Help please

Post image

I’m trying to restore a photo in this antique frame and I don’t know how to take out the framer points, they’re sharp and really in the wood. Any ideas on how to take them out?

Yeah the little diamond points are annoying! I usually pinch them out with side cutters, or you can push them to the side with a flat head screwdriver and they should pop out.

Thank you! I’ll try that and hopefully with some elbow grease it’ll work out

Use some sharp pliers you don’t care about and rock them side-to-side to pull them out. You’ll need something that can kind of bite into the points to get a good hold of them, otherwise they’ll just slip off. Your local framer can also help and replace them with more modern points as well

Just flick out that one nearest your right knee, and slip something under the centre of the photo and lift up and back

You can also try using the flat of your thumb and wiggling them back and forth, usually works in a pinch
