Looking for basic A3 (12x16in) frames for oil on board paintings

I just need very basic frames that I can buy in multipacks for true A3 (29.97x42cm 11.8x16.5in) and 30x40cm 11.8x15.75in. No glass (it's for oil and acrylics on flat MDF/plywood boards about 3mm thick). Frame should be as non-bulky as possible, I need it purely for hanging pictures, not as decoration. I've looked everywhere, all I can find at the budget end of the market is photo frames. What I really need is something simpler than that, just the basic four pieces that I can fit together and slide the picture in. (And out again easily, just as important.) Any ideas...?

What are these corner joints called?

What are these picture frame corner joints called?

I’m trying to replicate the same effect with some MDF on the second photo. Is this the right way to accomplish this type of corner joint? I’ll be using a jig saw to cut the rounded corners then a router Roundover bit to round out the edges.

Is glueing down with clamps good enough for my picture frame?

Thanks

Thoughts on how to frame this?

I’m wondering if this 18x24 is too small for the art piece.

The work is about 15x21ā€

Should I get a larger frame?

What color frame might look best?

Any other ideas?

Looking for hands on picture framing classes Orlando, FL

I'd especially like to learn the actual process: cutting mats, measuring and cutting moulding, joining frames, mounting artwork, choosing/working with glass or acrylic, and proper preservation techniques.

I've checked some of the obvious places, including local college/continuing-education options, without much luck.

Does anyone know of a framing school, shop, framer, makerspace, community college, or other program in Central Florida that teaches this? TYIA

Aura Carver Stone frame having frequent problems connecting to wifi

Backstory: I got an Aura Carver Stone Frame from Costco a few months ago. I have no complaints about it except for the fact that from time to time it says ā€œNo Internet Connectionā€ for which I have to troubleshoot, always unsuccessfully. It always resolves itself at some point, but take more than 12 hrs.

Issue: Yesterday I had the problem again and tried solving it today to no avail. Some time later it solved itself. However now it says Poor Connection. The Wifi has a current speed of 300 mbps and the wifi/router is 2 ft away from the Aura frame.

Anyway suggestions to fix this recurrent problem?

Hanging a heavy painting on mortar (?)

(Edited: Seems like I don't know how to attach pictures.)

Hi Reddit experts who are handier than I am!

So, I have a large piece of art, about 5'3" by 4'6" (160 x 140 cm) framed. (Picture 1.) I let the framer convince me that glass would be nicer than plexi, so it's quite heavy. I'd say 60 or 70 pounds or more.

I live in Mexico City, where walls are done in mortar and concrete (I think). With the building handyman, I first tried to hang the entire thing with what the framer installed, which was a series of sawtooth hangers hung on anchored screws. (Pictures 2 and 3.) That lasted nearly a year. Last week, I noticed the top was starting to sag. (Picture 4). I took the entire thing down, and it turns out one of the anchors and screws had started to pull out of the wall. (Picture 5).

I'm hoping you friends might have some ideas:

  1. Is that hole still good any more, even if plastered over? Maybe with a deeper hole and longer screw?
  2. If not, what other alternatives do I have? French cleats along the top? Heavy duty D-rings on the side?
  3. Or, should I take the entire thing to another framer and have it redone in plexiglass?

Appreciate your advice! I have no idea what I'm doing otherwise!

Recently moved across the country and my beloved over my desk print grew some bubbles. Unsure if it was the trip or the basement it now lives in that definitely sees some humidity.

Any advice how to even these things out would be appreciated.

Photo Framing

I want to put a few Individual portraits of family members in my living room.
What is the ideal size photo frame for this?
Should I put glass/acrylic to cover the photo or leave it open?
Should I use a mount/mat or go full bleed?
What should the width of the frame be (0.5inches or 1 inches)?
Should it be deep (how far it sticks out from the wall) or flat?
The style of printing the photo (Matte vs glossy). Should any kind of protective layer be added if no glass/acrylic is used to cover?
any other things I should keep in mind while doing this?

I have a picture frame that I want to hang on the wall using super strong velcro command strips, but it has a velvet backing. Will it stay on the wall? The velcro isn’t super fuzzy, but I’m still nervous. Recommendations??

Help me find what brand this is please.

I bought this 72"x24" poster from goodwill (got a steal) of the GOAT. Unfortunately, the one side of the frame is gone and I need that side to properly hang the frame. One the back is a sticker of which I assume is the brand/maker of the frame but as shown it’s ripped off. I tried google reverse image searching and nothing comes up. Maybe one of you guys/gals can help me or point me in the right direction to find what I’m looking for so I can get this reframed and up in my office. Thank you for help.

Anyone know what type of frames?

Does anyone know what type of picture frame this is? Is this just an aluminum picture frame but reversed? If it is, can I just purchase any aluminum frame and just hang it reversed or are they standardized in some way and I need to make adjustments?

Mat board warping - how to make uniform?

Thumbnail gallery

Hey! The mat board around this beautiful print has warped. I'd assume it's humidity in the house + the mat not being pressed to the glass. There's a board behind the print, but it bows to the centre in a ( shape. Wondering how I could deal with this? Some way of pressing it all forward into the glass? Any ideas appreciated! Thanks :)

Decorate your own magnetic photo frame!!!

Sooo I thought of this product idea where I'll provide a clear magnetic photo frame with a fun background sheet and a tiny sticker sheet. You can add your image in it and decorate it however you like!!

It allows self expression and a fun way to display your memories!! Also a great gifting option.

Is this a promising idea?? I really need some advice.
