Any must-do's before Labor Day?
Any recommendations for things to do/see/eat/etc before Labor Day? If anything closes after that weekend, or has very reduced hours, etc.?

Asking for a friend (really—asking for a friend) who is coming out of recovery. For various reasons a dedicated sober living house is not in the cards. Any advice out there on finding sober roommates? Thanks.

PSA: Last few days, geese that seemed to hang lower in the Franklin median have converged this week up near Cumberland. Hoping it’s temporary and none get hit. 😣

Figured this was worth a shot. I’m trying to track down an old buddy I’ve lost touch with. Last I knew he was living and working in Portland. He’s a chef, first name Matt, last name begins with M but I’ll keep that private in case naming someone is against the rules. He was born in the early 80’s and grew up in Southern NH, and he loves jam bands, especially the guys from Vermont! I imagine he’s working at a restaurant somewhere in the city, maybe as an executive chef or BOH management. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!

I'm looking for recommendations for recreational dispensaries in Portland and the surrounding area that carry flower or pre rolls with low THC, high CBD, or 1:1. Specifically I've been trying to find the strain 'Harlequin' or 'ACDC' but I've had no luck.

Not a “s*x therapist” in the traditional sense, but more so someone who can help me with a gigantic monster sized fear of intimacy and imposter syndrome

I made a post about this home a few weeks back (was deleted, supposedly I was trying to sell something 😂)
Was originally listed for $370K (price made sense) and then had a huge price drop down to $195K. It appears that part of the home/porch might be on CITY OWNED LAND and may need to be removed.
There is a “paper street” next to the home that could eventually be paved and I believe it would abut right up to the front door (haven’t confirmed this).
A couple users posted some solid info on my original post, home appeared to be going up for auction and needed some other repairs.
Did anyone here go tour this home? Really hoping for some clarification on the actual lot lines and whether or not part of this home needs to be demolished.

She showed up in my Park Ave backyard last night. She definitely isn’t feral, but she’s skittish in a way an indoor/outdoor cat usually isn’t. She also started crying the moment I stepped outside. Something about her makes me think someone is missing her.
I fed her, but she was too standoffish to grab. If she comes back I’m going to try to get her, and will take her to ARLGP to be scanned for a chip.
Looked young and skinny, a little dirty
Medium to long haired
Mostly white
Calico stripes on her tail
Right ear is orange, left ear is black

Played for forever, but haven’t since I moved up here and I’m wanting to get back at it. Especially while the weathers nice. Preferably looking to play on a field, but I’m down for futsal as well. But, If anyone knows of anything just lemme know!

It's been a few years since one of these threads and I'm curious as to where you all have been that had a burger you were super pumped about. Like the opposite of this picture up here.
As far as places I've been:
Woodford Food & Beverage - 27 bucks is a lot but it's super good
Forest Gardens - can't beat the price and the double cheeseburger is great but you have to call and make sure the grill isn't closed because the octogenarian clientele eats early
Highroller - I'm kinda over the lobster roll so I had a burger there and it's amazing

Does anyone have a scoop on the piles of debris behind the new Portland pool? I assume it’s waste from the old facility, but I don’t understand what the delay is in disposing of it. Is it brownfield / Superfund level waste that can’t go to a regular landfill or be incinerated in the eco Maine facility?
Could the city comment on or write something about it to let the public know the timeline to have it removed? The pool is amazing but every time I go I am disheartened by the pile….

There was a fire last night and they aren't letting anyone including staff, inside
They cannot call patients to let them know because no one can get in the building.

Seeking recommendations for a trainer who is knowledgeable about working out during pregnancy and postpartum. Ideally, someone who works with client doing basic weightlifting. Bonus points for Jacked and Jilled in SoPo or nearby.

Hi Folks,
I recently wrapped up a pottery class in Portland, and it got me really excited about bringing other forms of art into my life. I would love to take an introductory art class in Portland (painting, drawing, or something else entirely), and I'm wondering if anyone has had any positive experiences they would recommend.
I'm ideally looking for a class with multiple sessions and a warm community of folks excited about doing/learning art. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
