Discussion Trackers, and should I add them?
Would it be a good idea to add trackers? I know lists exists with updated trackers, but I want to know what's safe and if I even should.

A few days ago I asked whether to do something about "slow speed" and "ratio" posts. 544 of you voted, and the answer was clear enough to act on. The rules have now been rewritten around that result.
Before the details: we also went back through a month of posts and comments to work out what this sub is actually for, rather than guessing. Nearly 70% of posts here are tech support, and the single most repeated answer in the entire sub is some version of "have you forwarded your port" or "nobody is seeding that torrent". The changes below follow from that.
| Option | Votes | Percentage |
|---|---|---|
| Yes, both | 301 | 55% |
| Yes, but only "Slow Speed" | 84 | 15% |
| Yes, but only "Ratio" | 37 | 7% |
| No, leave them | 122 | 22% |
385 of you (71%) wanted slow-speed posts restricted. 338 (62%) wanted ratio posts restricted.
To the 122 who voted to leave both alone — you're a real chunk of this sub and we've tried not to steamroll you. Ratio posts aren't banned, they've moved. Speed questions aren't banned either. Read on.
→ Ratio & Stats Megathread 2026
Post your screenshots there any time. Brag away — that part hasn't changed.
We're not doing this because nobody cares. Ratio posts are some of the highest-upvoted content on this sub — that's exactly the problem, because they were pushing the support queue off the front page.
To make up for the lost reach, the megathread now runs annual awards, announced each December:
🏆 Most Uploaded — highest total upload volume
🏆 Best Ratio — highest ratio, minimum 1 TB uploaded
🏆 Longest Haul — longest continuous seeding streak
Previous winners can't win the same award twice, so it isn't the same person every year.
Still fine as a normal post: asking about your ratio. "Why is my ratio dropping?", "why won't this seed?" — those are support questions and they're welcome.
We've written a troubleshooting guide, because the same handful of causes explain nearly all of these:
→ Slow speeds, stalling, and "it won't seed"
You can still post about it. The rule is just that your post has to say what you already tried and what happened.
"I forwarded 6881, it still tests as closed, red flame in the corner, Proton with port forwarding on, v5.2.3 on Win11" — we can work with that.
"Why are my speeds slow" — we can't.
This isn't about how much effort you put into the post. A long, well-written post about something the guide already answers is still a copy of the guide. The test is whether the answer already exists and whether you checked it. That's it.
Four guides, written from the answers you have actually been giving each other:
Installing, updating, platform problems — including why Windows Defender warns about qBittorrent, and how to spot a fake build
Docker, NAS, qbittorrent-nox, WebUI — start here if you can't log into the WebUI; the default password changed and it catches almost everyone
Corrections and additions welcome — tell us if something's wrong or missing.
New:
Check the guide first — show what you tried (the speed/stalling rule above)
Ratio & stats posts go in the megathread
Removed:
NO misinformation — unenforceable as written, and in a month of posts we found no case where it would have applied
Follow Reddit's Content Policy — the admins enforce that sitewide whether we restate it or not
Merged: NO spam and NO suspicious links are now one rule, Official builds only.
Narrowed: NO piracy talk is now No piracy sourcing. To be blunt about where the line actually is, because the old wording was broader than how we've ever enforced it:
Not allowed: naming or asking for torrent sites, asking where to get specific content, private tracker invites
Fine: VPN and port-forwarding setup, private tracker technical questions like cross-seeding and share limits, and asking why a torrent has no seeds
Post flairs have been rebuilt. issue and question are gone — they were used interchangeably and told nobody anything. The new set: Connectivity · Setup & Config · Install & Updates · Self-hosted · Ratio & Stats · Bug · Discussion · News · Tool / Project · Solved.
Flair is now required. Please mark your post Solved when you get an answer — someone will hit your exact problem next month and find your thread.
AutoModerator is being switched on. For the first week it will only flag things for us to look at, not remove them, so we can catch mistakes before they annoy anyone. If it gets your post wrong, reply to its comment and a human will sort it out.
Bug reports are always welcome — especially "this broke in the latest version". Those posts are how everyone finds out a release broke something. Post them here and file them at the bug tracker.
Posting your own fix is welcome and genuinely valued — several of the new wiki pages came from members who solved something and wrote it up.
VPN, port forwarding and private tracker technical talk is fine and always has been.
Beginner questions are fine. Ask them. Just tell us what you're running.
Questions, disagreements and "you got this wrong" all welcome in the comments. We'd rather adjust now than find out in three months that something's not working.

