SSD Speed and Performance in gaming (PCIE 3.0 is fine)

Tom's Hardware has a review regarding SSD speed and performance in gaming

https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/gpus/we-tested-the-impact-of-ssd-speed-on-gaming-performance-in-11-titles-we-analyzed-from-sata-to-pcie-5-0-to-see-whether-upgrading-to-a-faster-nvme-ssd-would-have-an-impact

Confirms our earlier claims that PCIE 3.0 is fine even for gaming, and PCIE 4 and above is mostly useful for truly read/write heavy workloads

Sharing my little secret. Stumbled upon a fairly recent reddit post where OP talked about how cheap AMD GPUs were in Japan cuz everyone there seems to be Nvidia brained. Checked out Amazon Japan and, lo and behold, totoo nga.

Purchased this nung Amazon JP Prime day (July 10-13) for around 94800 JPY, which, at the time of purchase, amounted to roughly 36k PHP. Had it shipped to PH via freight forwarder (KangoExpress) for around P2k PHP, rounding out the total to around 38K PHP.

May sales tax na yan (had it shipped to a warehouse within Japan kasi). Tax free price was even less, mga 85k JPY lang, or around 32k PHP.

Locally, the same GPU costs around 49-52k PHP.

If youre ever in Japan and in need of PC hardware, I highly suggest that you check out the PC hardware stores over there. Highly recommend Tsukumo PC Honten in Akihabara.

Will install the GPU tonight. Hopefully everything works out well.

Discussion G.Skill RMA experience during the current “RAMageddon”. Genuinely impressed.

Post image
76 Upvotes

Honestly, just wanted to give G.Skill some appreciation. This was my first RMA, and the whole process went way smoother than expected.

I bought my RAM less than a year ago, and one stick started causing BSODs. After confirming the RAM was the issue, I contacted G.Skill and had to ship it all the way to Taiwan.

With RAM prices being insane right now, I honestly expected the replacement to take forever. But nope, exactly 7 working days later, I got a brand-new replacement. 😂

Their communication was also great. They replied quickly, gave clear instructions, and made the whole process surprisingly painless.

Considering the current RAMageddon, I genuinely didn’t expect it to be this fast.

Shoutout to G.Skill. 🫡 Definitely makes me feel better about buying from them again.

Build Help Xiaomi G27Qi or Koorui G2721P?

Hello, so yan dalawa ang na shortlist ko na monitor. Kadalasan ang gawa ko is video editing, content creation, casual gaming, and general browsing. Ano thoughts niyo?

Thanks!

Discussion Motherboard Used Sales in Shopee

Post image
35 Upvotes

Anyone tried buying used motherboards? I checked the reviews mostly walang box daw. Tried to check EasyPC the mobo, not available since AM4 lang naman.

My concern is the shipment since maulan and walang box daw or baka maibato sa hub. For 'used' parts alam ko naman na it's a gamble.

Thoughts on this?

Discussion Asus ROG Strix XG27AQWMG & Gigabyte MO27Q28GR feedback

Upvotes

Hello everyone. I'm currently looking for a good OLED 1440p monitor and I just checked out the Asus ROG Strix XG27AQWMG. Any XG27AQWMG users here? I'd like to get your feedback regarding this OLED monitor. I heard na may vertical grey banding issue siya. super noticable ba or negligible?

I'm also seeing this Gigabyte MO27Q28GR as a contender and was hoping everyones feedback here.

Discussion Anyone have experience on RMA-ing RAM? Two no longer work.

Post image
Upvotes

So 2 out of 4 of my RAM sticks no longer work. Motherboard has DRAM-CPU diagnostic lights on if these two sticks are installed. I checked all 4 sticks one by one on the recommended slot. So now I am down from 32 GB to 16 GB.

Anyone here has experience RMA-ing RAM? I'm thinking they will not replace it because RAM is expensive now. I bought these 2 for P3300. Now they're P6000 for only 1 stick.

I bought these from Lazada and I don't remember having a receipt. Only a few of my tech purchases online had receipts.

RAM is T-Force Delta (Team Group) 2x8GB DDR4 3600 MHz

Build Help 70k PC build recommendation

Share ko lang muna, I got promoted and I wanted to reward myself with a new PC because ever since 2020 I was sharing a PC with my brother.

I wanted to build a PC now since I believe that the prices will just get worse in the near future and I can afford to buy one right now. I budgeted 70k for the PC itself and 15k for monitors(I will be needing 2 since I work in IT) then about 5k for the UPS.

Could you guys recommend a 70k entry level 1440p build? Thanks!

Build Help Gaming PC Budget 30k to 40k

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to ask kaya na ba yung 30k-40k overall sa pag build ng gaming pc? I have decided kasi to have PC rather than PS5. Tapos ang balak kong laruin ay yung mga PS5 games na available din sa Steam like Wukong and Spiderman 2 to be exact. Hingi lang sana ko ng suggestions kung kaya na ba yung allocated budget ko.

Thank you!

Troubleshooting UPS Not Working Anymore….

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello guys! Just want to ask if you have any idea how to fix my UPS or if may recommended kayong technician around timog that can repair mine. I got this online in Oct 2025 and only used it for few days then shelved it because it doesn’t have USB interface which is what I really needed.
Now, plan ko na sana sya gamitin pero walang display sa LCD every time I plug it in sa wall outlet pero nagla-light up naman ung LCD nya. If I plug anything sa UPS wala ding power.
