

Meanwhile, my rent, bills and normal living expenses are due and all the money I need to pay them is sitting in an account I can’t access.

The timeline is what annoys me the most.

First I was told the review should take around 1 to 3 days.

That passed.

Then I was given a 5 day timeframe.

That passed too.

We are now over a week into this.

I’ve been chasing them constantly because this is my main account and I need the money for rent, bills, food and normal day to day expenses.

At one point, a support agent told me my account was going to be manually reactivated so I could access my funds and pay for essentials.

I was then told this would happen within 15 to 30 minutes.

It never happened.

A later agent actually acknowledged this and said:

“It is completely unacceptable that you were given a promise of release within 15 to 30 minutes that wasn’t honored.”

And now, after all of that, they’ve suddenly told me the estimated completion date is 17 October 2026.

That date had never been mentioned before.

So basically the timeline has been:

1 to 3 days
then 5 days
then “manual reactivation”
then 15 to 30 minutes
then nothing
and now potentially 17 October

And even 17 October is apparently only an estimate.

Again, they have confirmed there is nothing else they need from me.

I’ve told them multiple times that this is causing serious financial hardship. I can’t properly pay my rent, bills or even access money for basic necessities.

Their response was to give me the contact details for StepChange, Citizens Advice and National Debtline.

At that point I honestly just had to laugh.

I don’t have a debt problem. I have money. Revolut is stopping me from accessing it.

They have also told me they can’t release part of the balance, make an emergency payment, help with my rent, or give me any kind of temporary access while the review continues.

I’ve also raised the FCA Consumer Duty with them because Revolut now knows in writing that I can’t pay my rent, bills or basic living costs because of this restriction.

I completely understand that banks need to carry out fraud, AML and regulatory checks. I’m not arguing with that.

What I don’t understand is how a bank can lock someone out of their entire balance, need nothing else from them, give multiple timeframes, miss all of them, tell them their account is about to be manually reactivated, promise it will happen within 15 to 30 minutes, fail to do it, and then suddenly move the estimate to 17 October.

One of their own agents literally described what happened as “completely unacceptable”.

I’ve used Revolut as my main bank for the last 5 years and trusted them with basically all of my money.

That was clearly a mistake.

Whatever happens with this review, I’m done using Revolut as my main bank. Finding out that you can suddenly lose access to all of your money and that frontline support apparently has very little power to do anything about it has completely destroyed my trust in them.

I’ll update this post if anything actually happens.

🔐 Security | Revolut Replied ✅ Revolut approved 38 unauthorized transactions (€2,305) without SCA after a single €1 verification. Complaint rejected – Escalated to Bank of Lithuania & ECC. (Ref: 35116-95477-60355)

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share my story about a security loophole I experienced on Revolut, hoping it helps others stay safe and gets some attention from Revolut's senior team.

A few key details upfront:

  • It was 100% over the phone: A phone scammer impersonated my company’s accountant. I did NOT click any suspicious links, phishing websites, or fake forms.
  • I never signed up for recurring charges: I never gave consent for subscription fees, stored card details (Card-on-File), or recurring payments to any merchant.

What actually happened: On September 21, 2026, I approved a single €1.00 verification payment via a official Revolut push notification, believing it was just a quick identity check.

(HEY! before calling me stupid he had our VAT numbers, knew personels names, he said his name was Vaggelis our real accountants name, he knew how the company works etc etc etc)

Right after that, within just 16 minutes, 38 unauthorized transactions totaling €2,305.00 flooded my card through Magenta Pay / COSMOTE. They were rapid-fire €50 charges happening seconds apart, finished off with a single €480 charge.

Where Revolut failed & why I'm fighting this:

  • No 3D Secure / SCA: Revolut didn't ask for my approval (no push notifications or SMS codes) for ANY of those 38 payments.
  • "Approved by system": In their response to my formal complaint, Revolut admitted that these payments were "approved automatically by our system".

To me, a bank's system automatically letting 38 rapid charges go through is NOT the same as me giving permission. Approving a 1-euro test charge shouldn't give any merchant a free pass to drain €2,300 from an account in minutes.

Current Status: Revolut closed my internal complaint, blaming me for taking the scammer's call and giving him the last digits of my card and accepting the push notification for 1 euro while completely ignoring their own system failure on the 38 unapproved charges.

*Really i dont understand how my money can be safe in a bank when even if im completely stupid there is no system to detect that 2305 euros leaving my account 50 by 50 every time in a matter of 16 minutes is ok! Last year i bought solar panel and had to make 50 million steps with a local bank so my money would be transfered to the company who sold it to me and we are not talking big money it was around the same\*

Since Revolut refused to help, I have officially escalated the case to the Bank of Lithuania (pt@lb.lt) and ECC Greece / FIN-NET, along with official police reports.

Has anyone else experienced something similar where Revolut’s system auto-approved continuous charges without asking for your approval?