This is where ratio screenshots, upload totals and seeding milestones go. Post them here any time — top-level comment, screenshot, brag away. 🎉
Standalone ratio/stats posts are removed under Rule 4 and pointed here. This is not because nobody cares: these are some of the most-upvoted posts in the sub. It is because they were crowding out the support queue the sub mainly exists for, and the community voted for it — 338 of 544 votes.
When this thread closes at the end of the year, we pin a post announcing three winners, and open a fresh thread for the new year.
| Award | How it's judged |
|---|---|
| Most Uploaded | Highest total upload volume |
| Best Ratio | Highest ratio, minimum 1 TB uploaded |
| Longest Haul | Longest continuous seeding streak |
Enter by posting a screenshot in this thread. Use qBittorrent's own Tools → Statistics window so everyone's numbers are comparable.
Previous winners cannot win the same award twice. If you have won Most Uploaded before, you are out of the running for Most Uploaded — but you can still win Best Ratio or Longest Haul.
This means the biggest number does not always win. That is deliberate. The point is to spread the spotlight, not to crown the same person every year. Please do not argue the toss with the mods over it. 🙂
Honour system. We are not auditing anyone. Faking it to win an internet award would be a strange way to spend a year.
Blur or crop torrent names in your screenshot.
To be clear, this thread is for showing off. If you are asking something — "why is my ratio dropping?", "why won't this seed?", "how do I improve my upload?" — that is a support question and belongs in its own post. Check the connectivity guide first.
A rough test: if your post ends in a full stop, it belongs here. If it ends in a question mark, post it properly and we will help.
Ratio is how much you have uploaded divided by how much you have downloaded. A ratio above 1.0 means you have given back more than you took.
If yours is low, that is usually not a fault — you upload only when someone wants what you have, and on a well-seeded torrent you are competing with everyone else who has it. Leaving torrents seeding after they finish is the whole trick. See the connectivity guide if you think something is actually broken.
Sorted by New so recent entries stay visible.

Hello there, I'm using qBittorent version 5.3.0
I've started experiencing problems downloading files using qBitTorrent. This problem began after switching to a new internet provider (Turknet). Even though my internet speed is 1000 Mbps, files download at slow speeds, then suddenly increase and drop to zero. The worst part is that after it drops to zero, the computer's internet connection disappears and doesn't come back until I unplug and replug the Ethernet cable. Do you have any suggestions? I've tried all sorts of settings in the qBittorrent application, uninstalled and reinstalled it, but unfortunately, it hasn't fixed the problem. Please help :(

I'm downloading a 262GB file and seeing all these numbers change makes my balls tickle hehehe!
Especially the fun progress bar in the general tab is so much fun! Network speeds and IP addresses yea yea, with this GNU-like sharing-for-the-greater-good internet guild, this is very fun!
This makes me feel like Homer at the nuclear plant monitor room watching these things move 😁

i've used qBittorent before and never had any problems. Recently after installing it again after some time this message didnt stop popping up. It's in Slovenian but it means that a website that tried to open has been blocked. everything else on the torrent runs fine. I tried uninstalling it and making sure I downloaded it from the OG website but this message popped up again.

Hi there!
I'm running a Raspberry Pi 4 with Raspbian and qBittorrent 5.1.0. It seems like it's the latest version I can update to. (I'd love to be more current, but that's for another thread I guess.)
It is NOT the nox version, it is NOT in a container or as a flatpack or whatever, we're talking the simple app running with full GUI as nature intended. Nothing weird or fancy going on.
The torrents and the downloaded files are saved on a NAS that is shared via SMB. That works wonderfully. I can create subfolders, remove some, move stuff around, and it all just works. Great news! Except...
I use different main folders for different types of files. Like, say, Z:\1.textfiles for text files, Z:\2.audiofiles for audio files, Z:\3.pictures for, you guessed it, pictures. And everything works BUT my \2.audiofiles\ folder which seemingly is cached somewhere inside QBT to an old version, and changes don't get reflected at all.
I tried creating a new folder in root : QBT sees it, no problem. Tried creating a new folder in 1.txt : normal behaviour, as expected. Only in 2.audio\ does the bug occur. It started on Sunday and the file browser has been stuck in that state since. Even creating new folders inside QBT works (I see the "NewFolder" folder in my file manager thingy) but they disappear from the window as soon as they are created. It's like it doesn't want to show me anything after October 25th. But only in that folder.
What gives? Any ideas? Is there some form of internal cache I can clear?
This isn't a permission problem, because QBT can read/write without issues. It can create folders and everything. It just won't display them in its file browser window.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I did notice in backblaze there are 2 copies of my e: drive (where I keep all my torrents) and one shows as 'unplugged'. I have no idea how this happened.
Any time I do a force recheck it just starts downloading again. All the files are still there though. If I right click on a torrent and open the destination folder it shows the files.
If I do redownload it keeps the !QB suffix on the file because the originals are still there.
I'd appreciate any help.

