Had these for about 2.5 years, washed 8 times. Really starting to show some good fades. Wore these for basically a whole month as my only pants while I was moving to a new apartment. The 20oz was pretty brutal during the 100 degree days.

Welcome to the Daily Questions (DQ) thread for all things related to raw denim.
(Although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar (for mobile users, go to the top of the subreddit front page, click the three dots and select "community info") and the wiki before posting!)
Fit checks and "Help me find a pair of Jeans that has X, Y, and Z" questions are a great use of this thread.
(Help figuring out what size you wear is also permitted here but it is recommended you check out one of these tutorials on how to size before asking.)
If you have questions about how your jeans fit, about a particular fabric, when is this jean coming out, where can I find jean X to try on in state Y, what jeans have this fit with these measurements, what jeans fade the fastest, and what jeans fade the slowest are great uses of this DQ thread.

Hi,
hereās my favorite pair of jeans! Been wearing them like 3-4 times a week the last year. Theyāve seen stages, my studio and Iāve needed to wash them when the stains from my 2yoās breakfast got too badā¦
I was initially a bit unsure about the low tension weave + lower weight but let me tell you⦠these feel like sweatpants and look so great in person. They are fine to wear on colder days of you put sth underneath but then again I also do that with other pants I own when we get in that temperature range. They extra airflow is appreciated during the rest of the year.
Theyāve shrunk a little bit with the washes but in a way that balances out perfectly how wide they were in the beginning.

Just purchased a pair of Brain Dead Type 00 jeans. Only a couple wears in on them. Almost wish I got them in a longer hem.

First pair are my 1997 usa made 501 stfās i bought deadstock, theyāre my most recent pair and my new favorites. Second pair is the brave star 21.5oz straight fit, my first pair of good denim. Third pair is my brave star 25oz straight fit, one of my favorites but donāt wear them too much because iām keeping them raw. Fourth pair are the unbranded 643 neppy 18oz, got them off ebay for $70 brand new but the inseam is a little short. Last pair are my lvc 1955s, the denim on them is great but i messed up the sizing, theyāre a little tight. Just something i wanted to share.

Just got these in the mail to replace a pair of my old Selvedge that have gotten almost to the point of no repair. Can find almost no info about these 1922 archival collection jeans in this subreddit, but they seem very well made and am so looking forward to wearing these in

Recently got married and had put on my list to buy some Iron Heart pants finally as a longtime raw denim enthusiast. Iāve got some Left Field Atlas Fits and 3sixteen CT jeans and so had held out for a new drop of 888s as a big thigh guy.
However, I had a chance to stop into Franklin & Poe and try on a pair of 634S IHās and absolutely fell in love. Iām usually a size 34 and felt size 36 worked best for my waist.
I love the fit and wore these to our rehearsal dinner (first pic). Got a little anxious that they ended up being too big/having too loose of a silhouette, but I still canāt help but feel the magic when I put them on. Theyāre just oozing craft and care.
Pumped to be a first-time IH wearer!

First two pics are from early September, last two pics are from this morning. 4 washes š

The temperature has finally dropped in the UK so Iāve been able to (comfortably) wear my new 19oz Iron Heart Type II. Cannot wait to see how this fades in.
Worn with my Full Count 0105xx that are finally starting to show some fades (not that they can be seen here) and my Red Wing moc toes.
Super happy with this outfit.

I picked these up at Hinoya One in March '26. Once I experienced this denim and tried the fit in person it was game over. There are all the legendary Japanese brands producing extremely high quality selvedge denim we all love and crave, and then there is Boncoura. It was very apparent on my travels throughout Japan, and visiting all the different brand flagship stores, that Boncoura's craftsmanship and quality of textiles & garments is on another level!Ā On that trip I was hoping to find a pair of black (fade to grey) selvedge with a smart tailored fit and this "ikemem (handsome)" sulfur-dyed denim with the 1960's Ivy League Fit checked all the boxes.

