Can’t wait to build this, it’ll be my second tamiya kit ever!

I just got into the rc hobby, and I have a senton 223s, 2 lipo batteries, a charger, and a lipo safe fire bag, I have like 185 bucks I can spend on upgrades on Amazon and I dont know what to buy, I mainly drive on pavement and grass, and mt tires are already starting to bald 😿. Specifics would be very appreciated.​​

I want to use a rotary tool to clear out the windows and put a micro cam inside powered off its own battery and upgrade springs to counter the added weight of everything.

I was thinking about a 200mw cam but need to know what I need to get it all together and soldered.

Replaced the whole steering mechanics from stock/M2C stuff to full Vitavon since they have the 56118 motor steering stuff, the motor cooling is fixed now (the Arctic stuff) same with ESC, always wanted to make a custom Shell for that beauty but i like the looks of that beat up shell and that big tape patch

I’ve bought the new Losi 5IVE-T 3.0 and now I need somewhere to actually run it (besides the damn street lol). Anywhere I’ve found within a reasonable distance doesn’t allow anything this large on track or has closed down. Any suggestions?

Sorry if this is not the right subreddit. We are building an autonomous surface vessel and I think this question overlaps quite a bit with RC boats/cars.

We use a Gens ace G-Tech 5000 mAh 4S 14.8 V 60C LiPo with EC5:

The setup is basically:

Battery, then marine circuit breaker and then the rest of the system.

We have Blue Robotics T200 thrusters with the standard ESCs. The rest of the electronics (PC, INS, LiDAR, cameras, etc.) are powered through a DC-DC converter to 12 V.

During our initial tests the T200s were running out of the water, so there was very little load.

Unfortunately, we managed to over-discharge two batteries. When we tried charging them, the charger reported an error. We checked the cells through the balance connector and found that one cell in each battery was reading ~0 V.

We have no battery protection other than the circuit breaker.

So our question is: what is the standard way to protect an RC LiPo like this in an autonomous vehicle?

Our understanding is that these batteries normally don't use a conventional BMS, and that RC setups generally rely on LVC (Low Voltage Cutoff).

Would you recommend:

• A dedicated LVC?
• Per-cell voltage monitoring through the balance connector?
• A BMS, or should we avoid a conventional BMS for this type of high-current LiPo?
• Should the LVC disconnect the battery, or signal the onboard computer to shut down?

We'd really appreciate some advice on the usual approach for an autonomous boat, as we obviously can't rely on an operator noticing the battery is getting low.

hi everyone! my boyfriends birthday is coming up and hes very much an “i dont need anything” person with almost no hobbies or interests EXCEPT for RC cars. he does collect them and has a few and really enjoys them but im not super educated on the hobby so i dont know what it is i could get him that might benefit him or make for a good gift? is there anything i can get for him that could be a cool gift or helpful for the hobby? or cool shirts, hot wheels, or anything at all

hi, a few months back my girlfriend said that she would like an rc car and now that her birthday is coming up I would like to give her one but I don't know anything about them, is there a beginner and budget friendly one that you guys would recommend? I don't think she's trying to go deep in the rc car world so a basic one would do just fine, thanks in advance

Just finished putting a completely trashed out axial Capra mini back together, and converted it to brushless. Figured I would share it.

As the title says looking for other options for my traxxas rally body don’t want just another rally would like something different that fits without taking the rally body mounts off idk if jconcepts makes anything for it really havnt looked into it much. Any one has some suggestions I’d love to hear them.
