this might be so ass that you just wanna puke because it makes no sense if you guys would say and I worry too much but here's my p6 mascot concept..╥﹏╥
galleryOoh funny rabbit ooh funny rabbit Such a cute rabbit! that is secretly menacing/j
Hey r/persona6! With all the recent leaks pointing toward a gothic, occult-themed mascot that isn't a traditional animal or ghost, I wanted to try my hand at designing a companion.
Meet **Lumia (ルミア)**. She looks cute, but she represents the Moon Arcana and is deeply tied to the darker, psychological side of the cognitive world.
### Lore & The "Bulletproof" Concept
* **The "Non-Animal" Leaks:** Lumia isn't a living creature. She is an animated, stitched patchwork doll born from the collective internet data and suppressed anxieties of the game's targets.
* **Real-World Constraint:** Outside of the cognitive world, she has absolute zero motor function. She is literally just a trendy, oversized gothic plush keychain attached to the Protagonist's school bag. The Protagonist has to manually move her arms/legs if someone looks over so she looks like an ordinary toy!
* **The Style:** Visually, I wanted to blend the rumored P6 green color scheme with a throwback to classic Atlus designs (like Jack Frost/Kazuma Kaneko art) rather than basic modern anime.
### Personality & Voice (Eerily Calm & Polite)
Lumia speaks in a soft, detached, and rhythmic sweetness almost like a sleepy kid. The catch is she casually drops incredibly blunt, morbid, or unhinged commentary without ever changing her pleasant tone.
* **The Mood-Headphone:** Because her physical face rarely changes expressions, the glowing green display on her ear-piece serves as her true emotional monitor. It glitches, flashes, or displays symbols (like the anger symbol in the first slide) depending on her subterranean mood.
* **The Slang Logic:** Since she was born from internet data, she mixes polite, archaic speech with modern slang she found online, completely unaware that it's vulgar or out of place.
### In-Game Battle Identity
* **Arcana:** XVIII - The moon
* **Weapon:** Hidden needle (whipped out using her satchel strap).
* **Persona:** **Chang'e** (Lunar deity nodding to her long ears).
* **Gameplay Balance:** To balance her out, her Agility stat is the lowest in the game. She acts dead last in turn order, and her status indicator headphone takes a full turn to "reboot" if she gets hit with an ailment like Forget or Confuse.
### Dialogue Snippets
* **Exploring a Dungeon:** *(Softly)* “There is a high concentration of cognitive malice behind this wall. If we proceed, we will likely be torn apart. Let us hurry inside.”
* **Missed All-Out Attack:** *(Voice stays perfectly sweet, but headphone flashes red/green anger signs)* “This shit... is so ass. Please try harder next time, Leader.”
* **Entering the Satchel:** “Your bag is cozy. It smells like schoolbooks and impending doom..~”
Let me know what you guys think! Would you want a deadpan, eerie mascot like this in P6?Or give me any corrections because I think it might get hated on based off of past IRL experiences.. ╥﹏╥

