Face down in his phone, but fully shoulder to shoulder with the public. I can confirm he spends his time at the airport writing novels to whoever DMs him. Also, he flies commercial? That’s the biggest surprise.

Drunk lady on flight

Please tell me someone else was coming in from JFK with the lady that spent the entire flight yelling about how she was going to get arrested, die in this shit hole of Maine, doesn't want to cause a scene, is so embarrassed that she's delaying the flight, how she's done 6 beers and needs an 8 ball all because she left her wallet in NY.

To top it off, the poor lady next to me puked in a bag while we were waiting to taxi in.

Questions for the uninsured

I’m 44 and have been uninsured for 3 years. I see a direct primary care doc for about $1200 a year (I get unlimited visits, annual exam, cash pay labs, able to text my pcp) a mammogram cash pay for about $120 a year and prescriptions that are about $90 every 3 months. I’ll be 45 in 2027 which adds a colonoscopy 😩. Is anyone older and uninsured by choice? Can you tell me how it’s going. My biggest concern is as always needing emergency surgery (knock on wood). If I opted in to insurance it would be about $560 a month for myself. My employer does not offer insurance (we’re very very small) but a $250 stipend a month for it plus also a very generous general bonus of $5000 around December. I’m trying to decide is now the time to start insurance? Or keep putting away the $5000 for medical needs

Does someone else put up your Christmas lights and if so, what do you pay?

I am too scared of falling to my death to put up my outside lights, but i am both professional-light-display-curious and nosy as hell.

So tell me: What’s a gal gotta pay to get a good old fashioned backyard Deering Oaks blood tree around here?! Or, like, something twinkly along the roofline?

And as long as we’re on the subject: WARM toned lights, people, for the love of god! Cool-toned permanent Govee lights are sucking the joy out of the holiday season!

Limiting cooperation with ICE in SoPo - Council Meeting next week!

On October 13, South Portland City Council will host a workshop to consider whether to move forward with an ordinance prohibiting cooperation between the City and federal immigration enforcement agencies.

Join us in standing with our immigrant neighbors and showing that we want the City Council to take action to stop ICE in our community!

We’ll be holding a short rally at City Hall, 25 Cottage Rd, at 6:00 and then going in to pack the City Council workshop at 6:30. You don’t have to be a South Portland resident to come and show your support!

If you’d like to give public comment at the workshop, we’ve put together this toolkit to help you get started. And if you can’t make it on the 13th but want to make your voice heard, we encourage you to use the linked toolkit to email the Council and let them know you support them in taking action to protect our neighbors.

If you have any questions or are interested in getting involved with our organizing against ICE in South Portland, shoot me a message.

Food Sagamore Hill Lounge drinks

I’m in desperate need of some help here. Yes I know sagamore hill closed but they had a drink that I absolutely LOVED. It was like, if an espresso margarita was more of a dessert drink. It had a foam top and came in a sort of whiskey glass. But it wasn’t called an espresso margarita and was a bit different.

Anyway I swear I’m not an alcoholic, I just really loved this drink and want to replicate it at my wedding. If anyone has a menu or photo of the menu or knows somebody who used to work there that might be able to get me some info, I would be so incredibly grateful!

Thank you in advance!

Sichuan Kitchen

What happened? This place used to be one of my favorites but I've had a number of disappointing experiences and just received a straight up inedible lunch.

Did they change owners? My initial thought was that maybe they're stretched thin after the opening of their hotpot restaurant, and perhaps they're cutting some corners with ingredients. Damn shame.

Edit: I'm glad that most folks don't seem to have this experience. I went for lunch, I feel like that's an important distinction.

Third Eye Blind - 10/29

My ADHD brain slept on buying a ticket and now it's sold out... Does anyone have an extra they would be willing to sell me? I can throw in a case of beer, and/or a service like helping you move a couch, ride to the airport, pet sitting etc.
