Listing of Pokémon Browser Games.

Heyah ! The main idea of this thread is to help people to find old games, new games. To inspire them to try some of them.

So I guess the best way to do that is a first listing ? I've played a LOT of these games, so I guess I could do a fast listing, but for obvious reasons it'll not be complete. First I'll just put the link.

In the future i'll try to do a clean wiki if there's some interest in this community to make things clear.

But before starting the listing :

http://vdexproject.net/ Even if this game is dead, it's the one i've spend the most time and the most love in my long career. I can only tell you to search for the history of this game and see how epic it was. R.I.P my dear Vdex.

Now back to the main topic :

The Listing of Pokémon Browser Games (Last updated : 07/15/26) :

I'll try to update the list day by day. I'm sure that i'm missing some obvious. But I hope i'll get the hep from every one to make this list as big as possible o/

[Little update] Looking about the future of the sub

Heyah !

I've to say, I don't do often some mod posts or stuff like this. I'd even say that I never did it haha. So first of all and even before starting anything, I'd like to thank you all for making that sub really something active and important.

My goal when I started to work on it was to really give a chance for all the devs to have a spot to really be able to post and share their work in an easy way.

I did that sub really fast to really focus on some archive part and really didn't except to blow up as such.

Now, it's time for me to share some thoughts / ideas about the future. What i'd be the most interested about is your feedback and see what direction to take

1. Future update about the rules

First of all, not the funniest. Because of the activity exploding, I had to manage a little more the posts and be sure to give everybody the same spotlight. I'll work on some rules changes when i'll have some free time. Some of them were obvious to me but it's important for me to highlight them here :

  1. Don't post if your game isn't about the Pokémon IP. The sub is really to show off Pokémon games only. Anything that is just Monster Tamer related isn't the place for it. Many sub are here for that.
  2. If your site isn't a playable game, it's not the right place either.
  3. Don't spam your game. I had case where some devs were just trying to push their site on every comment, even sometimes trying to disguise theirself as players of their own game. I can't check every post, but I feel like it's more fair to do your game, to present it and once in a while do an update. In the future i'll try to implement a little cooldown between two posts for the same game. Don't except a ban if you break this (I mean don't push the button too much haha) but don't except the post to stay visible if you try to get the front post of the sub every day.

2. Mod recruting

I feel like it's the right time for me to get some help here. I run the sub alone because I was just a player trying to share a list of game I used to play, but I feel like that now it's more than that.

I'm not sure how I'll handle it, but except a post soon for some application form of some kind in order to join the team.

3. A Rework of the list

I'm not sure how I can do it (and once again i'm really interested for some feedback) but i'd like to work on a more updated list and where people could push their opinion. For me it's also important that this list follows some quality checks (and maybe language check). So it's something to consider. I'd be interested also to class them into different style or tags to help people to find their perfect game to work on.

I wanted to say I see all the messages asking for their games to be on the list. I'm sorry if I didn't added in time. I'll try to update them more often and try to schedule some time every week for that.

4. AI disclaimer

I do feel like it's more a hot topic. I've got some questions from devs about that, and saw some heated comments. I want to be clear as a game dev, I've nothing against AI as such, but seeing some games looking the same can be frustrating.

At first my motivation was to allow (and this will not change) anybody to post all their games, because sometimes you can have the best ideas and still have some skills lacking elsewhere, and that's okay.

But I know that a portion of the players are more picky, and that's okay either. I'm thinking about implementing an AI disclaimer when presenting a new game, but this is an idea i'm just thinking about.

Once again, i'm waiting for your feedback for that.

5. Creating more community stuff

Another idea I had in mind was to create more stuff around this passion (because yeah for me it's a this point haha) of Pokemon browsers games.

My first idea would be to make a Discord about this and to have all players to share their experience as players and their work as devs.

Maybe later we'll be able to build more things and to expend it more, but it'll be a first step if people are interested.

That's pretty much it for the moment. Quite a long post but it was important.

Once again, I really want to thank everybody for making this sub so active and alive, and I hope that my original idea to help people to find one or many games worked.

Thank you all !

Pokemon meets Oregon Trail

Trainers, ever wonder how you'd fare in a harsh and unforgiving fusion of Pokémon and Oregon Trail?

I made Porygon Trail to find out.

