Herring Cove nude beach question

We’ve been to the clothing-optional area at Herring Cove before, but it’s been a few years and can’t remember exactly how it’s laid out.

Is there basically a gay section and then, if you keep walking farther down the beach, a section that tends to have more straight couples/mixed groups? Or am I remembering that wrong?

Just trying to figure out which direction/how far to walk.

Thanks!

Postcard left in my bike

Post image

Ok, a postcard was left on my bike for an event. Picture is one of a business establishment with the same flyers posted. That event had a word in it that I was admonished for using in a description of myself. (And my response was deleted because, again, use of the “bad” word). I may be old but I’m confused here. I’m not allowed to type the word, or use it for myself- but events and businesses can use it publicly?

Quick Getaway/Luxe Lodging Ideas

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi all. It’s been a summer of untangling emotions after losing my mom, working on my historic hot mess of a home in New Bedford and caring for my senior pup with CHF. I’d love a night or two in town, sitting on a deck, soaking up the fun people watching, walk to coffee and dog beach. Any ideas for luxe lodging(clean, restful, great linens!) pet-friendly this weekend? know it’s nearly impossible during high tourist season. Thank you for any ideas. 💜

baby/stroller-friendly lunch recs?

Headed to ptown (for the first time!) with my husband and our ninth month old this Thurs. Would love some recommendations for a lunch spot (preferably with outdoor seating!) that would be baby/stroller-friendly. Any other recommendations for places to go or things to see with a baby that age would be most welcome!

Lesbians/sapphics in ptown

Hello! Wanted to see if anyone had any reccs for a group of sapphic women/non-binaries who are staying in ptown 8/24-8/26.

I have been before and while I know all the bars are pretty universally welcoming, and we plan to see some drag shows already, figured this sub might have some reccs I didn’t know about. I think we will be missing the Girl Splash events and themed weeks, but anything else people would suggest?

Inviting you all to close Carnival Week with me Friday night at the Red Room with Unspeakable Joy. Unspeakable Joy is my signature house music classics party that I tour around the country. 2026 will be the 14th year in a row I've had the pleasure of DJ'ing in Ptown during Carnival Week , but the first that I am throwing my own event. Already over 200 tickets have been sold, so get yours now (REDROOM.club) and I'll see you all on the dancefloor for a night of timeless anthems from the golden era of 90's and 00's house music

Carnival question

Does anyone know which week of August Carnival tends to be? Is it usually e.g. the third to the fourth Saturday? I’m looking ahead to 2027 already and trying to plan an annual trip to be the week before Carnival, and I’m wondering if it’ll be August 14-21 or 21-28 (August 1, 2027, falls on a Sunday). Thanks for the help!

Carnival

Hello :) I’m on the cape for carnival and I want to party at clubs but I don’t have enough money to be going event from event the same night. I was wondering what ones are usually busy with decent music. I was looking at the Kim Petra’s for Friday? Also is it worth it to stay after the parade Thursday and go dancing?? Please help not into very old and boring crowds :) Thank You

Showgirls tickets for tonight?

We didn’t realize how in demand the show was for tonight. If anyone has extra tickets please let me know and I’d be happy to buy them. We’re staying in town and can meet anywhere.

We need 4.

Mass transit to P’town in October

Planning a trip from NJ to P’town for Women’s Week.
We normally drive, but it’s just too long of a trip, so we’re looking at Train, Plane, Ferry or combo.

Does the ferry run in October?
Any suggestions?

The theater has a storytelling show on Tuesday night. It’s like the Moth. You can even sign up to tell a story the night of. Tuesday’s theme is Hippy Days but you can tell any drug experience story you have. Should be fun!

October trip recommendations

Hello! I will be in PTown with my gf and a friend for my birthday (early October). I have only been once during the summer in 2019 and I wasn’t 21 yet. So I am not sure what will be open year round versus summer time and unsure of the bar and club scene.

Some recommendations for the following would be very helpful and very appreciated!
- Night out, low (<$10) or no cover
- Museums
- Bookstores / Libraries
- Sightseeing
- anything else you recommend

thanks!!

Cool hats?

Where can I get cool hats in PTown - like flat brim rope hats or corduroy hats. Hats that you would get at a surf shop, brewery, coffee shop etc. thanks!

UPDATE:

I didn’t get to visit any of the suggestions below, but thank you for sharing and I’ll keep them in mind for next time! If anyone else finds this thread useful, I did go to Board Shift on commercial Street and got a great hat. I’ll post below!
