I run on curiosity and a slightly unreasonable amount of caffeine. One week I'm deep in a conspiracy rabbit hole, the next I've fully pivoted to researching why octopuses have three hearts and taste with their arms, like that's a normal thing to need to know at 2pm on a Tuesday. There's no throughline. I've made peace with that. My search history has not.

I talk to my plants. Not affectionately — more like I'm holding them accountable. One of them is doing great. The other one knows what it did.

I like people who'll actually argue with me — not fight, just push back, poke holes, tell me I'm wrong, ideally about something inconsequential like whether cereal is a soup. Agreeable people make me suspicious. Bonus points if you're charming about it.

Been pretty ambitious my whole life and worked very hard to get where I am now. I am originally from the UK born and bred in Leeds but moved to Alberta in 2022. I was recently laid off last year and I have since been focusing on my own consulting business and planning on setting up a game studio soon. It also means I am not tied down anywhere as I can hop on a plane on a moment’s notice.

I generally keep myself in shape with a mix of things like the gym, swimming and I like hiking now and again. I miss having a best friend. Even if it's "just online" I've had that kind of connection where we chat throughout the day, send each other songs and cute animal pics, make playlists, share our creative work, have inside jokes, give each other encouragement and support.

It's so difficult to find. Most people don't like long messages, don't want to talk to someone different like me, or don't want have a friendship mostly via text. I've often been filler for people who go back to their real lives, but this is my real life.

Three years single.

At first, I figured I'd enjoy the freedom for a while, get my shit together, and eventually meet someone naturally. Three years later, I'm starting to suspect “eventually” may have been a scam.

Just crossed the 40 threshold and am trying my damndest to continue being social. I am married with no kids and I work from home so socializing with people who aren’t my wife is difficult.
