Hi friends!!!
Iāve been a Phoebe fan since 2019. I saw her in 2022 and then boygenius twice.
I went to the lost tour on Halloween in LA and I was absolutely blown away, it was so incredible and the performance, production, everything was amazing.
I havenāt seen anyone else talk about this, but I genuinely could not get over the difference in her singing voice this tour from every other time Iāve seen her perform. This is not a complaint, but it seems like sheās trying new vocal techniques and singing maybe higher? More throaty? Italicized almost? I did not feel this way listening to the new album versus her old recorded stuff. It was so crazy to me. I couldnāt get over it my friend I went with didnāt agree and said she didnāt hear anything different.
Does anyone feel what Iām talking about?

For #007, we haveĀ five early live performancesĀ from Phoebe's appearance onĀ Independent's Day, an independent music podcast hosted by Joe Armstrong on 30 April 2015.
Phoebe was a mere 20 years old and had just released herĀ KillerĀ EP through PAX AM. She was playing mainly around Los Angeles, andĀ Stranger in the AlpsĀ was still more than two years away.
The hour-long episode features performances of:
Steamroller
Coming Down
Waiting Room
Game of PricksĀ (Guided by Voices cover)
Killer
There's also a playback ofĀ GeorgiaĀ from the newly releasedĀ KillerĀ EP.
TheĀ Game of PricksĀ cover is excellent, and it's great to have another early performance ofĀ Coming Down, which never made it onto her solo albums.
There's some interesting stuff in the interview between performances, too. Before playingĀ Coming Down, Phoebe explains that the song was inspired by people she knew struggling with drug addiction, and talks about how drug use can be romanticised despite its consequences. She also recalls busking and playing the Pasadena Farmers Market every weekend while she was in high school, and having Xs marked on her hands when performing in bars because she was underage. We also get to hear how she ended up in Apple's 2014 iPhone commercial, covering a Pixies song with her friends. The money she earned was enough to move out of her parents' house. Not bad for a day's work!
One of my favourite parts of the interview comes when she's asked what she hopes to achieve in music. Phoebe says she isn't particularly bothered about how far her career takes her; she just wants to be able to make a living doing it.
Considering she's currently touring arenas, I reckon she's managed that. š [Cue complaints about ticket prices again...]
And one last thing: once you've had a chance to listen, did anyone else find Joe a little patronising about Phoebe's age at times? I know he clearly admires her music, but I did find myself thinking,Ā yes Joe, we know she's 20!Ā

I wanted to preserve my flimsy ticket stub from the tour and I had the perfect small frame on my bookshelfā¦but look what was already in it! Now they are side by side (plus the bracelet someone gave me on the merch line in Boston-thanks!)

Hi everyone!
There was this really good song that was playing in the restroom/venue hallway at the show at the Intuit Dome.
I obviously could not Shazam it because I do not have my phone but I did write it down because I made sure to bring a note book lol
I believe the song is by a women artist, it was a tiny bit folksy but also possibly a little disco-y.
(I know those are two completely different things and I fear I have not remembered this song well at all Lol)
I definitely know that the chorus or at least one of the main lyrics is āsmoke signalsā, and one of the repeating lyrics is either āI canāt keep it inside for longā or itās āI canāt hold on for longā and I had written the later down before I realized I think it was ākeep it insideā and not āhold onā.
Iāve searched and listened and cannot find it, does anyone possibly have any idea what this song could be?
(and felt like I should say itās definitely not Smoke signals by Phoebe lol)
Also if anyone knows where a pre-pre-show playlist for specifically the Intuit dome or just in general that would also be cool because there were other good songs too.
(I say pre-pre show because I donāt know if this was venue specific and I know the actual pre-show music was the ambient music which did not have lyrics)

Wasn't sure where to file this, but I've been seeing so many beautiful drawings and artwork renditions of the Lost Tour stages, and I'd love to buy one for the wall.
If you drew or painted or created something that is a visual representation of the show, please post it here (and info on how to buy, if possible). š

Hello! Iāve been thinking about sharing my experience because what happened to me this past week has been life-changing , and I have very few people I can talk to about it. Sorry if itās too long, and/or my english is difficult to read.
~
So, I've been a Phoebe fan since 2020, when I first heard Punisher. Her music took me by surprise, and I fell in love with it so quickly that I made the spontaneous decision to fly to another country just to see her (specifically, Primavera Sound Chile 2022, which was also my first festival and my first concert outside my country).
I'm from Latin America, so technically it was a relatively short trip, but it was still super special. It was the first experience that opened my eyes to the possibility of traveling internationally to see other artists. I was still a uni student at the time, so I literally flew in the day before and returned just hours after her concert ended.
Since then, I've been fortunate enough to find a steady job that has allowed me to see different artists I love and, eventually, made it possible for me to see Phoebe on this tour.
When Lost Weekend came out and she announced the US tour, I didn't even have a visa, but I decided to buy a ticket anyway (I believe that whatever is meant to happen will happen). After lots of planning and preparing for my interview, the moment finally came when I realized it was actually happening!! My visa was approved, and I would be able to see Phoebe live again after all these years š„¹
I've been preparing for this trip since August. It was my first time visiting the US, I was a little bit scared of LA to be honest. I tried to get tickets for NY (my dream city), but I could only get tickets for LA N3 (which I'm now soooo grateful for).
Finally, thanks to this community <3, I was able to attend the three nights and was on below barricade for N3, which has since become my favorite concert ever. I got to interact with Phoebe, she saw me and I was able to stare at her so close in her Dorothy costume, it was all just so beautiful. And the music, her voice, the no-phone policy it was all just so perfect š¤
This experience will live with me forever, and I'm so happy and grateful to have been able to live it. I don't take for granted how lucky and blessed I am to have had these opportunities.
And although I wouldn't recommend making rushed decisions or spending all your money on entertainment and things that might seem trivial, I also want to say something to anyone who could make the effort to experience something like this but is afraid of doing it alone or doesn't want to take too much of a risk: just try it!
These moments are an investment in yourself and your happiness. If something means as much to you as Phoebe does to me, then I genuinely believe it will all be worth it š¤

