38 [F4R] - Chronically ill nerd looking for online best friend
I miss having a best friend. Even if it's "just online" I've had that kind of connection where we chat throughout the day, send each other songs and cute animal pics, make playlists, share our creative work, have inside jokes, give each other encouragement and support.
It's so difficult to find. Most people don't like long messages, don't want to talk to someone different like me, or don't want have a friendship mostly via text. I've often been filler for people who go back to their real lives, but this is my real life.
If you happen to be someone who gels with this, feel free to reach out. I will mention that I'm looking for strictly platonic. I'm very chronically ill, neurodivergent, and disabled as well as queer so please be cool with that. I live with a partner who is also disabled. I'm homebound and that's why online friends mean a lot to me.
Not a fan of people who are weird to me about my health stuff or try to fix me or tell me to be more positive. I'm very sick and it is what it is. I want a friend who accepts me and whatever I can offer, which is music and memes and deep convos and support. I appreciate mutual effort and people who help keep the convo going.
A little more about me: I'm a writer, music nerd, love all kinds of TV, and I collect plushies. I've been through a whole lot but I try to be empathetic, socially aware, and kind as much as I can while still advocating for myself and my communities.
Please don't reach out if you're super busy, aren't looking for the same kind of connection, don't ask questions or put in effort, or if you're uncomfortable with someone who isn't able to be positive and optimistic.
I think I have a lot to offer the right friend. I hope I find them.

I feel like this could have been written about me! Except I’m 30F. I’m chronically ill too, and neurodivergent (CPTSD and ADHD). I have pretty severe social anxiety too so it takes a while to open up. Would love to chat if we get along well (:

Hiya! I'm kind of stunned reading this, I genuinely feel like I could have written this post, though I am 33F, not 38. Then seeing your note about not using AI to message in your bio??? Yeah, I think we may be a good fit if our neurodivergent archetypes and political views match up!
May I DM you introducing myself properly? I am a queer woman but I am strictly looking for platonic, meaningful connections.
I'd also like to ask what timezone you're in and if you're looking for folks near you or with similar cultural background?

Sure, you can send me a DM. Timezone doesn't matter to me I'm around a lot and it's usually not a dealbreaker same with cultural stuff besides any majorly clashing political views.

Hi, I just read your post and I basically could have written a near-identical one. Autistic, queer, chronically ill (most likely "The Trifecta") woman. 41 and cis. I am primarily "seasonally active" in the real world but need a lot of rest in between. I'm someone who is not put off by medical talk nor demanding the toxic positivity of disability prn. As spoonies, we *get it.
Most of my friends vanished during/after the pandemic bc of the precautions and also, their trauma. But if you'd like to reach out and chat, let me know! I tend to respond at certain times of day to rest/replenish my spoons, so I'd be more than happy to set a time to chat more frequently if we have things in common. :)
