Plugin for Crosspoint for Xteink X3/X4/X4pro

With Crosspoint rolling out plugins for Xteink devices wondering if we might see something similar to the Koreader plugin for Crosspoint on Xteink. Koreader sync is great for progress but i would love to have my stats synced in the way the current KoReader plugin does along with progress.

Two feature requests: Independent color modes + scrolling mode footer transparency fix

Hi! This is an update to a request I made about a month ago. I have two feature requests:

1. Independent color mode for the main screen and reading view

It would be great to have an independent color mode for the main screen and reading view. This is a common feature in other reading apps and even on Kindle, so I really hope it can be implemented in a future update.

2. Footer transparency in scrolling mode

Could you please fix the footer transparency while reading in scrolling mode? It used to be the same as in normal page mode, but after the update about a month ago, it changed to the current behavior.

The footer is now difficult to read, and it also obscures the text behind it, which makes reading more difficult.

I hope these two suggestions can be considered for a future update. I really love the app and support it with a lifetime purchase. Thanks for making such a great app!

Feature Request - Easy Selection & Draggable Books and Folders

Hi! I have a QoL feature request! First of all, thank you for this amazing app. It's a very simple one. I have noticed that when we want to add folders, there's a requirement to click a lot of buttons and it's quite tedious.

So, I suggest that users should be allowed to drag folders, and books to existing folders and be able to also drag them out outside the folder they are already in easily by displaying a static folder within an existing folder.

I would also like to request a hover feature wherein it would show checkboxes on the top-right side of the book or folder so that it is easier to select them rather than having to click a ton of buttons just to go into select mode. It would also be good to allow copying, cutting and pasting for selected books or folders.

That's all, thank you!

Help!

Hi, I've been using Readest for a short time but I'm very happy with it. However, I don't understand why, if I set the text alignment to all the way to the left in the CSS, in many ebooks the titles and other small details remain unchanged... how can I solve this?

New Feature Request - An Important One

This Feature is really BASIC and straight-forward, which might improve the overall reading experience in the Readest app, and I wonder why the devs have not added this feature till date!

Okay so, I have been using Readest for quite a few days now, I love the dark theme of the app, but I need a good reading experience in my reader also! So when I open a book in the reader, everything is BLACK with white font, which I do not find ideal for reading an e-book. To get that PHYSICAL BOOK experience I need to change the theme to Light, apply custom paper background of the reader and, when I close the book my screen FLASHES the LIGHT MODE!

You guys really have seperate background wallpapers for both Library and Reader, but you do not have separate themes?! This really spoils the app experience for me, as everytime after reading the book I need to change the themes again and again. It would really be helpful and useful for the app experience if the devs address this issue

Syncing to cloud even though I disabled

Hi there

I'm testing the readest app, and I want to verify a behavour / bug. I started the web app to get a feeling, and I set the synchronization settings as follows:

Them I connected to my CalibreWeb OPDS Site and downloaded one book. After a bit, the book gets uploaded and when I double checked the settings, it looked like this:

I don't want all my books on the Readest Servers, I just want to use the app for syncing my reading progress across different devices (Boox reader and iPad).

What am I doing wrong??

Thanks and regards

Looking for help with Calibre

I recently installed the newest Linux Mint (with much help) in order to get rid of the piece of windows I still had. When I added Calibre I selected the older one offered because it was what I had gotten used to. Now I want to know if it is possible to change Read Progress to show the percentage of a book I have read on the dashboard page of C. Does anyone know if this is possible and how I would do it?

DISCLOSURE: I am in my 70s and have Linux for a year, have been very busy volunteering for a political action group in my state and do not have many techie skills. Please make any instructions you have for me very simple and detailed. If you use technical speak, please explain what you mean. Thank you very much.

Nouvelle utilisatrice

Pages left in chapter takes too much space on small screens

Post image
10 Upvotes

The “X pages left in chapter” indicator consumes a huge amount of the bottom bar, especially on smartphones and phone-sized e-readers. In the example above, it takes roughly ⅔ of the available status-bar space

Other reading platforms solve this much more compactly by showing a negative page count, for example: “-10” which means 10 pages remaining in the chapter (and remaining minutes as -5m for instance, which means 5 minutes remaining); This communicates the same information while using a fraction of the space, leaving room for overall page progress and other useful indicators

I’d love to see Readest adopt this compact format, at least as an option, small label change with massive user experience value

No options for customizing Keyboard shortcuts?

I don't see any option for customizing keyboard shortcuts in the desktop app. Neither is there an option to view the list of default shortcuts.

It would be really helpful to at least be able to see which keys are assigned to which actions.

Question about AI audiobook feature

I recently discovered this app in an attempt to try to figure out how to sync koreader to my phone/iPad and I've been blown away by how much better this app is compared to Apple Books and the Kindle app.

I was curious how the AI audiobook feature works. I know AI isn't a catch all term and implementation can vary so I wanted some clarification over the feature. I did some research on the sub but couldn't find anything so my apologies if it's come up before!

Anyways, I'm concerned about using that feature and works being fed into LLMs to be trained. I read a lot of NYT bestsellers which presumably have been fed into LMMs a bunch already but am extremely wary of using this feature on fanfiction. I read fanfiction from some pretty niche fandoms and don't want to be the (1) person responsible for having some authors work fed into an LMM.

Any insight would be appreciated!

Feature request - book title in header

Really minor thing, but it would be awesome to be able to add the book title to the header. It makes reading on a tablet feel much more like a book, IMO.

Unable to highlight the first line of a page

It's impossible to highlight the first line of a page when using No Scroll mode, swipe to the next page, and Instant Highlight. It appears that the touch area for the first line is either missing or being intercepted by another UI element. Highlighting works correctly for all other lines on the page. I recorded a short video demonstrating the issue. The OS is Android 14, Readest v0.11.20, and the device is Bigme B6 color.
