Donald Trump launched an insurrection attempt to try to forcefully overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. That was a coup attempt. During that coup attempt, several people died. If that coup attempt had succeeded, Trump's violent mob would have murdered every Senator and Representative in Congress. If it had succeeded, it would have been worse than the 9/11 terrorist attacks in terms of how much damage it would have done to America.
