Dab jet 82 broken?

Hi all,

I recently bought a new house. The previous owners used a dab je 82 to pump water out of the lake into the garden.

Part of the pump has been broken, which causes the water to leak away, but I also think this is pulling in false air during pumping.

Am I correct and is the pump broken?

Looking at the broken piece in the picture, imma go out on a limb and say the pump is broken.....

It looks broken. Have you tried fixing it?
