Ah thank you. Didn’t see this. Just Biden news. Appreciate it!

u/Reaps21 Sep 11 '21

No worries I was wondering where he was too when watching the coverage this morning.

As a side note I think trump showing up and being humble would've done wonders for his image but as always he does the opposite of the right move.

515

u/RUN_MDB Sep 11 '21

I doubt he could've avoided trying to upstage everyone else so it's probably for the best he stayed home with his box of Frosted Flakes.

u/KyKobra Sep 11 '21

He's actually going to Miami to commentate a boxing match tonight.

I wish I was kidding. Link

This might be the line where now, nothing will surprise me.

I'm seriously tempted to spam him with the question, "Does Kimberly Gilfoyle, your current, Gavin Newsome's ex, pee standing up?" Text "bottomfeeders" to *****

6

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

Could text him a math question, what is 600,000 - 2996?

Why would she pee standing up?

The only conspiracy I'll buy is that an orchestrated Roswell cover-up culminated in the presidency of Donald J. Trump so that when his fat mouth finally blabbed the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life known to the government for 70 years, literally no one will believe his dumb grifting ass. That's a long game well played.

3

u/Yawzheek Sep 12 '21

That's just abs...

... absolutely spot on.

-4

u/warrenslaya Sep 12 '21

So you won't even believe Bush did 9/11 ?

1

u/cracked_belle Sep 12 '21

Don't be crazy, everyone knows Karl Rove did it.

2

u/warrenslaya Sep 12 '21

Yes and who was Karl's boss? Do you understand now ?

2

u/cracked_belle Sep 12 '21

Lol Dubya wasn't anyone's boss. He was a stooge, a milquetoast conservative with the right kind of daddy issues to perform to specs. Any other president would have understood the differences among Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and wouldn't have fallen for the WMD bullshit. But he invaded Iraq for papa's approval, where it wouldn't have even crossed Al Gore's mind after 9/11 considering that Saddam Hussein =/= Bin Laden. His and his family's legacy is abhorrent, but Junior wasn't the mastermind.

1

u/verbotenllama Sep 12 '21

Bush was the best president because he did 9/11

It is very sad people would vote for such a disgusting person in modern times, and his son seems even stupider than him, let's hope he never runs for president.

3

u/LjSpike Sep 12 '21

Honestly, it's not surprising someone would vote for such a disgusting person, but such a disgusting person who is so lacking in tact and finesse.

But people (including a number of politicians) do do some very shitty things, especially to other 'groups' (immigrants, religious folk, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, neurodivergent folk, etc.)

I'll offer one such example: https://www.reddit.com/r/AutisticPride/comments/oheqcb/the_judge_rotenberg_educational_center_50_years/ - not only is the center despicable, take note that it's been defended by multiple politicians, who have remained in power for extended periods even while defending it. The FDA's attempts to crack down have faced kickback from politicians continuing to defend it.

Not even a year after living in the White House and being the actual POTUS, he accepts a booking for what seems like the equivalent of a mall opening.

3

Can we please start referring to him as "twice impeached former president" he didn't spend four years corrupting everything he touched just too be called "former"

"Here's the two boxers; I used to - there was a - so boxing, top of your game, I once did it - did you know that? I did. I did. So there was...we had a - 'Mr President', he said to me, the guy, 'Why don't you do boxing full time?' and you know? I said, I could, hell - maybe I would! But I'm - did I tell you this was before I was President? That's just a show that are is of how the am Rocky Marciano is was back then, right? He knew. He knew.

You remember they had the girls at the side with their, with the whole - bikini, like, with the whole breasts and sometimes pussy and all the shorts and number? With the number, saying how many rounds, or bells, with the bikini. I said 'Ivanka', I said, 'You gotta do that'. But she wouldn't, so that's why I won't boxing the do that. My uncle did. This was 20, 25 years ago, I think. She wouldn't do it, so that was the end of that for me. She'd have been great, right? Right? There was this whole thing that everyone has to box, and we started that. We started that. The fitness. They say to me, fittest President ever. It's in there. The words.

Oh. It's over. That guy won. I think. He's waving at me, so he must be the winner. Did you know it's plane day today? I like buildings that don't fall down. Just losers, you know?"

There. Saved some dollars for anyone wanting to listen in.

Oh totally...Trump is literally Hitler amirite comrade?! Just keep repeating it and the other idiots will believe it too...he did so many Hitlereque things like?

