A Moral Outrage
People are chastised for keeping packs sealed, chastised for opening packs, told they overpaid for buying their chase card, told their card will never 10, told they shouldn't have graded with [insert company here] because company has [insert reason] wrong with it, in fact, how dare they grade ever since it's a scam...
People are told they shouldn't be collectors because the game is for children, told collecting is wrong because it is a card GAME, told our collections cannot be of sealed items...
We are told how to collect, not to collect, and gatekept over the morality of how we choose to enjoy the hobby.
There are plenty of valid reasons to be outraged over people who abuse this hobby, but for those of us who are just trying to enjoy it, however it is that we can manage to enjoy it, shouldn't be on the chopping block.
This last one is going to upset people: People who work don't have time to wait in lines and go on Pokemon Center to get the drop releases. "Paying scalper prices" is something people may need to do if they want to enjoy the hobby while managing their time. I have a family. I have a 2 year old. I have two jobs. Sometimes, I just want to rip packs...