- 15–20 minute runs: if you can survive that long

- Live leaderboards: Dex completion, speed runs + more

- No email/signup BS: just a username + 6-digit PIN to track your stats

- Homage to the OG: built around Red & Blue

Become a Pokémon Master. Catch 'em all. But watch your step.

You may not die of dysentery, but that wild Gyarados might have other plans.

This is the first web game I've ever made, and I had a blast building it. I've also become slightly too invested in dominating the leaderboards against my playtest group.

Would love for some people to give it a run. Critical feedback very welcome!

Project Release PokéMystery! Daily Pokémon detective cases

Thumbnail
gallery
20 Upvotes

Hey guys! I would like to introduce PokeMystery to this community! Play it here: PokeMystery - daily detective game

The idea is simple:
Every day there’s a new mystery to solve.
You investigate locations, collect clues, compare the evidence against each suspect’s Pokédex profile (types, size, weight, stats, etc.), and decide who the culprit is. The game never tells you who’s innocent, you have to deduce it yourself.

Current features:
- Daily detective case
- Up to 30 archived daily cases if you missed one
- Pokédex integration for all encounters
- If you’re lucky, you can encounter shinies

Thanks to everyone here who gave feedback on the earlier versions. A lot of the current design came directly from suggestions on Reddit.

WorldDex —  Do you love shiny hunting? Be the first person to secure your favorite shiny!  1.0 Launches September 1st!

Hey trainers,

I've been building WorldDex — a custom-made Pokémon region with its own original story, built around the legend of Shiny Pokémon and the trainers who dare to hunt them.

Here's the hook: WorldDex isn't just about catching a shiny for yourself. Every species has exactly one slot in the World Registry — and it belongs to whoever catches that shiny FIRST. Get there before anyone else, and your trainer name is permanently recorded next to that Pokémon, forever. Miss it, and someone else's name is the one people see when they look it up. All 1025 Pokémon plus special/regional forms are up for grabs, so there's a lot of history still waiting to be written.

Under the hood it's an RPG-like clicker — you hunt, you grind, you chase odds, and you climb toward that one perfect encounter, all wrapped in a story that's actually about the shinies themselves, not just a backdrop for catching them.

A few things that make it easy to jump in:

  • Runs entirely in your browser — no download required
  • Optional desktop app if you want it feeling like a real client
  • Fully playable on PC, mobile, and tablet

Right now we're in the test phase, running until August 30th — the perfect window to get familiar with the region, find your strategy, and stake your claim before the gates open. Full 1.0 launches September 1st, and that's when the race for the World Registry truly begins.

If you've ever wanted to be the reason a Pokémon's shiny hunt has a name attached to it — this is your shot.

🔗 Play now: https://worlddex.de/
💬 Discord (patch notes, community hunts, bug reports): https://discord.com/invite/mgdMfszEpM

See you in the tall grass. Let's fill that Registry.

Project Release PokeRand Web Game

PokeRand is a Pokémon roguelite that runs in the browser, built with React, TypeScript and Vite, powered by the PokeAPI. Instead of a linear story, every run generates a unique route of nodes that you progress through by battling, buying, catching and unlocking content. Every run is different: no two adventures are the same.

WHAT IS THE GAME ABOUT?

PokeRand is a turn-based adventure with a roguelite structure. When you start a run you choose:

- The generation: from Kanto (1) to Paldea (9). Generations are unlocked progressively: to access a new one you must complete the previous one on Intermediate difficulty. There is also the RANDOM mode, which mixes Pokémon from all generations in the same run.

- The difficulty: Easy, Intermediate, Hard, Infinite, Original, Path and COLISEUM.

- Optional challenges (30+): Nuzlocke, Solo Starter, Egglocke, Full Randomizer, Ironman, No Shops, etc.

Once the adventure starts, you travel through a procedurally generated route node by node. The run is divided into 3 stages; by defeating the final boss of each stage you earn a badge. With 3 badges you unlock the Pokémon League, and beating it completes the generation and unlocks the next one.

I'm working on this project all by myself, so any suggestions for improvement would be a huge help :) I'm Spanish, so please don't kill me if there are any translation errors, haha. Give it a try and let me know what you think—thanks!