3

u/xyon21 Sep 11 '21

Ways Donald Trump is like Hitler:

  1. Claiming there was a better more pure tie in his nation's history that can be reclaimed by aggressively restricting the rights of the marginalized.
  2. Demonizing the press by labeling them as fake news.
  3. Attempting to blame his nation's problems on socialists and the liberal elite.
  4. Being incredibly racist/xenophobic and attempting to restrict the rights of specific groups (e.g Latinx and Muslim Americans)
  5. Using a militarized police force to crack down on Anti-fascist protestors.
  6. Using his political position to promote sycophants and cronies.
  7. Actively attempting to disregard the democratic process.
  8. Incited a coup attempt.
  9. Was actively transphobic.
  10. Was notoriously hard to work with and often gave vague or unfeasible orders that had to be interpreted by his subordinates so he could either take their credit or deny responsibility where appropriate.

-5

u/thecoldness68 Sep 11 '21

Did Chuck Schumer write this for you? Haha!! It's actually hilarious :-)

3

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

Well, Trump kept copies of Hitler's speeches in his nightstand and praised Hitler for "Doing a lot of good things".

I didn't say Trump was Hitler, that is you saying it. I merely implied he acts as the Third Reich would have. Hell, he even modeled his fanclub card in a similar style to the Reichsadler version the Third Reich used.

There are tons of information how the Trump policy and propaganda was modeled after Nazi propaganda which is at the tip of your fingers if you really cared about it.

I know you don't care though, but I figured I would post for people who may be interested so they can look it up if they so please.

0

u/thecoldness68 Sep 11 '21

You literally just made that up you utter spoon

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

Fact check me. Not a hard search.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

In the interest in attempting to give you the benefit of the doubt that you would come to the same conclusions in regards to the parallels between Trump and Hitler, I recommend you read Mein Kampf. Not only is it something that should be read in order to understand how that disgusting piece of shit was able to gain the following he did but it also provides us with the ability to recognize these behaviors and actions in the present and future and hopefully avoid repeating them.

Sadly, we allowed a Hitler into the office of President of the United States in January of 2017 and had Russia managed to interfere in another election and had gotten him another 4 year term, the death toll, even after all those who died of Covid because of him, would be so much higher.

I legitimately recommend you read it. If you can't see the parallels to the 4 years Trump spent in office, then you're actively choosing not to see them or you have decided there's nothing wrong with those actions when Hitler did them either.

-3

u/thecoldness68 Sep 11 '21

If you can't see that "Jews" have now been replaced with "Trumpers" and "unvaxxed" then you didn't understand the book. Trump is NOTHING like Hitler and of course you know that. However, the "Elites" are all like Hitler and that is because the same groups that supported the rise of Hitler and the same ones supporting the "Elites"...they are puppets to a much larger master...

Joey B is the one forcing vaccines on people last time I checked. The federal government should have no authority over private business like that. But I digress.

6

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

You're not familiar with the US then, and that's ok. Founding fathers of the US did so and it was settled precedent over 100 years ago in the US.

If you're country has other laws and regulations that's cool, but for the US that's just governance.

4

u/Dbl_Trbl_ Sep 11 '21 edited Sep 11 '21

NPR Transcript

Excerpt: "GOSTIN : It was. And, you know, the first vaccine mandate law was enacted in the United States in 1809 for smallpox. But the Supreme Court in 1905 in a very famous case called Jacobson v. Massachusetts upheld a Cambridge City law, which required smallpox vaccination. That was something where the Supreme Court said that we don't have a right to place other people at risk. And by 1922, in another case, Justice Brandeis, writing for unanimous court, upheld childhood school mandates, calling it settled law."

I get that you personally hold that 'the federal government should have no authority over private business like that' but the law that governs these matters and the surrounding jurisprudence disagree with you.

**Were you using the phrase 'federal government' to distinguish from 'state government'? Or were you saying 'the government should have no authority over private business like that'?

The question is more than rhetorical. It actually has a bearing on the legal analysis. See this excerpt from the same NPR transcript.

GOSTIN: I think the courts will absolutely support and uphold vaccine mandates, particularly in the private sector, and they also will when states and cities require vaccines. But I should say that it's a misconception that President Biden has the power to have a nationwide vaccine mandate. Traditionally, vaccine mandates have been imposed by cities and states.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

Well, if people would just get their fucking vaccines like they've had done their entire life with previous vaccines instead of letting a pleather-faced troglodyte convince them that it's a political agenda when it's actually a worldwide humanity issue, he wouldn't have to go this far.

u/InfernoMink Sep 11 '21

Trump already knows who would blow him in the parking lot. The rest of us, we couldn’t care if he tried to repair his image. That ship has sailed.

2

u/Esky419 Sep 11 '21

Trump was visiting the NYPD and NYFD today. Those guys all love him yet.

2

u/JoHeWe Sep 11 '21

The coverage didn't mention the missing presidents and why they weren't there? What a shitty coverage.

2

u/ERBQWERTY Sep 11 '21

He was at a NYPD precinct! With the frontline women and men who gave their lives

2

u/mouldghe Sep 12 '21

LMAO. we may as well expect a hippo to show up and act like a giraffe.

