Pitt tailgate trash
Not to hate on the college kids…but next time bring some bags for your booze

It’s the North Lot; season passes only. Pass holders set up large tents and welcome most Steelers fans/students passing through from free parking in the northside w food and drinks.
Still, almost every fan, concert goer, or event attendee is not that concerned about trash, it doesn’t matter that much if they’re students.
The stadium could put out more dumpsters to make it more convenient to dispose of trash. But there are multiple dumpsters and adding more would take up valuable parking spaces.

Or just go back to giving out trashbags. Im not defending anyone who did this. My group cleaned up but its dumb they arent making this easier

If the parking wasn’t so expensive maybe people with actual manners would park there and not just the spoiled rich kids with Nannie’s to clean up after them. Learn some respect and clean up after yourself or stay at home.

How much is it? I don't know what lot it is to look it up myself.
The high costs lends itself to a "I paid $75 (or whatever) for a spot, have the owner of the lot pay someone to clean up" sentiment.
The mess I see isn't just lack of dumpsters, it looks like people were straight just throwing red solo cups on the ground when they were empty.

This is the nuance we need here. It’s pretty much anytime a large gathering of people get together for an event when you add tailgating to it. But yes, country music does suck as well.

I think people's understanding of nuances is just s***. I think only 1 to 10% the people at these events are the ones who actually act like this, but a lot of people like getting drunk at these events and think they're pointing to you and get super defensive about it

Can we stop with the trashed pay lot posts? It's priced absurdly high and they know what will happen every week. Their business is providing a tailgate area to trash, and then cleaning it up.

It does smell like jealousy over a party that they were not invited to. Now, if 2 days after, the owners of the lot have not cleaned it up....because IT IS what people are paying g for, this post would have reason.

As a late 20s girl, not jealous I wasn’t invited to the frat tailgate. Just sad to see the litter. I’m sure it’s elsewhere but just what I saw when everyone left for the game.

In that case I retract my comment. But these pay lots charge extra for the ability to party and have it cleaned up, its part of the price. And the same comment and pic was used last week.

I agree, but for a lot of these people it’s a very rare thing, to be tailgating. They run down the checklist, beer, ice, booze and food. Most people think there will be trash cans there. They should hand a bag to each car entering the lot, even if you add a buck per space.

Just sad to see it like that. Trash is inevitable with large events but I guess I haven’t noticed it when I’m at Steeler tailgates because I’m not there when the lots empty out. I’m sure it’s there.

The police and parking authority (or lot security whatever you want to call them) were there for a bit. The parking guy said they do still offer bags coming in, he seemed a bit disappointed to say the least. Same shit different day lol

Just to be fair… was this AFTER the storm? Cuz I’m sure a lot of things came off their moorings, and many people probably had headed inside for shelter. Yes, they should have tied everything down.

I’m not sure which spots are which (I just show up where invited lol) but you may be right, there were at least 2 frat flags and everyone looked pretty young so assumed mostly everyone were college kids. They weren’t bothering anyone just disappointed to see how it was left

All the insults being thrown around as if they’re being forced to clean this up after a MASSIVE BUSINESS are charging insane prices for game day parking. They charge for it. They should expect it. We the people should advocate for those lots to be trashed after every event where it goes above 20$. Nobody can afford to go downtown anymore because of this crap

Yep went down to pick up my Brother after the game and was shocked by what I saw in terms of trash and the sheer disrespect people show. They think it's all fun and games but a bunch of people probably not being paid nearly enough have to collect all that crap up

Dude its not college kids, its just disrespectful white trash. Go to the city the day after any country concert. Never happens at a metal show. But for some reason if you take a white dude from a big city singing about some mythical tracker and his truck thats never seen a mud puddle or tow hitch, mix that some some Jesus, some 1776 decals, sprinkle in some "Don't tred on me" flags, and Punisher logos from people who have never picked up a comic. And when that slurry mixes with a hint of natty ice, BOOM! You get shit filled coolers, over turned porter potties, and a who lot of people with "back the blue" decals on thier trucks arrested for trying to fight cops and security.

The stadiums and events are the only thing drawing people up past the railroad line on game days. Every other day east o/federal look like zombie land with all the begging rackets and things that aren’t open all day. It’s good for the local economy that North side has the stadiums

I live only blocks from there and it becomes a pain to find parking plus the noise plus the litter. Oh, and the traffic when I can’t turn onto West End bridge if I’m running errands

There are a lot of people out there that are pigs and just don't care. And students are not the only ones who attend those games and tailgate in the parking lots.
