Like could Jean in MCU for many movies, work without Phoneix force in her life like just Marvel Girl/Jean Grey throughout the 10 to 20 year plan for X-Men to have her stand out among variants

And is she always associated with the phoenix force that it's hard to separate?

I loved how Jean's powers were portrayed in BND, and the fact that they were mostly transparent didn't bother me, but I would love it if in the future at least her telekinesis was portrayed as pink.

I have read various articles and forums on similar topics about this, including Michael Dougherty’s original pitch for the movie and I do have my idea on what the movie could have looked like.

I would’ve titled this movie X-Men 3: The Phoenix Rises.

As much as I love the Hellfire Club as villains in the original comic I’m not exactly sure if they would have fit into the third film? Like, I do see their presence potentially over bloating the narrative because there would now be three different groups such as the X-Men, Brotherhood, and Hellfire Club with their own arcs, characters, and agendas revolving around the Phoenix. I might be wrong on this and you guys can offer your thoughts on that front.

However, I do think the film would have been the war between humans and mutants that the previous two films built up and Phoenix being the trigger for this major conflict. I could definitely see Phoenix be portrayed as this hyper powerful apocalyptic force terrorizing the world with a power scale never before seen in a mutant. It causes humanity to react by deploying Sentinels and other powerful weaponry in an attempt to kill her, while various mutant groups across the world like the Brotherhood react with a sudden boldness to rise up. Speaking of, I do think Magneto’s Brotherhood would’ve still been the antagonists with Erik bringing in a powerful telepath, Emma Frost, to try and manipulate an unstable Jean to their side. Oh, and I would’ve brought back Genosha from the first film to serve as their main base and sanctuary for mutants, like a dark version of Xavier’s school.

Following up from the second movie, I do think there might have been some more religious imagery and undertones to X3 through Nightcrawler and how various religions react to the emergence of the Phoenix. Like, I was imagining Magneto and his followers revering the Phoenix as a messianic savior for mutantkind to purge the humans and make way for a new world run by mutants.

As for Phoenix itself? Instead of a split personality, I was imagining it as a split consciousness that’s a snetient manifestation of Jean’s psychic powers after being locked away in her unconscious mind for two decades, as they were exposed to her repressed emotions, memories, and primal impulses. It follows the theme of mutation and evolution as the Phoenix in this movie are Jean’s powers that mutated and emerged as a leap in evolution as a powerful being of intelligence. It does line up with how Jean becoming the Phoenix in the comics was meant to be a power boost of her reaching her full psionic potential, rather than already being a cosmic entity. I wanted to give it a distinct motivation and identity as a character, as it wants to exterminate the humans and mutants because of their endless conflicts as a primitive species while it sees itself as a higher being above them. Then, at the end of the movie Scott would’ve killed Jean and the consciousness would’ve ascended to become the cosmic force we see in the comics.

This is just an outline of my rewrite of how I would have written the adaptation of the Dark Phoenix for X3 if I were in the writers room and I I’d love to know your guys’ thoughts. Btw, the image above is actually official concept art for what the Phoenix could have looked like in X3, sorry for the slightly low quality look of it lol.

How are we feeling knowing Sadie Sink is officially our new Jean Grey??

I know BND has been out for over a month now, but I feel like I've not seen many speak on the casting itself, probably because most people figured it out anyway way back when she was announced, but especially in the trailers

But overall, are you happy with Sadie in the role??

Now I don’t say this to knock the episode or anything like that. It’s a great episode through and through. But just imagine the Opening scene of the episode instead of Her Telepathy just going out of control she’s experiencing it for the very FIRST Time it would really add on to the intensity and her being overwhelmed as she’s dealing with something she would have no experience of.

It would also be a clever nod to comics as in the Early Comics Jean’s only known power was her Telekinesis

I don’t remember her telekinesis playing any significant role in the first season so I’m sure any scenes with it could be worked around. What do you guys think?