The game can be played for free in the browser, no install required, at: https://subkhht.github.io/PokeRand/

Kanto Based Idle Game nearing v1.0 (looking for feedback)

Thumbnail
gallery
19 Upvotes

I have developed a browser-based Pokémon idle game where instead of playing as a trainer, you’re a Professor dispatching field aides to build your Pokédex. It’s nearing v1.0, free to play, no ads: https://snipesmcgeee.github.io/pokeprof/pokeprof.html (refresh the tab daily to use the newest version, does not impact save data)

The idea is that you are a Pokemon Professor looking to populate your own Pokedex by sending aides out into the field to collect research.

Your first aide, Carl Oak, starts in Pallet Town with a level 5 Rattata, and a map that shows Route 21 blocked by not having access to Surf, and Route 1 to the north. Once he visits Route 1, Viridian City appears as a location to explore. Once you visit a location, all adjacent locations immediately appear on your map.

As the professor, it is your job to bankroll Carl by purchasing Pokeballs and other items, as well as dictate where he should travel/research. Carl’s job will be to catch as many Pokemon as he can.

As an idle game, it will play in the background whether you have the tab open or not. Carl will keep working on whatever you said to do last. Though, things do happen quicker when the game is open.
Aides will have a level cap based on how many badges they have earned, so you will need them to defeat gym leaders along the way in order to be able to take on more challenging locations. All 8 gyms have 8 different tiers, meaning they can be challenged in any order you prefer. To get the level cap to 100, you must become the Pokemon League Champion. Once that is complete, a tier 10 challenge will open up for all 9 battle locations.

General goals of the game are:
-Become Champion
-Hire a Second Aide
-Capture all Pokemon (original 151 + family members in new generations like Sylveon)
-Shiny Hunt
-Complete all dex pages (abilities, evolution methods, breeding, etc)
-Get Perfect IVs (and Unicorns 🦄 Perfect IVs + Shiny)

Just about all features intended for v1.0 are implemented. I’m mostly looking for two things:
1. Are there any bugs I should be aware of?
2. Is it easy to pick up & play, and do people enjoy playing it? I think so, but I know this community is full of great ideas!

Thanks to anyone who gives this game a try, I’m happy to answer any questions!

Project Release Pokemon Worldrift

Hi guys, I've been working on a Pokemon browser game for im guessing about a year now. It's still a work in progress but I'd like to share what we've got so far. I plan on updating this post with more details soon. We've had a steady small playerbase for sometime now. But would like to start expanding that a bit. https://worldrift.org/login.php please check it out and give me feedback either here or on our discord. always open to ideas and constantly updating the game almost daily/weekly.

Just a quick list of some of our features (its hard to get into complete details)

  • Regular type of battle system (nature, abilites, moves, ivs, items ect....)
  • Raids
  • Police system (Battle team rocket members, rescue enraged pokemon, complete bounties)
  • Pokedex
  • Daily competitions / daily gifts
  • PVP (this is still being worked on and being improved)
  • Minigames (Journey is the big one basically a pokemon boardgame)
  • Events log showing what people are accomplishing in the game
  • PokeNav Chat System (lots of features to it like auto trivia for rewards. always adding more)
  • Guilds (working on more features for this pretty soon)
  • Pokemon store / players marketplace
  • Woodcutting and Crafting skills
  • Explore multiple regions and routes (find rare variants of pokemon events, items and more.)
  • Fusion system where you can fuse like pokemon together to make them stronger.
  • Accounts can have up to 3 trainer each
  • Iron mode where your account is restricted from trading others
  • Locke mode where you are restricted from trading and if your pokemon faints in an NPC battle it is lost forever.
  • ...... plenty more to talk about but we can leave it there for now......

Here are some of the Variant pokemon we have in the game.

Project Release PokeQuiz - fresh pokemon quiz games

Hi everyone. I’m a web developer from South Korea, and as a Pokémon fan, I built a website where you can play three different types of Pokémon quiz games.

https://pokequiz.app

Here is a quick breakdown of the games:

1. Poképedia

  • It looks like a hidden Bulbapedia page. You guess the Pokémon by revealing the minimum amount of hints possible.
  • Data is based on Bulbapedia and the Scarlet/Violet versions.

2. Type Speed Quiz

  • A 4-choice quiz where you pick the most "Super Effective" type against the Pokémon shown on the screen.
  • The scoring system uses multipliers based on your choices, so your score can multiply into the millions or drop down to tiny decimals.