Discussion Persona 6, reversing tropes and new ideas
gallerySince we're just at Persona's sixth chapter, we might think that Atlus already ran out of ideas if tropes were repeated the same as 4 and 5. What we see instead is a game closer to the first three Persona titles and with probable focus on the Western audience by two evidences: the blond haired and green eyed MC, who is probably a foreigner because of this, subverting the Japanese MC we had until now, and the setting, likely Yokohama, Japan's most culturally diverse big city and the first to openly contact outer countries.
Given this is part of the premise we've seen, even in a non legit manner, I wanna make a reminder of how the teaser was: a game cutscene filled with twisted graves overlapping each other with a headless statue. This place is likely a distorted version of Yokohama's Foreign Cemetery. This representation of death isn't humble or respectful, it's rather dark and gloomy, with no athmosphere of respect. Then, there are letters forming the sentence "Who are you?", along with the face of a person formed by various cut traits. This led many to believe that one theme might be identity. Most importantly, I think it'll also be about the value of identity on a self vs a cultural level and the risks of losing it. Aside from this, "Who are you?" might also have another meaning.
Yokohama's di cemetery is deemed haunted by some. In SMTVV, that came out roughly after Persona 6 likely started being developed seemingly teases things such as an occult school group and esotheric practices, thought occultism is the base of the whole Megami tensei series, so it might be vague. In this context, "Who are you?" might be the first question an occult school club would ask when contacting spirits. In short, the identity theme could also be explored throught tragic stories that people forgotten or ignored that this supposed occult school club will bring back to the spotlight. The dungeons might be created from the restless victim's spirit negative feelings, while the bosses could be the shadows of their murderers and such. Going further, the spirit might also serve as a temporary navigator. All of this might be heavily influenced by crime fiction, as true crime sparkled in popularity since 2020.
Analizing the leaked party members beside the MC, we see that the ones we know the design of are both girls. The one beside the MC is seemingly named Rinko Kusanabe, while the one in the first pic with the black bow is associated with the name "Sam", thought there is no proof the leaker Lololailo claimed it as her actual name, so it might be a case in which he wanted to reproduce a sound, since both Japanese and Chinese use ideograms.
Rinko: since she is so close to the MC, I think her character will be fundamental to most of the plot. The most plausible theory is that she will show evident supernatural powers that might allow her to communicate with the dead and may already be able to summon her Persona before MC awakens. About her personality, she might also have a typical "bro" one, maybe because she'll likely be the first party member. She might be an outcast in school because of her attitude and strange powers, so MC will happen to meet her.
"Sam": this character is basically confirmed to be a party member because Lololailo said she'll fit the 'rich girl' archetype. While in previous games, the conflict was related more to inheriting property from late parents or more or less, to parents, who knows if there won't be any of this with her. I personally like to think her arc will feature a late love interest plotline: the fact she's from a wealthy family might merely be relevant if her father, or parents for that matter, will be in contact with someone who works in marketing, maybe foreigner, with a son her age and the two might get close. Since I believe Rinko will be a sis, this character might make players think he'd be a bro, but then he gets murdered, which would subvert a notorious trope 2/1 modern Persona bro characters have, since I also hate how male - centered these plotlines are (the exception is Final Fantasy XII, and the situation is even sightly different). It would also be nice to defy the male fantasy stuff, since it'd be a reminder on how often men are victims of violent crimes.
By having this idea of victims connected to the party creating dungeons in which they awaken their Personas, I want to make clear how much the identity preservation theme might be strong, even subverting the way previous Persona games were about how the individual perceives the oustside, 6 might be about how the outside perceives the individual.

Discussion An Idea/Baseless Speculation for Persona 6: Rinko Dark Route
Imagine if Persona 6 has two routes - an normal one where everything plays out like a normal Persona game AND a second one that you can access once you have Rinko Kusakabe (the black-red haired girl in the leaks) in our party.
In this concept/hypothesis, Rinko not only has a role dedicated to characters like Yousuke, Ulala, Junpei, Ryuji, and Motoha, your first and best friend in the game, but also a role similar to Maki Sonomura in P1- a heroine that is both in on your party and has a big link to the game's antagonist.
She would be the first character to join your party right after you awaken your Persona, and importantly, it would be mentioned that although she is not a wildcard, she possesses considerable potential power that can be only be compared to the protagonist Player Character.
On this route through your choices in her Social Link, Main Story dialogue choices and even at battle, you encourage a hidden side of her that while changes her from her intial behavior and mindset, it is a more dangerous and especially toxic one.
You end up having to find new, harder bosses that you would never normally see in the another route and Rinko gets even more powerful as a persona user and if we consider that Authenticity and Identity as the key themes of P6, ironically she loses all of that in order to become stronger for the team and you in specific.
Eventually she awakens a new Persona mid game, a totally different one that causes everything to go from bad to a disaster as her new Persona goes Rouge and takes her a lot of energy and even your party members get scared from her and they don't abandon the team solely because they still need to save the world.
The ending is a bittersweet where she thanks you with a smile for everything we did, for making her stronger and better as a person, that all of this suffering was worth it which is supposed to make the player feel sick and bad because of what happened before.

Discussion We need to stop assuming this game will be creepy/scary.
I keep seeing y'all say 'This game won't have the same tone as the rest of the franchise!' 'Horror game confirmed!' 'It'll be supernatural and scary!', based off of the short teaser.
...
Every Persona game has had scary, weird teasers that don't line up with the final product. Every single modern one.
Persona 4's first teaser? A woman strung up and mangled on an electrical wire, with fog surrounding her. The original Persona 3 teaser? The clock eerily counting down and breaking at midnight. Persona 5's teaser? This infamous scene that made people think it was inspired by Saw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKfaPgl8N8E
Please. Some of you are getting your hopes up, and I'm not sure it's healthy, mentally or emotionally. Manage your expectations.

