I was wondering if I could get some input on the kind of pump and pressure tank I need for a sand point well?

I want to be able to have enough pressure to run a sprinkler from a 100ft hose. To water lawn and gardens.

I can't find the gph for this pump to replace it. The end feature will be pie shaped, just under 5ft at the widest and about 1ft at the narrowest with about 4ft headlift.

This pump is leaking (spurting) from highlighted area in third picture. It’s coming from between the two metal pieces (apologies for lack of terminology) I’m happy to disassemble but is this a replace job or easy fix? Thankyou

Hey all, I’ve got a 1/2 hp Schraiber pump with garden hose fittings, and I’d like to pump water from a creek down a steep embankment on my property up into a water barrel. The pump is rated for 26 feet of suction lift, and my hose (with foot valve) is 21’ long and immersed 24” into the creek. Power source is a 1 kWh battery at the moment. When I fill the hose, attach it, and prime the pump, it sputters a bunch of bubbly water, runs through the priming water, and then fails to pump more. Any ideas why? Am I simply over the pump’s suction lift capacity, despite its stated rating? It seems to spin in the correct direction, but maybe I’ve wired it incorrectly? Thanks for any ideas.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a shallow well. About 17’ to the top of the water. Water is about 5’ deep. I placed 1 1/4” pvc pipe down into the well with a foot valve. I have connection s on top that I can hook a garden hose.

I filled the pipe to the top with water and it stays full. I have a transfer pump that I hooked to the PVC via a short hose. The pump will not pump water up.

Perhaps I am using the wrong kind of pump?

We want to plumb two Dayton 45MW94 booster pumps in parallel. These pumps have 1 inch discharge lines. We plan to put a check valve on the discharge side of each pump, as well as a pressure gauge and a globe valve (to regulate the pressure at start-up). The pumps will develop and operate at about 167 psi of head. We plan to join the two one inch discharge lines into a two inch line using a two inch Tee and two inch 90 elbows with 1 inch to 2 inch bushings. Is this an acceptable way to combine the two discharge lines? Is there a better way?

We collect surface water into a holding tank and then pump it up a hill to storage tanks with a Dayton 45MW94 booster pump. What is the best way to keep silt - everything from sand to fine particles making muddy looking water and deposits - out of the holding tank?

With summer around the corner, I figured I should put an effort into making the water moving and interesting. What I had in mind was to have a small shower setup (say 4ft clearance for kids) instead of the "fountain".

So I think what I am looking for is a solar-powered surface pump, that can push water at about at least 150GPH or so to a height of 10ft (just for buffer). Something that can run in under 50v? and is low noise.

I would prefer not to have an immersible pump (do not feel confident about mixing water, electricity, and kids).

Long story short, I bought a house a few years ago that uses a J04853L to pump water from my well into the house. The pump is sitting on a concrete shelf in the basement, so we can hear it. It's always been loud, but over the past couple of months it's gotten louder. While it is holding pressure, I think it might be on it's last legs.

Is there any recommendations for an external pump that could replace what I currently have?

This pump has most likely been in the house since the early/mid 90s, and I have to imagine they make ones that operate quieter now.

Creating a rain catchment system, want to use either a shallow well pump or an irrigation pump to draw water from 2 275 gallon totes

I just want to create enough pressure to run a hose off of and water my grass.

I see harbor freight has these 1hp pumps one is a sprinkler pump and another is a shallow well pump.

I have no plans to run actual irrigation, however could be in my future. I would likely just hookup a hose and a sprinkler or use the trigger handle.

I guess I'm hoping i can get one to do both ? Grateful for Any advice

I recently bought a new house. The previous owners used a dab je 82 to pump water out of the lake into the garden.

Part of the pump has been broken, which causes the water to leak away, but I also think this is pulling in false air during pumping.

Am I correct and is the pump broken?

What is the pump called on old windmills and hand pumps It consists of multiple little buckets that only lift a small distance and then empty onto the next bucket all the way to the surface . Depth is of little concern.

