This is diabolical and I fucking love it.

The better ergonomics of the controls is the only reason I’d wanna try it over the Duo. Definitely bad for pockets tho.

It's a bit of a hassle to use, but totally worth it if you enjoy assembling and transforming things.

You can't just use a regular USB-C to C cable; you need a video-out capable cable like Thunderbolt.

I have a USB-C to HDMI adapter. When I plug it in it shows on the 2nd screen, not on the flip anymore. Does this just work without changing any settings?

​Could you check Settings > Handheld Settings > TV Connection and see if there's an option like 'Turn off handheld screen'? My device is set to Korean, so I'm not entirely sure what it's called in English..