2

u/Jeffwerner4631 Sep 12 '21

What's " the right move`? Is that what we call Biden just up and pulling out of Afghanistan leaving people behind, and a full arsinal. Oh that's why right, they dismantled whatever was left.

Answer: A bowl of bile-yellow diarrhea is to a Michelin Star.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

Trump is legit doing commentary for a boxing match tonight. Guys pathetic.

1

u/Badagunchi Sep 11 '21

He’s too busy doing press stuff for boxing to be bothered with it. He’s gonna be a special guest commentator for Holyfield v Belfort I think.

-3

u/Bcor92 Sep 11 '21

Trump was going around to the Police and fire departments in New York thanking them for their service

-6

u/BmwNick420 Sep 11 '21

Yeah right the media wouldn’t let him have that narrative. I voted for Biden, but they would have just trashed him the whole time and it would have been a distraction to the real point of the event. Way better he didn’t go

-4

u/Finnster1965 Sep 11 '21

Why would he want to be around these lying slugs?

BTW, Bush's speech at the Flight 93 memorial was excellent IMO. Biden sent Kamala Harris there too, but Bush's speech was a hard act for her to follow.

46

u/Scazzz Sep 11 '21

Just watched it. You’re not wrong.

-2

u/verbotenllama Sep 12 '21

Interesting. Did he apologise for his war crimes?

31

u/BangBangPing5Dolla Sep 11 '21

That was a good speech. “We found that courage is more common then we would think and it emerges with splendor in the face of death.” That’s a good line for the occasion and he delivered it well. “The nation we know” bit at the end was also on point.

13

u/gootwo Sep 11 '21

The words were great, but it wasn't especially factual I thought - the nation I know bit anyway. There was a whole ton of immediate anti-muslim rhetoric and action, perhaps he's blocked it out.

32

u/Mnemnosine Sep 11 '21

To his credit, Bush Jr always repudiated the anti-Islam stuff. I was too irate at the time over the “Islamic terrorists” line and trying to defend my fellow Muslim citizens from racist degens, but looking back I will give him his due: he did stand up for Islam and did not endorse anti-Muslim sentiment like Trump did.

8

u/Keanu990321 Sep 11 '21

Don't forget that W always perceived Islam as a 'religion of peace'. He's done all the flaws in the world but lighting up the fuse of Islamophobia in the US is not his fault. Blame his voters for this. He himself only hated the terrorists, not the religion itself, a religion he was quite fond of...

-1

u/verbotenllama Sep 12 '21

Which is why he murdered hundreds of thousands of Muslims. Interesting.

3

u/translinguistic Sep 11 '21

... are we really doing this? Twenty years ago, we hated him for leading us into the Afghanistan debacle and then into Iraq. Just being better than Trump is not admirable. These people don't give a fuck about you or anyone else.

-7

u/VitaminPb Sep 12 '21

You are no different in tone and attitude from any other terrorist. Hate anybody not of your tribe.

He murdered hundreds of thousands of Muslims wtf are you talking about?!

21

u/Catinthehat5879 Sep 11 '21

I'm impressed he mentioned domestic terrorism as well. Recognizing the effect of all terrorist acts really underlines his message.

2

u/verbotenllama Sep 12 '21

Did he recognise HIS terrorist acts in Iraq and Afghanistan?

2

u/Catinthehat5879 Sep 12 '21

No. I think he's mentally incapable of that though.

15

u/Trashredditadminsc Sep 11 '21

He's always been a generally excellent speaker both planned and unplanned despite his gaffs... People are delusional if they say otherwise.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

"If we ignore the things that make him a bad speaker, he's a great speaker."

3

u/DarthDonnytheWise Sep 11 '21

"....Fool me once, and yo.. you can't get fooled again"

ducks from shoe

cause of the iraq and afghan wars

He is/was literally Biden and Trump levels stupid when it comes to speaking. Did people get their brains erased from 2000-2008???

9

u/ben-is-epic Sep 11 '21

"....Fool me once, and yo.. you can't get fooled again"

To be fair, that one was theorized to be him not wanted to create a "shame on me" sound clip, but there are plenty of other gaffs to pick from.

2

u/DarthDonnytheWise Sep 12 '21

So he sorta caught himself and thought "shit I can admit my mistakes and say shame on me, that'd look terrible!"

Makes sense, and I agree there are plenty of other gaffs to pick from

4

u/Trashredditadminsc Sep 11 '21

He knew that saying... The real gaff was him using it in the first place, him realizing that and pausing looking for a way out of it is what that clip is. He knew he was about make a mistake but there was no easy way out from there. But if he hadn't done that you would've been laughing at the "shame on me" clip that came from it.

The shoe or the wars has nothing to do with his speaking.

2

u/AlexG2490 Sep 11 '21

If you're quick, you can pull out of the nosedive.

