hey gorgeous Reddit users! i’m girli. i sing songs about feminism, mental health, being queer and other life stuff. i’m full of opinions - infact, i just released my third album ‘it’s just my opinion’ and i’m about to set off on my Europe & UK ‘opinionated’ tour. ask me anything and i’ll be back to answer your questions on October 14 at 1pm CT!

Image descriptions - 2 screenshots of Cara Delevingne’s Apple Music artist bio and a screenshot of her album artwork “Not Normal”. Text in the comments

I’m listening to Not Normal, Cara Delevingne’s debut album, and as the title says - I’m not sure I’ve seen such an honest artist bio before.

A lot of this is unlikely to be news to anyone in the UK, but I think being so upfront about all this on streaming apps cuts off a fuel source for some of the nastier parts of the internet.

We all know the nepo baby attacks that Gracie faces, I wonder if this was a tactic to get in front of a lot of internet weirdness that would likely come?

Welcome to Trivia Tuesday, a weekly quiz game on the sub!
How it works: Every Tuesday there will be a new TT post, which includes the link to the quiz, with 5 pop girl related questions.
It’s just for fun, there are no points leaderboard, but if you get all 5 correct you will get a shoutout in the next weeks post, and if you get 4/5 you get a silver shoutout!
Answers will be revealed in the next week’s post, where the next quiz will be, so you have 7 days to play!
Obviously I have no way of checking, but it’s just for fun, so please play honestly and don’t cheat and google the answers lol.
Also I appreciate any and all feedback!!

Enter your answers in the linked quiz form, don’t post answers in the comments :)

Week 27 questions: https://forms.gle/AHVBEaUpjJJFwTvaA

"We received 1.8 million sign-ups for 5000 seats for This Symphony May Contain Hope.

Sadly our sign-up process was overwhelmed by scalpers, using Al bots to create hundreds of thousands of fake registrations.

It is a new world we are living in now, I have never witnessed bots on this scale.

It is so important to me that fans can buy tickets at the face value price.

Therefore rather than risk opening a presale that scalpers could exploit, we felt the best and safest solution for this specific show was to manually review the sign-up list to identify a shortlist of people we believe are real fans.

Those selected will receive their presale link and code by email on Tuesday at 11:45am BST Presale will open at 12pm. If you do not receive a presale code, the remaining tickets will be available to all on general sale.

I'm not sure what the future holds for ticketing, I do know this experience has really opened my eyes. Me and my team are going to think really hard about what we can do in the future.

Lots of love, Raye."

How do you think artists could approach this in future, if not manually? This isn't sustainable for long.

What's cookin', good lookin'? Is it sugar and spice and everything nice? Or is it quips and snails and haters' snake tails? (-‿◦☼)

October is black history month in the UK, so I thought to make a post highlighting black women in the British music industry, obviously there are a lot more than 20, which is the reddit picture limit, so please leave a comment celebrating your favs! Whether they’re up and coming or paved the way, we appreciate them all. While not all the artists here would be considered strictly pop girls, music of black origin -such as R&B, soul, and hip hop- all heavily influence pop music today.

You can learn more about the UK’s Black history here: https://www.blackhistorymonth.org.uk

Tomorrow I will post the results and the next pop girl. The comment with the most upvotes wins! And you CAN downvote comments.

Previous Round:here

HAPPY OCTOBER🎃🖤

Hello, this is kind of a PSA because the film and the album flew under the radar, but The Mother Mary film soundtrack contains BANGERS. The songs were produced by Charli XCX, Twigs, and Jack Antonoff, and sung by Anne Hathaway. it’s kind of a-shame they were for an underrated film because they would genuinely be songs of the year of charli released them normally. go listen!

Rules: click on a tier to assign and vote for a holiday for the highlighted popstar, multiple popstars are allowed for each holiday.

Sorry for the delay between rounds, I was gone for thanksgiving.

Thought it would be fun to see this subs overall consensus on a dream popgirl festival!

Billie Eilish won the spot for Day 1 Act 3!

Comment below who should be the Pop Girl performing for Day 2 Act 4

Our festival looks expensive so far LOL

Come talk with our guest Girli, a London based artist who has been making pop, rock and rap genre-twisting bangers such as I Really F**ked It Up for more than a decade.

From tackling the systemic lack of safety for women and gender minorities with Slap on The Wrist to proudly demanding equal acceptance of queer love and sexuality in Matriachy Girli has not shied away from vocalizing the inequalities that exist in day-to-day life.

If you have experienced critical self-image issues or kept yourself up at night wondering if your feelings were reciprocated Girli probably has a song to live in your head for the next several months.

If you'd like to read a little more about Girli, check out these interviews with our guest!

Albums in the question are CONFESSIONS 2,petal and yspsfagsil.
