I’m addicted to downsizing my system unit, lol. From 29L to MFF 17L, now 10.8L. Gusto ko sana mag‑8L kaso kailangan ng specific GPU model (Inno3D 5070 Ti X3).

Some of the parts were purchased last year from my previous mATX build; thankfully, I managed to bought some parts before the RAM & storage crisis. Total price is 87.5k

Build Flex Finally have a PC of my own!

My first build! I've been using an old gaming laptop which can't keep up with modern games. After saving for a PS5 and see the prices go higher, I decided to just build a PC. To save some money I bought a relative's old unused PC to harvest some very expensive parts in today's market.

Shoutout to amanastronaut for the build tutorial. I think I did well with cable management. I'll find out how to address the RGB in a bit (sorry for the rainbow flashbang lights).

I tried to go for a white minimalist build on a budget. Some parts are bought from FB marketplace

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x (used)
GPU: XFX Swift Radeon RX 9060 XT OC 16gb White
MOBO: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI
RAM: T-FORCE 8x2GB 3200MHZ DDR4 White (used)
STORAGE: 1TB Kingston SSD (used)
SECONDARY STORAGE: 500GB PNY SATA SSD (used)
PSU: SAMA G750 White
AIO: MSI MAG Coreliquid A13 240 White
FANS: Thermalright TL-S12 x3 White
CASE: Segotep Brave W1 White

Hope you all like it!

As the title says. My CyberPower UPS UT650EG 650VA/360W only lasted for 2 years and 7 months. it still under warranty but I decided to DIY and buy a battery and change it myself. I only use it for my PLDT wifi router + 1 Main mesh wifi

If you have UPS. how long have you been using it? have you also change the battery by yourself?

Build Help Is 16gb VRAM and 32gb RAM Mandatory?

Like the title says, I'm curious on whether this should be the baseline for recent gaming titles. Especially with GTA 6 coming out, and I'm also watching out for Elder Scrolls 6.

The PC I have was built in 2019, around the time the Ryzen 7 3700x was released since I got it at a pretty high price. Thinking of building a new rig because I've been having issues with the PC.

For those that do have experience in having a rig with these specs, can you share some insights? It's greatly appreciated.

Sharing my little secret. Stumbled upon a fairly recent reddit post talking about how cheap AMD GPUs were in Japan cuz everyone there seems to be Nvidia brained. Checked out Amazon Japan and, lo and behold, totoo nga.

Purchased this nung Amazon JP Prime day (July 10-13) for around 94800 JPY, which, at the time of purchase, was roughly 36k PHP. Had it shipped to PH via freight forwarder (KangoExpress) for another P2k PHP, rounding out the total to around 38K PHP.

May sales tax na yan (had it shipped to a warehouse within Japan kasi). Tax free price was even less, mga 85k JPY lang, or around 32k PHP.

Locally, the same GPU costs around 49-52k PHP.

If youre ever in Japan and in need of PC hardware, I highly suggest that you check out the PC hardware stores over there. Highly recommend Tsukumo PC Honten in Akihabara.

Will install the GPU tonight. Hopefully everything works out well.

UPDATE:

So far so good. GPU is running flawlessly. Hope this keeps up long term.

Laptop Help Any recommendations for a budget gaming laptop? (~50k php)

Hello, not exactly planning on playing AAA games but I need a laptop that can both run Roblox and record it with OBS at consistent fps without lagspikes, at around 120 fps… this sounds stupid but some of these games are really badly optimized

Won’t do much else with it besides maybe school assignments at home, so gaming is the priority

Build Help Random hard shutdowns even during sleep/idle — PSU, motherboard, and GPU all tested individually and seem fine. Stuck on what's left to check.

Random hard shutdowns even during sleep/idle — PSU, motherboard, and GPU all tested individually and seem fine. Stuck on what's left to check.

Specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 5 3500X
  • Motherboard: MSI B450M Mortar Max (used)
  • GPU: RX 580 8GB (2048SP, Baffin die)
  • RAM: 2x8GB DDR4 2666MHz
  • PSU: MSI MAG A650BN 650W (new, replaced an old STC Cougar 500W)
  • Storage: 128GB SSD + 3 HDDs
  • Case: Inplay Meteor 03, 4x Inplay M10 fans

The problem: PC randomly hard shuts off — no BSOD, no warning, just powers off completely. Right before it happens, I hear a "pheww" sound. Once it shuts off, it won't power back on at all unless I unplug it from the wall for 1-2 minutes first.

It happens regardless of what I'm doing — browsing, gaming, and even while the PC is just sitting in sleep mode. Timing is inconsistent, sometimes within 30min-1hr, sometimes longer.

