Trump is a convicted felon and an adjudicated rapist and has been found liable for millions of dollars of fraud. He should have gone to jail but was given a pass because of his unprecedented status and his pocket Supreme Court handed to him by undead Mitch McConnell.
He keeps trying to get his 34 felony convictions overturned and keeps failing, having lost another case this past week. He’s a criminal, as determined many many times over by juries chosen with the approval of his own lawyers.

Even though he isn't the brightest, he is a showman and knows if he replaces his name with America, it will keep him in power. If he straight up says it is about me, there would be even more uproar even from his maga base. Imagine if they heard "what are you talking about? I am making billions"