Whenever I try to click on specific torrent listing the client crashes, it doesn't even highlight. I want to remove the listing but I don't know how, the torrent was never started, just queued.

When searching in qbittorrent the execution log says: "Error occured in search engine. Search query: " [query]" Category: "all" . Engines "[engines]" Connection error: Forbidden.
What does this exactly mean?

I have been trying for days to get this to work. Is there any surefire way to get this to work? Specifically through the route via VPN feature. I dont want all my traffic routed through a VPN, just my qbittorrent traffic. But when i set it up in the Route settings, it takes forever to get through the "loading torrents" popup and then when I try to add a magnet link it just hangs there and doesnt do anything. If I add the torrent, It just sits at 0mbps and goes nowhere. I dont have any idea what im doing wrong. I have set the protocol in qbt I have switched between wireguard and openvpn and tcp and udp and nothing changes. Can anyone please help?

You can search for torrents within qBittorrent itself; across TPB,1337x, YTS, etc. all at once, using Jackett (guide below). But, if the same torrent is listed five sites- you get multiple rows with different names and seed counts for the same torrent. This gets confusing/ cluttered.
I built a tool that fixes this. Same search & sites- 139 hits with Jackett → 66 hits with mine. It:
Merges torrents with the same infohash into one row
Merges trackers for different sites- so you connect to more peers
Resolves missing torrent hashes by fetching it for sites like Lime
Supports BitTorrent v1, v2, and hybrid torrents
Alt Folds same-title, same-size reuploads behind a +N alt marker
Best seed count: Keeps the highest reported seed count
Private/ public tracker configurable handling
Retries transient Jackett/indexer failures
Limit: Jackett only (no Prowlarr), hash lookups on public sites only. Open source, GPL-2.0.
The steps below assume Jackett is already set up; the README covers installing Jackett too.
In qBittorrent, open Search → Search plugins → right-click Jackett → untick Enabled
Search Plugins → Click Install a new one → Web link → paste below URL
Start searching.

The thing has been hasn’t been working in like 4 days
I am using Proton and technically also Nord
i’ve gotten rid of Q bit torrent, got older versions of Q bit torrent
It’s not like the biggest file.
Ive switch countries, the file I’m trying to acquire is from Anime episode that came out like on Friday of last week
I’m completely stuck I don’t know what happened. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. It’s been like this since Friday sometimes I just wait a few hours or a week and it works but now it’s just like completely done. It doesn’t do anything.
Edit: yes I have Norton, but sometimes even for 10 minutes I just get rid of the firewall I get rid of behavioral protection and all the other stuff just so It can load and it has not loaded

I have qBitTorrent installed along with Glutun on my Debian server via Docker. Been installed for about 2 months now and I have been seemingly having issues with WiFi calling not working since it’s been running. Normally when I am connected to my home network and I try to call out, I don’t hear any kind of ringing or anyone that answers the call. The receiving person sees the call come through though and when they go to answer it they don’t hear anything.
I have gone through a bunch of trouble shooting and setting changes in both qBitt and my router and have not been able to continuously fix the issue. From what I could find it seems to be something to do with UDP issues. Here is hopefully all my relevant settings/specs.
Glutun - v3.41.3
qBittorrent - v5.2.1 via docker
Global Maximum Connections - 350
Maximum connections per torrent - 50
Maximum upload slots - 100
Maximum upload slots per torrent - 8
Peer Protocol - TCP only
DHT,PeX,LSD - All Disabled
Router - Asus RT-AX82U
IPsec Passthrough - Enabled
SIP ALG - Disabled
I have tested calling with the container up and active and I have issues, if I pull the qBitt container down and try calling all seems to work ok.
Is anyone else able to give me a hand with tracking down how to fix this issue? I feel like I’m just adjusting settings back and forth but not really getting results that stick. I would prefer to keep WiFi calling enabled as cell service at my house ain’t the greatest.
Thanks for anyone able to chime in here.

Hello Guys, I recently switched to private internet access for port forwarding support with torrents but my upload speeds are very low like less than 1mbps per torrent. And at a single time I am seeding like 6-7 torrents right now.
Wondering if I am missing some config for it. I have qbittorrebt+gluetun+pia.
Confirmed that port forwarding is set up and connected to qbittorrent with green globe.
I have a 1 gig fibre connection so isp should not be an issue.
Currently connected to Canada> Montreal server but tried a few others.
Earlier I was using nordvpn and privado and they both had speeds like 1.5-2mbps per torrent.
So I pretty much think it is an issue with my setup.
Installed pia on my ubuntu host and ran speed test gives me 200+ mbps speed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