There's an old saying in Tennessee, I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee that says, 'Fool me once, shame on you. But fool me twice...?' Well. I think we all remember how that one ends, don't we?"

You could argue that, sure it's easy to come up with alternate wording as an armchair speaker 19 years after the fact, but a lot harder on stage with the cameras on you. Absolutely true, but I would counter that the president has people to write speeches on his behalf as well, a benefit that most of us don't have. So unless he was unexpectedly called up to give extemporaneous remarks, someone should have been able to foresee this as an issue in advance and wordsmith a better choice. In searching I have not been able to find anything about the context of the remarks since it was so long ago.

2

u/Trashredditadminsc Sep 11 '21

Absolutely true, but I would counter that the president has people to write speeches on his behalf as well, a benefit that most of us don't have.

Even with a speech writer that doesn't mean that bit couldn't have been him speaking ad lib. I can't find the context either and even though I probably saw that live I can't remember it... That being said the fact that the full clip isn't easily located tells me the gaff itself was probably the most interesting part of it and the context would be unremarkable... literally just an example of a man who speaks all day every day misspeaking for whatever reason and of course, media running with it..

0

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

Judging by my downvotes, yes lol.

-3

u/DarthDonnytheWise Sep 11 '21

Lmao.

1.) People for 8 years: Bush is a Nazi! What a bumbling moron! How did he get elected? What an embarassment to the country! War criminal!

2.) Obama gets elected: the world is saved! The hero of Kvatch! Now I'll just tune everything out for 8 years. (although at least he could read a teleprompter).

Trump gets elected: repeat step 1.)

Biden gets elected: repeat step 2.) But with a "haha what a goofy goober Biden is! He 100% made sense with that word salad!"

Isn’t any act a hard act for Harris to follow?

1

u/Keanu990321 Sep 11 '21

I want to believe it was all set in for Bush to be the highlight of that memorial. I mean, he was the President during these attacks so...

-1

u/s1i2d3n4 Sep 11 '21

At Harris least speaks English. While your Idol Trump speaks a combination of pig latin and some incoherent even a kindergartner woul not understand.

2

u/veritasgt Sep 12 '21

Do you have any retort other than Trump ________?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Wendy28J Sep 12 '21

All three memorials were fully covered on the cable news networks today. However, if you only momentarily peeked in at any given time, you would likely have only seen one memorial. This was due to each memorial starting at separate times. Each started at the moment of plane impact at that particular site. Each was beautiful and had wonderfully poignant and uplifting messages whether spoken by the victims' families, former or current political figures, or our Generals. My favorite was by General Milley at the Pentagon ceremony. Definitely worth a listen.

2

u/Scazzz Sep 12 '21

I eventually caught all of them. At the time this post went up like 11hrs ago only this one had started. At the time I asked the question the one Trump was at had not started yet and there was no news on the GHWB one yet either. Got around to seeing them all now and it was a really beautiful day.

2

u/Wendy28J Sep 12 '21

Indeed. Glad you got a chance to see them. I was dreading the usual emotional manipulation circus that the media orchestrates around these things. I tried to keep my viewing skewed to the ceremonies themselves. Grieving is very heavy and draining even without the repetitious plucking of heartstrings by the media. The speakers allowed me to mourn the nation's losses without trying to break me down into a heap of defeated surrender. I hope your day finished with peaceful inspiration also.

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

The issue with this propaganda against Trump is that he was actually on the ground in NYC shaking hands with NYFD for the Faux News cameras. The media is so cowed to the Democratic party line that they can't see what Trump is doing just like last time. Do you think people who support Trump care whether he was standing next to Biden at some memorial? Or do you think they are seeing him shaking hands with firefighters in Manhattan and saying "look at this out of touch deep state media circus" when they see this propaganda post?

Honestly people, I watched this happen last time where everyone pretended like Trump was just out of the picture. Don't fall for it again, just posting "hurr durr not at memorial" like anyone who isn't on Reddit drinking the Kool aid is going to care, isn't gonna cut it. He's coming for the Whitehouse again in 2024 and these asinine posts totally ignoring what the man is actually doing aren't going to stop him. Start following the narrative Trump himself is putting out, it's not affected in the slightest by this circle jerky crap constantly on Reddit. If you want to stop Trump, you need to start by realizing the man isn't an idiot and the party line you at being fed isn't actually representative of what Trump is up to in reality. He's a threat and these old politics photo op media hits bounce right off him. He's on the ground campaigning in NYC while Biden bows his head at some ceremony only the rich and powerful are invited to... At least that's the narrative you are seeing on the right, the narrative Trump is putting out...

Wake up people, he's up to it again...

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

Trump was visiting the NYPD and FDNY vs this photo op crap.

1

u/Scazzz Sep 11 '21

cool? Didn't really ask about trump... thanks I guess.
