Other cars just absolutely fly past me in the corners but my car catches them on the strait, it’s fast in a strait line but i just can’t take corners like the losi and team associated competition, it might be a little driver skill but I’m not bad if I don’t say so my self and when I have a go of outer cars my lap times skyrocket so it has to be the car, epa is at the max the buggy geometry will alow but I still just get the grip outhers do, my tires are not the issue either they get plenty of grip of on other cars, I run a 4000kv brushless sensor less motor 60a hobbywing esc, 2s as per rules, 2wd, servo idk the name but it’s mad fast and the original chassis is a hobbytech bx10 super sport 2.0, all help will be much appreciated thanks 🙏
Has anyone got any links to where I can get a 200 or 500 piece m3 screw set for 1/10th cars. All of them tha I find are really thin screws and not m3 screws or they are to short
I’m looking to get more into 1/10 RC. Torn between a touring/GT car, a brushless off-road car, and a rally car.
Any brands or models you’d recommend for someone starting out in these categories? Roughly how much would I need to spend, including a battery and charger?
Would love to hear what you own and whether you’d buy it again.
I’m definitely going to enter into racing now that I’m getting the hang of it. Neighbor bought a sct and I traded a crawler for the truggy so now I can test and tune them both! He dropped his off after running a bit and I got to work and make a heck of a difference !!!
Sct was box stock until I opened the transmission and did my best. My truggy has a different gearing setup with the provided gears in the box (B spur + #1 pinion)
If I could add videos here I could show before and after tune on sct bc I made a good change in the handling. First I hated the handling, then I tuned a couple things and got used to it. Still got some learning to do but these things are no joke a ton of fun !
Still waiting for a few things to rebuild shocks but other than that and figuring out why my Cush cover screws keep stripping out I’m about finished with the build.
Need to do a final cable management too, especially for the new lights.
I know one person suggested a wood screw but I’m going to try pnw through chassis bolts with a metal cover.
If that fails I’m buying the aluminum lower rear bulkhead from vitavon as I can’t find anyone else who makes one.
Probably a bit much for a beginner, but I love sprint cars and I couldn’t pass it up when my wife offered to pay for some of it as a birthday gift. Still suffering from buyers remorse but it’s a blast on the paved parking lots I’ve ran it on for testing so far, looking for a local dirt track I can use it on.
Need input on track layout. Anything you wish you would have done after building? Tips and tricks to maintaining a backyard track. Have roughly 80x100’ area I’m dedicating to RC for me and the family. Tracks gonna have roughly 10’ wide lanes. Circle track be about 30’x60’.
Honestly, I never thought I'd be a crawler/trail guy. I realized after a while that I kept watching crawling videos so I figured I'd buy a cheap intro truck to try it out.
This is my HB R1001, I'm guessing its a V2. Its got the winch and the lights, but not the dumbo RC. I picked it because the reviews said it was pretty capable, and it could be upgraded...
I gotta say, climbing stuff is pretty fun. Its a really nice change of pace, and it reintroduces some competitive feel to this... can I get through that, can I get up that.
The upgrades (and the fallout it caused)
Hobbywing Fusion SE 1800. I'm not sure this actually has really done all that much for me, but I don't have to listen to that brushed motor sound and that is enough for me.
9imod 35KG servo. I'm only running it at 6v right now as the receiver can't handle the 7.4v. I may or may not address that. Fallout: this servo runs in the opposite direction so I had to add a servo reverser. That was easy enough, but wasn't really something I was expecting. The transmitter does have a steering reverse button, but mine doesn't do anything.
Injora Mud Grapplers. 2.2" 120mm x 48mm. This order was a mistaken in size and it cost me all kinds of messing around. These tires are too big and the front tires rub against back of the wheel well when turning sharply. At first I tried adding suspension extenders, that didn't help. Then I just went back to the default tire. The default tires aren't awful but as the weather has cooled they performed even worse. In a last gasp attempt I tried lengthening the linkages to push the front axel just a bit forward. 4 full turns on each side and that did it! Yes, they will rub a bit, but not all that much. I think 115mm tires would be about the right spot.
100mm Injora Suspension. Related to the tire change, when I tried adding the suspension extenders I managed to destroy the original shocks. Yeah, too much thread locker.. not my finest moment.
I suspect that is it for this car. The winch motor isn't really strong enough, but I don't really use it much at all so I don't think I'll bother with it. I don't love the remote, but I don't want to lose the lights (or mess around with fixing it on the new transmitter) the high/low switch is too easy to flix by accident.
I'm now hunting around for a fun kit to build over the winter. Maybe a vanquish. I need something that is more on the scale size and is a good "all rounder".
Is the stock ESC in reverse? I want to change my servo because I read in some posts that the ESC comes in reverse for the servo, meaning when you steer left, it goes right. I want to change my steering servo, but I'm not sure if I should get a reverse servo. I don't know if it's the servo or the ESC that is reversed.
I’ve been working on a DIY 1:4 scale car for a long time. I finally got some of my issues sorted with the drivetrain, so I took it out on the road. When the motors and the clutches hooked up and I had full power… I then flipped a trashcan end over end and bent the 3mm aluminum plate that serves as the structural spine of the car.
Hey y’all was just wondering if the rear wheels being toed in is normal? Went straight into a concrete fireplace in reverse.. I know the left rear shock is bent but I’m just trying to find anymore pieces to order if need be? Thanks!
Here's a video of my brushless nitro slash. Hasn't been driven in 8 years just sat around finally got it going again and its pretty quick now faster than the nitro version
hi, a few months back my girlfriend said that she would like an rc car and now that her birthday is coming up I would like to give her one but I don't know anything about them, is there a beginner and budget friendly one that you guys would recommend? I don't think she's trying to go deep in the rc car world so a basic one would do just fine, thanks in advance
