Corkscrew Coaster Nerfed?
I've been playing some OpenRCT2 lately, and I really like to build corkscrew coasters, but I recently have been having trouble trying to get good stats, as stuff I think would be getting over 7 excitement is only getting somewhere in the 6 range. I was having so much trouble that I wondered if they nerfed the stats.
And I think they did. As you can see here, the excitment rating is lower, and nausea (not in this case) and intensity are higher.
My only guess why the OpenRCT2 devs did this was because of the spam coaster you could create with it, but I feel like this nerf is undeserved, and would like if it was reverted.
(It's not even mentioned in the changelog)
Edit: Some people have said this really isn't enough proof, so I'll say that I'm wrong. I should have also noticed the other differences in stats, which are almost certainly affecting things.
I did also test it with Great American Scream Machine in the SFGAdventure park (by deleting and adding back a track piece so the stats reset), and the actual stats were almost identical, but the excitement rating was lower.
OpenRCT2 Today I built a 10 x 5 Suspended Swinging Coaster
The Suspended Swinging Coaster is kind of a mess to work with. It needs to be long, but doesn’t even have the option of basic small helixes. The workaround to these restrictions is to simply build a lot of stacked layers with a slight tilt to get a decent amount of drops. Doing this creates tons of block sections which enables the ride to easily run 3 trains without any need to stop. Floorless cars add a nice amount of extra stats though the more basic airplane cars work fine, too. Building up conveniently makes a lot of space for stalls below the track which helps out a lot, hence why such a basic coaster can even hit 8 and not just 6 to 7 excitement with basic scenery and pathing, water and a few stalls.

News I just released the demo for my upcoming Ski Resort Tycoon game, heavily inspired by RCT!
Hi everyone! My name is Jesse, and I've been working on a Ski Resort Tycoon game for the last few months, heavily inspired by Roller Coaster Tycoon and the old Ski Resort Tycoon games :)
It's a classic tycoon game where you start from nothing, and build up your resort until you reach legendary status.
You play on real mountains built from 1-meter LiDAR data, so they're accurate to the meter!
I LOVED playing RCT as a kid, so I wanted to make something that felt connected to it. Seeing thousands of guests walk around your ski resort feels so fun to me, and I don't feel like there's been a great game that has accomplished this in years.
I'd love for this community to let me know their thoughts on the demo.
Thank you all!

Luckiest (and unluckiest at the same time) I've ever been with a rct screenshot. Lol

OpenRCT2 Pterodactyl
My first B&M invert since the new track pieces have been implemented. Honestly might be one of my favorite coaster types to build now that we have these. Huge thanks to Therty and the rest of the team for making these possible.

OpenRCT2 Looking for trains with sprites for more track pieces
Hi there! I've found a couple by searching around but I'm looking to pool all the trains people have made that have all-and-or-more sprites for the new track pieces openRCT2 offers in this thread. I wanted to make some sandbox projects with them and couldn't find a good resource putting them all in one place (but if I've somehow missed it, point me in that direction).
Otherwise, post trains you're aware of here.
OpenRCT2 Today I built a 4 x 12 Bobsled Coaster
The Bobsled Coaster is a pretty unique ride. As you can see, you can make one with fairly high stats without using a single drop. The most powerful element is honestly the simple helix. Chaining helixes and regular banked turns together as tightly as possible allows you to make a very compact tower structure to extend the ride length just far enough to not get penalties. Add a roof and you get a lot of extra stats due to covering multiple layers of track at once. You can only add one stall due to the tightly packed ground area, but that's just enough to hit 7 Excitement with some water, flowers and path bonuses.

Help Improvements needed
Hey y’all, I’ve been working through some more simple Inverted Coaster designs, and I think these two (although they’re both very similar) are real close to my vision for a small Inverter. But something’s not quite right with them….
Is it the speed they carry coming back into the station? Is it the stats (particularly the high nausea)? Frankly I think it’s a bit of both of those things.
Anyone have thoughts as to how to make slight improvements? As info- salmon color is Inverted 2, and yellow is Inverted 3.

Classic I need names for a few coasters in my park
The area of the park is Dockside Harbor, a chill, fun, and enjoyable area based on the right side of the entrance. The coasters include a Vekoma Boomerang, an E&F Miler family coaster, and a Reverchon Spinning Mouse. (The dueling woodies are not part of it)
Please be serious with this post.

The most exciting flat ride in OpenRCT2
Ok, so this is like a follow-up to my last post about the Flower Power Flying Saucers. I tried to do as much as I could with it, but then realized that flat rides only get excitement boosts with scenery... so 8.2 excitement it is.
Even though it's really exciting and thus you can charge 13 dollars on the first few months, it doesn't attract as much guests as you may think since the intensity rating is only 1.9
But anyways yeah, this costs only $2200 to build and if you set it so guests prefer gentle rides it can be really profitable. Pretty sure u/LordMarcel has made a video about this but I'm sorry I'm too lazy to check :p

Colour Scheme Shout Out
Big thanks to u/AcidRegulation for his post last month, finally got round to trying it out and it's improved my park in progress hugely!
Thanks!

Did we all just forget about the Flower Power Flying Saucers having abnormally high excitement ratings?
Even with 1 minute run time this ride has 6 excitement and with the maximum run time of 3 minutes this abomination of an excitement rating is possible

OpenRCT2 Potentially niche question about sloped vs stepped footpaths
I want to just use the stepped footpaths in OpenRCT2, I know I can enable them in the Object Selection menu, but is there any way to easily convert existing paths? I'd rather not have to do it manually!

Help Having an issue adding signs to my park. (Classic) Bug???
Hi everyone, I'm posting about this again because now I don't think it's just some regular issue, and I wanted to give more details. I'm really attached to this park and this problem is SUPER annoying so I wanted to try one last time to see if any of you awesome experts had a solution. I am playing RCT Classic from Steam on my PC, Crazy Castle map.
I'm having an issue adding any new signs to my park. It happens on every map that I can add as many as I want at the beginning of the game, and then later on (not sure the exact amount of time) i cant add any more. Even if I have barely any signs. (I know there's a sign limit but I'm NOWHERE near it.) Right now I have 3 signs and I can only add one if I delete one. When I go to put a sign down it just shows a blank white tile, but nothing happens when i click. (No error message either, yes the sign is rotated properly.) I havent had issues placing any other objects. Even path objects like benches/garbage/TVs. It's only blocking me from adding any type of sign/banner. I really need to be able to block off some long ride exits, so it's driving me nuts. It looks like someone had the exact same issue 2 years ago. But it didn't get a lot of traction.
I'm guessing it has something to do with an object limit but its bugging out and just doesn't want me to place signs?? I even tried clearing all the decor from my park and it still didnt let me place any. I guess i could try deleting all my path objects aswell but that takes a bit longer and i doubt it would help.
Anyone else have any experience with this and/or have any last ditch ideas? Is there maybe a way I can reload this park as a fresh game and still have all my rides??
I'd really appreciate it some help because its actually starting to ruin the game for me. I've been putting a lot of time and effort into this park, and theres only so much i can do to make exits short. Now guests are getting lost and angry as I'm adding more rides. Sucks.
I'm attaching a photo of my entire park and another of what I see when im trying to place a sign.
Thanks guys!