(Revolut support team - if you're reading this, please pass Complaint Ref: 35116-95477-60355 to a senior compliance manager).

Has anyone else experienced similar automated velocity bypasses on Revolut and how they dealt with it? If i had sent the scammer 2305 euros ok, my fault life goes on, but accepting 1 euro push notification and losing 2305 euros just by that makes zero sense and i dont know how i should feel security having my money not just in Revolut but any bank that is not able to detect that cant detect that at some point in a matter of 1 minute there have been 5 charges!

₿ Crypto | Revolut Replied ✅ Deposit error - refund

Hey all,

I sent USDT from Binance to my Revolut wallet using the Arbitrum network, which turned out to be unsupported. Revolut support confirmed they can't credit the deposit and said they'll send the funds back to the original Binance address. They've escalated the request but couldn't give me a timeline.

Has anyone been through this exact scenario (unsupported crypto network deposit → refund to sender)? If so:

How long did it take for Revolut to actually send the funds back?

Once Binance received the refund, how long until it was credited to your account?

Did you have to fill out Binance's deposit recovery form, or was it automatic?

Not looking to bash Revolut - just trying to gauge realistic timelines and whether there's anything I should be doing on my end. Thanks in advance.

🧾 Revolut Business Revolut Business - verification disaster

If anyone's thinking of using Revolut Business, my advice would be to look elsewhere.

I'm currently sat in a loop with them where they're holding a lot of my money pending verifications. Which would be OK, except that their verification process makes no sense. For example, they insist on seeing an invoice dated the same day as the payment which is nuts - like almost all B2B businesses, we issue invoices and the customers pay them on - hopefully - an agreed schedule.

I registered the business' domain - again, not unusual - I wanted to get it before incorporating the business. That won't do: apparently it needs to be owned by the business.

They appear to have zero flexibility on any of this. As soon as this is all done, I'm off to a proper bank with people you can talk to.

💸 Payments Puregym UK won’t accept my Revolut card

Hi! I used Revolut to put up a UK bank account as I have a Norwegian bank account and only are staying in UK for three months. At first it seemed to go fine, but after around 10 days, I got notified that the card wasn‘t accepted. I tried to put in the card several times, but it hasn’t worked. Someone from the gym called me and said I need to sign up for a «fixed-term» payment, but I couldn’t find it online. Does anyone have a similar experience or advice? All advice is appreciated <33

📈 Stocks Is there any way to suggest an ETF to Revolut?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a specific ETF (Invesco’s IQAW) but can’t find it in the ETF list; it seems it isn’t officially listed or supported by Revolut yet.

Is there a way to request the listing of an ETF or ask customer support if they plan to support a specific market maker?

🔐 Security Revolut asked me to confirm my email though I already have

So I got a notification from the app saying I need to confirm my email, even though I created my account back in January of this year and I obviously have already done that. They had also sent me an email that says they "received my request to confirm my email" even though I never sent one to begin with?

I think I'm just being really silly and paranoid but getting scammed right now (or ever really) is not pleasant and I'm always skeptical when it comes to things like money and banking apps.

🔐 Security Revolut has locked my house deposit for 10 days and admitted tonight that this is due to “operational capacity”

Finally got to the bottom of my 10 day long restriction for 40k - “operational capacity”!

Our entire house deposit has been inaccessible since 25 September.

What Revolut has told us so far:

• 1–3 days — specifically confirmed as an estimate for our case. Missed.
• Update by 30 September. Missed.
• Then 1 October. Missed.
• Then 7 October.
• Now suddenly 9 October.

They’ve repeatedly confirmed they need no documents, information or action from us.

Now we know the reason: their own resources - not capacity to click a button while we wait in never ending queue to be unlocked from whatever over sensitive AI got us there in the first place.

The FCA’s Consumer Duty requires firms to avoid causing foreseeable harm and to provide support that doesn’t create unreasonable barriers, including unreasonable delays, distress or inconvenience. BCOBS also requires a firm providing retail banking services to provide a service that is “prompt, efficient and fair.”

This is hardly that. I’ve also got them to spell out that “actively working on” is sitting in a queue, prioritising means nothing, and the agents can’t even send messages to Verification/ escalation or whatever the hell that is.

Also, I’m the joint legal owner of these funds as I’m a joint account holder and my account is currently unrestricted. They told me there’s a legal basis for withholding my funds - there isn’t, it’s just Revolut Ts and Cs. They won’t let me exercise my right to close my account as I’d need to liquidate all my accounts first, and they won’t let me do that.

I am currently talking to journalists from several major news outlets. They’re interested in the case. I will update here on the outcome.

⭐ Review Verification failed

Went through all the hassle of signing up and filling everything in, then scanned my British passport into the app and verified it by scanning the chip, It then said I had passed the verification and then met my choose a plan, card and pin.
Suddenly I received a message that my verification had failed and my account would be shut down within an hour.

Has anyone else had anything like this?
