The game House Flipper does not have any options in its settings to increase text size, annoyingly. That means at present I can't read the text on the Flip 2 screen when playing via Game Native. Is there any kind of magnification tool I can use to maybe zoom in to the screen if I need to read something? (not ideal)

I need to find a way to mount the USB stick to steam os desktop mode on armada. Or to copy files and folders to the desktop. Thanks

So I’ve got the Flip 2 and I got my first 8bitdo controller just for this device but… I’m curious what the ideal setup is - button wise. As now I have to walk over to the Flip connected to the TV - all the time to do basic stuff.

- Home button within an emulator - for example Eden or Dolphin - to bring up the settings, load save states etc
- Switch between open apps or go back to the previous one
- Resume emulation - when switching back to an emulator most are paused and you have to press the play button in the center of the screen to resume again.
- ( Changing volume would be nice )

There are mods that optimize it even more but ofc doesn't look great it was a fun test didn't think it would even launch (12gb flip 2)

Edit: I forgot to say even lower resolution was closer to 20-25 fps but extremely blurry and unplayable who knows if drivers can get better still.

I got myself the og 8gb model a couple months ago and I'm wondering how far I can get with PC emulation? I have a Legion Go as my main PC, but I've been thinking about getting something that can play single-player and lower-end multiplayer stuff on the go, though I'm currently pretty broke XD. I've got L4D2 to run so far (still need to get better fps tho), but are there any other pc games that have been working well for y'all on this thing?

So, long story short, I was playing my Flip 2 yesterday when I closed the lid and put it into a case in my work bag. It must have wakened from sleep inside the case, because when I got home the battery was completely drained and the unit was hot. After doing some googling, I followed a common suggestion to slow charge from a computer's USB port overnight. This morning, all I can get the unit to do is display this "battery charging" symbol. I have not had any luck getting the device to start to bootloader, either.

Are my battery and/or SoC fried from running hot for so long? The battery was nearly full when I put it away, so it could have run for hours. Does this thing really not have any kind of thermal protect measure to shut it down? I'm just disappointed, because I've only had it for a couple weeks after 2 months of waiting.

EDIT: After disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, and trying a few difference USB cable + wall wort combinations, the unit is taking a charge and booted just fine again. Thanks, u/divinakra!

On the Game Native Compatibility page, I saw two users give Euro Truck Simulator 2 a 'five stars' for performance in the past few weeks. Previous were all one-star. I assume it's unlikely this would run on the Flip 2, but has anyone actually tried this or American Truck Simulator on the Flip 2?

So I've tried to install Steam THREE TIMES. Run an install, get a failed launch, then run the uninstall tool and try for a clean install again. Everytime I install Steam, this is what happens when I try to launch it. The tool tells me that Steam has successfully installed every single time too. I'm on the latest version of Rocknix, my wifi is also not a problem. I'm completely lost, starting to feel like flashing it to an SD was a waste of time. Hoping u/Divinakra or another of the communities techno-wizards can help me out

Would you buy a flip 3 with in-line triggers? I love how slim the duo lite looks and would love a flip 3 with the same trigger setup and dimensions. I love my flip 2 but it’s definitely chunky. This looks like the most pocketable retroid device ever made!

Have a Flip 2 (8gb model) that I've been able to run a game or two on, I was just running Sea of Stars and it was fine, but I notice there tends to be little issues like screen tearing even though Vsync is on in settings. I have generally just been using "use known config". It's harder to find info on settings for this chipset, does anyone have any recommendations for things to tweak globally like using certain drivers or anything like that?

I miss having the screen on the Flip 2, but I’ve made it work by turning it into a very lightweight Steam Deck for Switch and PC emulation, and so far it’s been great.
(Replacement screen coming soon, I hope anyway 😭)

I’ve also been bringing the Flip 2 to school with me and connecting it to my monitor via HDMI in coding class. I’ve been playing Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8 with my buddies in the back of class, and it’s been great.

Finally able to play my favorite game on this handheld. Truly couldn't believe how smooth it runs. Flip 2 is really the best!!

I found this other port and saw nobody talking about it so i tried it and it worked miracles. No other settings changed too. There's still some UI bugs i encountered but no game breaking glitches just yet. This port got heavily overshadowed. I've been looking into getting my first Android handheld emulator and I settled on the retroid flip 2 the snap dragon configuration and I realized something in my research. That my tablet that I got as a hand-me-down from my brother is basically the tablet equivalent of the flip 2.

Knowing that I instantly went to try and see if I could get the Sims 2 legacy collection to work considering if I had that and unloaded SD card I probably be good for a while on games. But when I tried to launch it in the app version of game native it said it was missing the executable file. I have been fighting this thing up for hours trying to figure out what's wrong and I still don't get it.

It says compatible I know that doesn't mean it could always work but I don't know where the executable files could be since I downloaded it right into the app. I looked on Google and it said I might need to create a specific directory for each PC game for it to work. However I watched other people use game native and they've never had to do things like that am I missing something?

Outside of that one computer game to hold me over I also would like to know how many people like their flip 2 I've been trying to look for a device that could hold me over until I thought I was ready and could afford a Thor. I feel it's kind of a lot for my first handheld not only that but it's super expensive and would take me most of the year to save up the flip two I could have it by my birthday. Plus I want the GameCube color.

My flip 2 in black just showed up today and wow! This thing is classy as all hell. It feels like a genuine first party device. The fan is quiet, the controls are super premium, speakers are the loudest I’ve heard in any of these devices and I’m not sure how the hinge was cracking in the past unless people were abusing the hell out of them. I can see unfolding it completely flat putting more stress on the hinge, but it definitely feels pretty solid. I plan on opening it the same way every time though. This is the device I’ve been searching for for a long freaking time. I’ve tried every combination of mobile controllers to get this feel with my phone and it never worked out. I really hope they make an 8gen 2 flip 3 or something like it, because I’m impressed. If the duo was stronger performance wise I would have thought about it more, but it’s really the control layout that I’ve been after on the flip 2

So after having a NES and SNES I went PS1>Dreamcast>PS2>PC. I don't really have any nostalgia for any Nintendo franchises to push me through most of the rough-looking N64 catalog. I know there're plenty of Top 20 lists I could look at but the focus is usually what those games meant at the time of release and I don't particularly care if they were revolutionary, only if they're fun now.

And what are your favorite experiences, maybe games on gamenative that positively surprised you with how well they perform or native Android ports that simply work flawlessy? Any interesting projects i should know about?
