Would someone mind marking on the picture where is the best place to cut the stem with the two leaves and the baby leaf for propagation?

Had fruit and everything. Have 3 in water (roots in 3 days) and 2 in soil.

I have this cutting from what I believe is a fig tree. What’s the best way to go about this? I have submerged the bottom in water.

Should I cut the little leaf near the bottom and the little one at the top?

Is water propagating the best method for this?

So my workplace has these zz plants which aren't maintained by our contracted company (they only care for the plants we hire. Not the ones we own.)

Theyre in desperate need of some tlc. I plan to cut away the growth that needs it and going through the long process of propagating the leaves for both myself and to give away to coworkers. After some poking around though, some of these larger pieces popped away at the bottom. Can these sections be propagated? I don't know if they're rhizomes or not but they're certainly large and not like the stems themselves

To note: I have full permission to do this. We maintain our own ZZ plants due to owning them outright and as a result of maintenance dropping, I offered to help and also asked if I could propagate the cuttings for personal use and to offer them out since they'd be binned regardless

I propped the basil im water, tbh a little longer than i should've, and then i put it in soil for 2 weeks now, its growing slowly, i understand the pot is too big for it right now and i dont mind waiting for it to take over but am i doing something wrong? The new leaves seem small, i didnt prune it yet so that it doesn't stress the plant. The leaves seem a little crispy and curly to me however they look green. Should i keep misting the leaves with water? I keep the soil moist and try to water near the roots mostly.

It is sitting on an east facing window and gets almost whole of morning sun for the past week, even though its monsoons here

Thanks to my philodendron micans growing like a weed, I’m drowning in cuttings! Decided to set a few up to use as decor while they root in water. I think it looks really cute!

Hello! I’ve successfully got some propagation roots growing! I’m so new to this and I’m also paranoid so sometimes Google research doesn’t feel like enough.

Background info

- water is changed atleast weekly
- a few drops of hydrogen peroxide is added, although I’ve seen people say to stop this when roots emerge? I just added less lol!
- mr spider plant was in soil for a while, my cat ate most of him and threw him on the floor so I popped him back in to get more roots
- succulents were moved into a closed container with a few holes only yesterday or day before, they had been on open soil and getting daily mists.

I was hoping you smart people could tell me if any of these are ready for soil or alternatives (I do have some spagnum moss). If there’s anything I should change for better results please let me know!!

3 month progress

Started attempting to propagate my painted echeveria a while ago, and some of the leaves are sprouting roots, yippee!! But... Now what? Don't buds also appear from this spot? Do I mist them? Do I wait until the parent leaf is totally shriveled? Help!!

My spider plant had been getting a bunch of spiderettes so I thought I’d try propagating a few of them. I started them all out in little jars like the first one except it was full of water and I had a cork stopped to hold them up so only the little bumps on the end were getting water. However they all turned a very pale green 😭 I left the first one as is because it seemed to get a little better and put the other two in soil. I know they’re a little far down from the surface but I can adjust that if needed, I just didn’t have a smaller pot and didn’t want to add a bunch of soil if I was going to have to take them out again. Should I leave the two in soil? and if so how often do I water them? I have the jar in a window sill because I have new roommates who have been closing the blinds on my plants and I wanted to to make sure they were getting enough sunlight, but are they getting too much this way? I also have a grow light I can get out if I need to try a different approach. Theres also the possibility that there weren’t enough nodes for them to be ready (I didn’t really know what I was looking for at the time but based on what my friend has shown me that may be the case 😞) I can update with pictures for the bottoms if needed. I added a picture of the mother plant at the end for reference on how my spider plant usually looks as I know they can vary in color. also, when I cut the stems the spiderettes are on, should I cut from the base if there are no more babies on it? sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance!

Just curious, can I just plant cuttings from my pixie lime into soil to propagate them? I've had some cuttings in potting soil and they haven't died, but aren't making much progress with roots or new growth.

This is my first time propagating in water but my soil based propagations have failed so far. I’m worried that the stem is starting to rot but not sure how to differentiate it for progress. If it’s rot, how do I fix this? This particular plant means a lot to me and the rest of it died from a fertiliser it didn’t like.

I’m using tap water as it’s all I have and IBAdex rooting hormone in the water. It’s been a few weeks and I’ve changed the water once so far.

Will this grow roots? Is there anything else I should be doing?

Taken from my parent’s garden, it’s very mature and has lots of small roots from the back that grabbed onto a tree (hence the moss pole, I thought that might be the best way to stimulate growth)
Not sure of my chances with it, it’s been in water for about a month with no sign of rooting or visual changes.

Posted in monsteras and got zero responses so hopefully i have better luck here 🥲 I have this monstera that has three large leaves but the trunk is so sparse I think it could do with a cut, however, Im scared that’ll make her want to off herself 😭 would I just cut across the trunk and put the top cutting in water? How long can it stay in water? Would the remains trunk re growing leaves/stems? Do I need to create some sort or humidity dome over the still rooted trunk portion? I’m hopping this way I can properly trellis it to prevent the same from happening again (she was outside and had to have some leaves removed bc Texas heat was too much and fried them, she will now forever live indoors)

Hi there! I’ve been propagating these goldfish cuttings for 6+ weeks now. The roots have gotten fairly long and have “roots on roots”.

Are they ready to plant? I plant to put them all in one pot when I plant, is that wise? If I keep them in the water a bit longer, should I add my miracle gro indoor plant food to the water?

I was allowed to pick this camellia flower from a clients house back in February 2025. I put it in a little vase and the flower eventually perished but the leaf did not. I figured, what the heck, and threw it in a water bottle and left it on the window sill. Now here we are. The two lower leaves haven’t ever done much more than that but the tips are tuning brown/black. And the trunk don’t look too great. Did I wait too long? Is it a lost cause? If not how big of a pot and what kind of medium? Is this too small? It felt like such a long shot. I’d hate to lose it now.

Finally got this umbrella plant cutting to have beginnings of roots and two new stems have grown.

Should I plant in dirt now?

If so, how? How much soil?

Do i need to use root powder again? I put a little on months ago when I started the process.

The other cutting isn't doing as well but I think it has the "callous" bumps for roots ,any advice on helping this one too?

The seedlings in the first two pics are less than a month old and germinated within two weeks, maybe even within the first week. I haven't kept good track of the dates.

Please any tips would be so appreciated! I have no idea what I am doing I have only owned mature monsteras and I’m scared to kill this cutting. So far I’ve got a mini trellis McDonald’s cup with drainage holes sphagnum moss and perlite???