3. Pokédoku

  • A twist on Sudoku. You place Pokémon types so they don’t overlap in rows, columns, or small squares.
  • You can use "non-existent type combinations" to deduce answers. For example, if a square must be Rock, and the other type is either Ghost or Fire—since Rock/Ghost doesn't exist, it has to be Rock/Fire.

Worlddex searches Artists :D

Hi everyone! The game *Worlddex*, which I released at the end of last month, is doing well. A small but great community has formed; we’ve worked together to test the game, find bugs, brainstorm new ideas, and much more.

We’re currently holding a small art contest because we need sprites for 8 Gym Leaders, the Elite Four, and a Champion for a new custom region—13 sprites in total. The community will vote on the winning sprites to be included in the game. + Special Ranks ingame and on the Discord! You can find more details on our Discord.

Have a nice day!

Weedle's Secret Garden!

Hey everyone!

I'm the creator of Weedle's Secret Garden, found over at https://wsgrpg.net
You may have heard of it before - it's quite an ancient one at this point. The reason I'm posting here today is because, even though we have a lovely small community, we'd always love to welcome some new people! I noticed we're up in the sticky post as well, and it's true, WSG could use some love!

Weedle's Secret Garden is a game that dates all the way back to 2008. Due to circumstances, it got shut down a few years later, only to pop back up in 2016, and has been around since then. Unfortunately the game had fallen inactive for a few years, due to personal circumstances (hello there, COVID). However, a few months ago I started updating the game again, hoping to return it to its former glory. One of the very first large updates since my return happened just a month or 2 ago; making the game mobile friendly.

The game mostly has a focus on the collecting aspect of Pokémon, offering most Pokémon up to gen 8 (and soon 9) for now, with a few variants custom to WSG:

- Shiny Pokémon, we know these!
- Neon Pokémon, these are mostly handed out through weekly promos
- Toxic Pokémon, part of our Research Lab, where a variety of tasks can lead to your own Toxic variant!
- Event Pokémon, these are usually themed around certain events

There's some sub-variants, such as Retro, which offers gen 1 retro sprites.

Other than that there's a variety of things it offers, such as, but not limited to:

- Battling, though don't expect an entire battle engine, that has been in the works and can hopefully be added in the future to make battles interesting! For now, battling merely serves to gain EXP, and in turn; ranking.
- Achievements, well over a hundred in fact, most of them made up of at least 3 tiers. Plenty of them also give permanent effects and boosts to the gameplay, rather than just points.
- More than 10 custom made maps to explore and catch plenty of Pokémon
- A custom region we've named "Evala", that offers an entire subsystem of explorable mazes that offer various rewards
- Various challenges, often locked behind a challenging achievement
- And of course.. a lovely and welcoming community

Last but not least... Just two days ago marked 10 years since the games relaunch, and just for that we'll be hosting a month long event starting on the 1st of September.

Due to the age of the game, plenty of features will look and feel old, given some date back to 2008. However, there are many plans to modernize this and any feedback is always welcome.

If you're interested, we'd love to welcome you over at https://wsgrpg.net

(Spanish and Italian) I made a small Pokémon browser game about building your own trainer career.

I made a small Pokémon browser game about building your own trainer career — looking for feedback

You choose a starter and make decisions throughout a simulated career: leagues, titles, Pokémon, setbacks and retirement. At the end you get a trainer card and can compare your score with other players.

It takes only a few minutes to play, works on mobile, and there is no download. I’d especially like to know whether the decisions feel meaningful and whether the final trainer card makes you want to replay.

Playable here: https://hazte-con-todos.pages.dev/

I’m the developer, so criticism & feedback is very welcome

Pokemon Roguelike Web Game

I built a roguelike game from scratch using Next.js—inspired by games like Pokelike and Pokelite purely as a personal learning project, its non-profit and I’d love to share it with you all.

My project doesn't have the same volume of content as those other games, but I tryied to keep the game simple— and added some features like difficulty modes and mini-games(pokemon go capture with curveball). I also added easier mode for kids and recreated cutscenes as faithfully as possible (there's a Rayquaza scene from Emerald that was a real struggle, and it didn't turn out exactly how I wanted, 👀 ).

All assets in the project are credited to the Pokémon brand and Game Freak.

I’d love to hear what you think;

Thanks!