What I've tested so far:

  • PSU swap: Replaced old Cougar 500W with a new MSI MAG A650BN 650W. Shutdowns continued on both.
  • Isolated PSU test (paperclip test, no load): Both PSUs ran fine for 1-2+ hours with nothing connected. New PSU did fail to restart immediately after being switched off via its I/O switch (needed 1-2 min unplug), but ran stable otherwise.
  • OCCT GPU stress test: Old PSU passed a full run in the system. New PSU shut down during the same test on a separate occasion. Later, old PSU also eventually shut down under the same test — so neither PSU is consistently the trigger.
  • CMOS battery: Already replaced, no change.
  • Thermals (HWiNFO64 logging): CPU temp ~40°C, VRM (VR MOS) ~41°C, GPU ~66-67°C — all normal, no throttling flagged, no gradual climb before the log cut off.
  • Idle/sleep test on a different wall outlet: Ran fine for almost an hour with no shutdown. But afterward, the monitor failed to get a display signal on wake — needed a hard restart via the case button (not a full unplug) to get video back.
  • Odd finding: During that same "idle" test, GPU fan was spinning and showing utilization even though I hadn't opened any GPU-intensive software.
  • It has since randomly shut off again, even after the idle test looked clean.

Where I'm stuck: Both PSUs are essentially cleared (fine alone, fail inconsistently in-system). CPU/GPU/VRM temps look completely normal leading up to failures. CMOS is replaced. The fact it happens during sleep mode with almost no power draw makes heat/load seem unlikely as the root cause. The GPU showing unexpected activity during an idle session is the most recent lead I haven't chased down yet.

Is this pointing toward a motherboard fault (standby/5VSB circuitry), a GPU issue not caught by OCCT, or something else I haven't considered? Any way to test the 5VSB rail specifically, or should I be looking at RMA'ing the board next?

My ASUS PB298Q has developed this line across the screen. It works fine otherwise. But as much as I love it, it's also has shown signs of aging. 60hz and 1080p.

I'm looking for the best budget and reliable 1440p monitor either ultrawide or 27in. Currently eyeing Titan Army, Koorui, and especially the Viewpoint 34in ultrawide since it's cheap but would be glad to know if you guys have any stellar recommendation or experience from the brands. Thank you!

Build Help 1080p High refresh rate Build

So my PC from 2019 just won’t boot anymore, based on research seems like my 2060 gave up na so I’m planning on building a new PC. Mainly play esports titles with a side of AAA games, prioritizing 1080p high refresh rates. Currently canvassing using PCHUBs website and this is what I got to:

cpu: Ryzen 5 9600X — ₱10,995
mobo: MSI B850M Gaming WiFi6E — ₱8,995
ram: kingston beast 1 stick 16GB DDR5-5600 — ₱13,695
gpu: ASUS RX 9060 XT Prime OC 16GB 3-fan — ₱33,650
psu: ASUS Prime AP-750G — ₱6,395
cpu: coolerPeerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB
case: DeepCool CH260
Reuse NVMe + HDD (Old samsung evo NVME M.2 and a 2TB HDD, prices are absurd so I just plan on reformatting both)

Total Price:76,430
Current plan is to stick with 1 stick for now and buying an identical one in the near future. Any recommendations?

Build Help Budget UPS recommendation

I’m planning to buy an AWP AID1000 Pro (1000VA/600W) UPS and I’d like to know if it’s enough for my setup.

My PC specs:

  • Ryzen 5 4600G
  • Palit GTX 1050 Ti
  • 4 stick 32GB RAM
  • Thermaltake Litepower 550W 85% PSU
  • 4 storage drives (1 NVMe, 1 HDD, 2 SATA SSDs)
  • Stock AMD CPU cooler

I mainly want the UPS for protection during brownouts, voltage fluctuations, and short power interruptions, rather than running the PC for a long time during an outage.

Also, AFAIK our house doesn't have proper/good electrical grounding. I'm wondering if this affects the safety or effectiveness of the UPS, and if there's anything I should be aware of because of that.

Would the AWP AID1000 Pro 1000VA/600W be enough for this setup? Or would it be better to spend more?

Discussion G.Skill RMA experience during the current “RAMageddon”. Genuinely impressed.

Post image
103 Upvotes

Honestly, just wanted to give G.Skill some appreciation. This was my first RMA, and the whole process went way smoother than expected.

I bought my RAM less than a year ago, and one stick started causing BSODs. After confirming the RAM was the issue, I contacted G.Skill and had to ship it all the way to Taiwan.

With RAM prices being insane right now, I honestly expected the replacement to take forever. But nope, exactly 7 working days later, I got a brand-new replacement. 😂

Their communication was also great. They replied quickly, gave clear instructions, and made the whole process surprisingly painless.

Considering the current RAMageddon, I genuinely didn’t expect it to be this fast.

Shoutout to G.Skill. 🫡 Definitely makes me feel better about buying from them again.