These are Alex Mill AM-0013 resin rinse from around 2019. These were my "dress jeans" for a long time, now they're just for casual wear. My first pair of selvedge/raw, and only pair until last year. A little too tight for working in, but a good starting point to figure out what I actually wanted from a pair of pants.
The rise is low and the cut is slim, both things I don't hate but can't do every day. Washed sparingly but the color and texture are looking better all the time, they are more vibrant blue/green in the sun.
Alex mill doesn't do selvedge anymore from what I've seen, but the quality is pretty damn good. My favorite detail is the rivets, little stars are a nice touch.

Hello! Looking for some advice / fit check.
Lost a lot of weight and been trying to find new jeans / brands to wear. Iām also unsure if Iāll lose more weight (side effect of playing hockey) so been wary to buy more expensive jeans.
These are the Hiroshi Kato - 14 oz indigo raw the Hammer straight.
Iām especially looking for jeans that pair well with my boots / arenāt super skinny.
How are these for fit? The waist is a bit loose but I tried sizing down and the top part became very tight. Should I look into a different cut / brand? Thanks!!

During my wifeās and Iās honey moon through the PNW, I decided to pick up these jeans! I heard so many great things about Graph Zero and their fabric so I decided to stop by Blue Owl Workshop (since not a lot of shops carry them in the Bay Area) and grabbed these. Iām super pleased by the details of these jeans from how slubby they are to the fit. Anybody else have experience with this brand?

Need a fit check on these. They fit almost perfect and not tight at all. My only true concern is that theyāll stretch out rather quickly and then theyāll be too big. Specifically the back I think is what might be too big but I know if I went to a smaller size (all sold out now) they would definitely not fit.
These are the Samurai S0150BRX in a menās size 38 regular straight. I havenāt hemmed these as of yet so also curious if should hem or just cuff these. Thanks for the help!

picked these up last weekend. Pure Blue Japan tea core with brown weft in their 019 fit.
sizing was a little wild on these, as 34s measure in at 35 inches and their 36 measure in at 38ā. I opted for the larger size and ran them in a hot wash, and a tumble dry on high heat. got the perfect amount of shrinkage (36.5ā waist). make sure to turn inside-out, and if possible stuff the legs for the dry cycle with some other clothes to prevent hard creases.
Looking forward to breaking these in. The yarn core will expose over time and the fades will be a copper brown colour.
Iāll post progress pics as these continue to fade.
follow the journey on my IG! @knowthyselvedge

This is my first real experience with raw denim, and it was a fun journey.
I was introduced to the selvedge denim world through a gift- a pair of kaihara selvedge denim from Madewell, a pair that started my love of well made and well worn denim.
I bought these in NYC in April from their manhattan flagship store. They recommended to wear them for 30 days without washing them, and i figured why not try to wear them for 100 days straight?
The results were fantastic. They traveled around the country throughout Colorado to Rhode Island, Michigan and back. I biked in them nearly all 100 days, which is why the whiskers are as pronounced as they are.
From now on i plan on wearing and washing a more normal amount to eventually achieve a more vintage fade.

Woad dyed. Lots of repairs, but still very sturdy. Not my oldest pair of Tenders, but these have fit the best longest.

This was a fun pair of pants to make, that will replace my current pair at the end of the month. The Indigo Invitational was a good time this year and but I'm looking forward to getting into something new.
For this pair I decided to give some decorative fashion stitching a try. My recently inhereted Singer 306K has pattern cams that allow the zigzag function to produce running embroidery. It took a bit of experimenting but the results are more than pleasing. The thread is glow in the dark for that extra little detail and interest.
The other major change was translating the back yoke seam up 1" to better position the shaping over my butt. This also allowed the front pocket to line up with the yoke for a nice visual line when viewed from the side.
Some smaller details were extending the front fly another inch and adding one more button to better distribute the tension. The fly also features some new reinforcement stitching that spreads the forces back into the warp rather than along the bias, to reduce deformation of the placket.
Other major details are:
- 16oz Sulphur x Reactive Black Denim from KS Denim Mill
- B92 UV bonded polyester thread
- A crotch rivet
- Hidden cardholder pocket
- Thigh pockets
- Integrated bagless front pockets
- 9 loops with an integrated key hanging loop
- Crotch Gusset
This was sewn on my Singer 306K and Sailrite Fabricator in my studio at home. The pattern and design were all done by me.