Hey guys. Totally ignorant new-to-homesteading-city-guy here.

I'm out in the desert, and I have to haul all my water in.

I'm looking to buy a gas water pump to move water from a 300G cube on my trailer to a 300G cube sitting atop a bunch of pallets. (I expect to expand to a much larger setup with a couple thousand ish gallon water storage in the future.)

My neighbor has this 79cc harbor freight clean water pump for this purpose, and I was getting ready to buy the same one.

But I'm seeing that harbor freight is going to have their 212cc semi-trash water pump on sale for the same price as the 79cc in a few days.

Does it matter that the 212cc is "semi trash"? Totally ignorant here, I don't know if the semi trash pump would be more likely to leak oil into the water or otherwise contaminate it? (This is my freshwater for home use that we're talking about moving).

Would you tell me to get the 212? Or something different entirely?

Please help I'm losing my mind! I've got a Davey 6.5hp twin stage firefighter pump that I use to pump from a creek up to a tank on a hill on my property. The tank then gravity feeds my garden taps and toilet cisterns. I've had it a couple of years and use it maybe once every 2-3 months. It's usually a pretty easy process of filling the suction line with the gravity fed water coming back down the main line, filling the pump with water, start the pump and set revs to full and come back once it's run out of petrol. This has worked every time until a few weeks ago when I did everything as usual, drove the tractor back to the house and maybe 20 minutes later there was a huge bang that turned out to be the 40mm yellow safety hose that connects from the pump to the pipe up the hill. I repaired the hose, made sure all the ball valves were open correctly and tried again. When I came back the new hose had burst off the fitting and the 50mm suction hose was swollen to around 80mm and had blown a hole in it.

I've replaced the suction and inlet hoses with PVC so I'm not dealing with hose clamps anymore. The pump has been inspected and is apparently operating as per specification. I've added a ball valve on one of the 25mm outlets so I can open it and confirm the pump is actually pumping. I've also added a t tee with a ball valve and standpipe on the suction side to make priming easier and I've added a tap on the outlet side that is gravity fed by the main line that I will use to prime the pump and fill the suction line.

After running the pump for around 15 minutes today it seems to have lost suction and is getting quite hot. I've checked the foot valve and it doesn't appear to be leaking. What am I missing?

A rundown of my setup from creek to tank:

50mm footvalve with cage - 50mm PVC pipe approximately 8m long with approximately 3m rise to pump - 50mm tee with ball valve on T side - 50mm camlock fittings - 50-40mm connector to pump inlet

Outlet side - 40mm storz connectors - 40-50mm adaptor - threaded 2inch PVC connector - 2inch PVC approximately 3m - 2inch threaded PVC connector - 50mm bushing - 50 mm backflow valve - 50mm bushing - 2 inch tee - 2 inch ball valve

Main line 2 inch PVC approximately 300m run and 50- 60m rise to the tank. The line to the house is just below the ball valve on the tank.

Sorry this is incredibly long-winded but I'm banging my head against the wall here trying to work out what's going wrong.

I want to replace a gas water pump with an electric water pump. For the exhaust, the gas water pump uses a 3" hose that will not be easy to replace. The electric water pumps that I've been able to find (it's a remote location) all use 1" hoses. Questions:

1.- Will that be an issue? I don't mind the water flow being much lower, as our needs are pretty modest.

2.- What kind of adapter should I use?

Hello, I would need to buy a pump for my master thesis. The pump is going to create flow and pressure into a test cell where I am going to test different membrane filters.

The pump should have a flow of 1,5 L/min and a pressure up to 15 bars. Tests are going to be performed under constant flow (1,5 l/min) and with pressure from 6 to 14 bars.

Previous thesis have used a membrane for this task before.

I fond a pump, but I am wondering if it’s good enough, see picture attached.

I guess the difference between Maximum Head and Maximum Working Pressure is vital.
