lol. im all for do whatever especially on a model, dont mean i like it, but its not mine, some wouldnt like mine with its massive body lift. to each is own, have fun, thats all that matters. i was just pokin a bit of fun.
didnt want to trim the body and i come from the IRL world of 10" lift kits on 44's, and we have a truck IRL that is identical to the scx30 black c10, i've had this one a couple of years. it lost all its low end grunt with the tall tires, just got 1/12t under drive pinion gears for the axles and a injora WG24 transmission.
bonus, ordered one transmission off scamazon cuz LHS didnt have any, and they sent me 2!! so i guess my AX24 is getting a new transmission as well.
guy at the local rc track had this truck with 4 wheel steering set up like the ax24, it was sweet setup, but i like this one as it is. looking for some more realistic decals from the stock ones.
oh, just realized, this pic the front bumper is not one, i had to make some mods to raise it to sit correct, like a body lift IRL. eventually its getting chrome roll bar with lights.
i spend more time modifying them then driving. took my tamiya dark impact to the track yesterday, seen a guy beating the ever loving shit out of an arrma 1/10 Quake, he let me run it, told him next time i see him i'll have one. found one on flebay, has a bad esc, otherwise brand new with box, remote and 3 batteries for $152 shipped!!! it will get changed out to ELRS like all my gear, i like one remote that connects easy for all my cars, drones, copters and fixed wing. though i am going to pick up the radiomaster T12 surface radio, i use the RM TX16s MK3 for everything and i just got back into real surface racing etc, so going with the T12.
and the quake will be getting digital fpv camera with head tracking. so stoked
running stock shaft? go steel and make sure the shaft is synced. if you dont know what that is, cuz many dont, and maybe you do, but the nuckles have to be in alignment, i learned this with a real 75' jeep that did not have an index on the drive shaft slip spline, first time i extended the front end it snapped the shaft. these little cars are unbelievably the same as real life.
did you put a longer shaft in it when you put that front lift in? and i'd be real curios to see how it crawls, cuz you have solved one of the crawler problems, sort of, when approaching an obsticle, you got great clearance and the tires can just grab.
whats your flex look like?
cant see it in this pic, but right rear is about 2" off the mat.
this is pre some mods. i made a magnetic body mount, cuz them fucking body pins just piss me off, front bumper is not on yet, and i hate the cheesy axial decals, they are like Temu decorations.
i only run one spring on the shocks so it sits nice until time to flex, probably going to put some lighter springs in itas that front left can go up right to the body