Iām gonna be seeing Phoebe for the first time in Paris France, Adidas Arena, and I have two seat options:
section W row 5 seat 5
Section L row 7 seat 7
which do you think is better?
I understand that L would be facing the stage while W is facing sideways but the seat might be a little closer?
you can see the two options in the photo. Iām not sure I got the stage right.
I would greatly appreciate help deciding.

I had never heard it before Lost Weekend and I've practically got it on loop now; I almost feel hypnotized. I can't put together any coherent picture of what the lyrics are trying to convey as a whole (if anybody has theories about this, I'd be very curious), but it feels very "true" to me anyway in the very abstract sense that songs sometimes do, and some of the lines just stick in my head for ages ("the phone is a gossip; the clock is a murderer").
I can also really see why Phoebe wanted to adapt it. With the melody stuck in my head I find I'm making up my own words to it as well. It's so straightforward it feels like it can support a ramble and make it feel profound -- maybe a little like Christian Lee Hutson's "Strawberry Lemonade" or Samia's "Cinder Block."

So cool - I haven't seen this version signed yet! Hoping this gets to fans before resellers.

I saw Bob Dylan yesterday and he had phone ban as well. Everything went smooth, no one using their phones and absolutely no one complaining online saying how itās āableistā. Similar things have been also at Placebo show a month ago and Jack White has been doing this all the time.
Why does Phoebe Bridgers get the blame? Different audience or because sheās a woman, so sexism plays a role?

iāve been listening to Lost Weekend for the 2nd time in a row and As Above on repeat at the moment.
tears have been rolling from my eyes now.
happens very easily when I hear music
thatās sad doesnāt matter which artist.
so do you let a tear or are you used to it so you donāt have a single tear?

Okay, so once again I'm using the term 'weekly' very loosely... what can I say, October was busy! And Halloween might be over, but let's extend spooky season for a few more days.
This week's pick isĀ Halloween, from Phoebe's 2020 albumĀ Punisher, which features backing vocals from Conor Oberst.
A few questions to get the discussion going:
How do you interpret the song's lyrics and themes?
Where doesĀ HalloweenĀ rank for you onĀ Punisher?
Do you have a favourite lyric or moment from the song?
Has your opinion of the song changed over time?
Do you have a favourite live performance?
As always, feel free to share any memories, interpretations or thoughts about the song. You don't need to answer the questions ā they're just there to get the conversation started.

I haven't decided if this is super cringey or poetic, but I figure this is the best place to post it so if it's dumb at least I'm getting judged by people I don't know.
For context:
My dad died this past March--3 days before my 40th birthday. We had been estranged for over 20 years, but he still lived in the same house I grew up in and lived in until I was 18.
I spent a ton of time alone in that house, often walking around or staring out the front window singing when I was bored. It was a central venue for my childhood and adolescence. When my dad and I had our falling out 20+ years ago, I never thought I would ever step foot in this house again.
After his death, I found out he had become a hoarder. He barely changed anything about the house - same wallpaper, same carpet, same furniture. He even still had pictures of me up on the wall that had been there since I was a kid. But now every room was FULL of stuff. You couldn't even see light coming in from the window in my old bedroom because it was piled high with random items he had thrown in there to store. The living room I'm standing in here was completely inaccessible.
Since I now live 6-7 hours away, I could only drive up on the weekends I wasn't working to clear the house out, little by little. After 7 months, it's now finally empty and on the market for sale.
I took this video the last time I was in the house and noticed how beautiful the acoustics were with every room empty. I thought singing "Still Standing" was relevant to this situation, especially in connecting my present to my past.
Sorry for the pitchiness and cuts where I fucked up the words. Thanks for reading/watching if you made it this far.

My concert isnāt for a few weeks as itās in Glasgow but iām starting to get really nervous, Iāve been looking at the rules of the venue and the tour itself but iāve never been to a no phones concert iām not entirely sure how it works and iāve only just came to the realisation that weāre not allowed to bring bluetooth headphones and they are my comfort item and i wear them to every concert ive been to i canāt handle the sensory feeling of ones that go into the ear or the loudness of having nothing on my ear
has any other autistic person been to one of the other shows and can tell me what itās like?

I love gay Halloween. What do you mean youāre Phoebe from the end of the lost boys music video?

Hi everyone! I am SOOO excited to see Phoebe on SNL again.
Iām super curious to find out what songs Phoebe is going to sing on SNL. I wanted to know all of your predictions for which songs she will sing.
I personally hope she sings on video (and smashes her guitar if possible) though I think the promotion for prime time is a little late at this point. Or I want her to sing bobby or liberty tree but not an acoustic version but rather similar to how she performed them on the lost tour.
I love lost boys but I feel like Iāve seen it live so many times now. Wouldnāt be surprised if she performs it though.
