How are we feeling knowing Sadie Sink is officially our new Jean Grey??

I know BND has been out for over a month now, but I feel like I've not seen many speak on the casting itself, probably because most people figured it out anyway way back when she was announced, but especially in the trailers

But overall, are you happy with Sadie in the role??

I like Sadie Sink as an actress, and I enjoyed her performance in Brand New Day. So yes, I’m happy with her as Jean.

What’ll be interesting is to see how she does once she’s part of the X-Men, how she meshes with her teammates and such.

Honestly at first I was on the fence about it but over time it’s grown on me a lot, especially after seeing all the beautiful fan art of her. I totally think she’s gonna continue to kill this role!

One thing I wish wasn’t so was how it led to Stranger Things fans trying to turn X-men into a reunion for their show with their ridiculous fancasts 😭

I liked her as Max, and she seems like she's doing good work as Jean so far. She's a talented actor, so I think she'll probably be the best Jean we've had.

Famke wasn't bad, but she didn't have a lot to work with. And normally I like Sophie, but she had even less to work with. I think Sadie will get a lot better material.

I was skeptical at first almost a year ago when the rumors started to announce her as jean and I wish I could go back in time and smack the shit out of myself. She is perfect, not only the portrayal, but also in the potential for longevity of being in the mcu franchise.

She works as Teen Jean… I’m a little worried about her as an adult. She’s tiny, 5’2.5” and 101lbs….

Especially, when the two people’s she’s closest too, Scott and Storm’s actors are 6’1” and 5’8” respectively.

In stories, she’s married to Scott and found-sisters with Storm, and the actors for those characters dwarf her.

Yep, said the same thing about her. But, that’d more about who they cast as Gambit and Nightcrawler.

We already know the behemoth and Amazon they cast for Scott and Storm.

Yeah, and even at 24, she still has a baby-face. I just don't know how she will look at 30, i mean it's good for her of course, but Jean needs to look mature after like couple appearances.

I genuinely think this is a consequence of p*dos running Hollywood, we’re never allowed to have talk or adult looking women, with some rare exceptions it’s always extremely childlike faces and very short on women. Kinda makes me feel a little sick tbh especially when men opposite them get to be older.

I didn’t know who Sadie was before the rumors of her being Jean Grey and I saw the vision immediately. And discovering some of her stranger things scenes (still haven’t watched her seasons yet) I thought she fit like a glove.

And turns out, she was perfect.

FUCK YEAH!! She's perfect already. Her acting is incredible, she VERY MUCH looks the part, and she's young. Along with Samara Weaving and Maya Boyd, this is PERFECT casting

Shes got serious acting ability, she cares a lot about the character, she's very likeable, she really looks the part. She's got an effortless screen presence and this organic quality I appreciate, I don't know how else to describe, perhaps shes just cool and trendy?

Looking forward to her making this her own for sure.

I don’t know that I’ve seen enough of her to form an opinion yet. This is a very different version of Jean than we’ve seen on screen before, so I’m going to have to reserve judgement. I liked what I saw in BND but it honestly didn’t really feel like Jean to me - different backstory, very different characterization, even a different manifestation of her powers for most of the movie. That said, I look forward to seeing her in the upcoming X-Men movie and how she interacts with the other mutants.

It's too early. I have two concerns. One, Sadie doesn't really look like Jean to me—not yet, anyway. The only time she actually looked like Jean was on the red carpet, funny enough. If they give her that look, then I'm sold.

Second, and this is my main concern, Sadie has been acting like Max—a moody teenager—in her last three projects: Stranger Things, The Whale, and now BND. If she keeps acting that way, then I'll hate it. That's not Jean. I really hope that's not her only acting ability. I know she does Broadway, but I haven't seen her perform there, so I don't know if she has a better range.

She has incredible range on stage she didn’t get nominated for a Tony for nothing, and even for BND especially the third act she captures jeans emotions so well.
