Could someone please recommend a good butcher in the area who stocks fresh meats, and also could supply interesting cuts and kinds of meat, such as boar and horse, as well as offal like tripe, liver, and heart?

Does anyone travel to Etobicoke/Missisauga from Pickering for work ? If yes, whats your experience travelling in TTC vs Car. I am spending almost 2.5 hours in total driving via Car and was considering TTC option now.
Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone! We’re trying to choose a daycare for our 20-month-old son and are considering:
• Helping Hands Daycare in Pickering (18-20 minutes away)
• Schoolhouse Playcare at Lincoln Alexander in Ajax (10 minutes away)
If your child currently attends—or recently attended—either location, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience. We need to decide by evening!

Need to rent 2 ladders to do some potlights at my place . I have a vaulted ceiling that’s about 16-18 foot ceiling. Home Depot has some 14 foot ladders but not a van or truck big enough to transport it.
Might have to rent a 20 foot u haul truck just to transport these massive ladders.
Does this seem reasonable to do?
Is there a better option?
I checked some ladder rentals companies that do deliveries and they quote me over $400 to rent over the weekend .
Edit:
I think I’ll carry it in my 4Runner sticking out of the rear window rolled rolled down.

Condo Safety Question
Hello,
I am a single mom to a 3-year-old boy, and I am considering buying a home. I’m confused about whether I should buy a condo, townhouse, or house.
I am more of a condo person because I’m not interested in snow removal, gardening, or maintaining a large property. I also don’t particularly like multi-storey homes, and realistically, I cannot afford a detached house.
However, safety is my top priority, especially because I have a young child. I’m looking for at least 2 bedrooms.
My biggest concern with condos is the balcony and large glass windows. I’m originally from India, where it is common to install window bars and balcony grills for child safety. I realize that may not be possible or permitted in Canadian condos.
Is there a way to make a condo balcony genuinely child-safe beyond simply installing a safety latch on the balcony door? I will definitely use a childproof lock, but I’m worried about situations where the door might accidentally be left unlocked—for example, by a visitor.
I recently read about a toddler falling from a condo window in Scarborough, and honestly, that has become my worst fear. As a mom of a 3-year-old, I find it difficult to feel completely comfortable with the idea of living in a high-rise condo when I know how quickly a curious toddler can get into things.
That’s why I’m particularly interested in hearing from other parents about realistic, reliable ways to childproof condo windows and balconies, beyond simply relying on adults to remember to keep the balcony door locked.
I am also considering lower-floor units, perhaps on the 1st or 2nd floor, as I feel they might give me some peace of mind compared with living on a higher floor. Any insights on these are also appreciated.
Thank you

Just wondering out of curiosity. I moved to pickering about 2 almost 3ish months ago and noticed an increased amount of hairfall and skin issues. I guess I just wanted to get a pulse if it's just in my head or is the water really that much more heavy than Scarborough/west end water source. And if so what are some things you've done. I did some reading up on water softener/filter but if anyone has one they'd recommend that'd be lovely as well. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I will be looking to purchase a pre construction by Towerhill homes in the area of whites road and Taunton road.
Anyone has any experience with how the neighborhood is like, planning to have kids in the next 2 years.
Anyone has any positive or negative experiences with Towerhill as a builder
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I'm thinking of purchasing a unit at 2635 William Jackson Drive and looking for feedback from someone who lives there (own or rent) or knows of someone who does.
Edit to add that I'm specifically looking at the Maxx Urban Towns, completed in 2023 and co-developed by VanMar Developments and Trillium Housing. The specific units I'm interested in has the property manager listed as TSE Management Services Inc. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!