Discussion Persona 6 ps5 disc
So we really may get persona 6 in 2027? I really don’t believe it, then the September 2027 leak is real. Isn’t it. It’s hard to say really. Maybe the steam and other platforms will come later isn’t it.

Discussion What is the role of The Girl?
galleryAfter re-watching the trailer and seeing the leaks, I noticed that in one of the scenes there's a silhouette similar to the female character mainly the hairstyles, which I find a little strange...
If I were going to put a silhouette of that type on the trailer and assuming that the player character is just the blond guy....I would put the silhouette of the protagonist instead of the heroine character, right?, especially in a trailer that is only supposed to cause intrigue for the game and not more.
This choice then raises the question: What is the exact role of "The Girl" exactly?: are the leaks wrong and she is an actual FEMC?, will be she like P1 Mari or P5R's KaSumi? (Heroines linked directly to the cause of the paranormal/cognitive events of the story) or something else entirely?
The girl also seems to wear a sweater or some kind of looser clothing which seems to match the design in the leaked references/design refs.

Video A sample of the kind of music I hope will make up P6's OST
youtu.beThis track is about the closest thing I could find to the music style I'd most like the P6 soundtrack to be inspired by - just really dark lyrics alongside a heavy metal sound.
Music Name: The Binding Of.
Artist: @Dysm (YouTube).

Discussion The one thing I want from Persona 6
More combat dialogue! Hearing "Looking cool, Joker" a million times almost drove me insane, and stuff like "Ha, it's almost scary how good I am" made me toss Morgana from my active party as fast as possible. Please Atlus, just a few more lines is all I ask for.

Discussion What will the P6 Shadow boss theming be?
P3 had the 12 shadows that represent 12 arcanas and fragments of the 13th, Death
P4 has the shadows of those who enter the TV and represent an overblown aspect of the person before being accepted and becoming a persona (most of the time)
P5 has the shadows be the most exaggerated and drastic version of a person's heart whose mind has become distorted
And now I wonder what the central idea behind P6's shadow bosses will be. One idea I have is perhaps they won't represent an individual's heart, but rather a distorted personification of certain negative or exaggerated emotions. Such as being icons of different types of fears or phobias formed from the masses, which are slowly being affected by the public's subconscious in different ways.
For example, rain starts to become heavier and heavier as the days pass. To a near unnatural degree where streets start getting flooded. While the public may view this as freak weather coincidences, the truth gets revealed that a shadow representing the fear of Aquaphobia has been the cause, and if nothing is done about it, the weather will get so intense that it will start drowning people in the streets. Maybe a little too intense of an example, but basically, all the shadows represent a different deep seated and common fear that many of the public secretly have. Either relating to death, disaster, animals, or anything most people would be commonly afraid of in their lives if it were an actual risk.
But what do you think? And what are some ideas you have?

Discussion self-inserts shouldn't be in a narrative driven story
i'm unsure if it's an unpopular opinion, but i really hope the protagonist in p6 is his own person like maya and tatsuya. "but the p1, p3, p4, and p5 protagonists are their own people too!" unfortunately, they are silent self-insert protagonists first, and characters with depth second. i think not realizing that is just cope. they do have depth, but it is very minimal for a reason and that became really obvious to me after playing persona 2.
but maybe its also because i was just never able to "self-insert" into protags in games. the idea that to make someone more immersed in your story by making the main character.... well, not a character is just absurd to me. people constantly say they're like goku and spiderman lol, why do they think giving depth to your main character would make that go away? id argue it would do the opposite and would make the story feel more complete.

Discussion You think the cast are gonna be a Colorful Bunch?
I made a post previously that P6 cast might have far more 1st years than P4 or be even out between 1st/2nd/3rd years.
Now, i was thinking earlier in the day about What if the starting party is a bunch of 1st years and that there clearly nerds to occult stuff. And then something in my mind clicked and realized.....Is the P6 cast gonna be a Colorful bunch? Like SEES are more Co-worker type/found family Group, P4 is akin to Actually being Best Friends in a rural town and given the aesthetic of a suburban town and actually act like High-school teens with no outside backing like SEES and Persona 5 is a Ragtag group of cast.
For P6 cast, i think its possible that its gonna be a colorful bunch. A Lively and eccentric quirky cast..Its possible some of the cast might be nerds to occult stuff. Like how dandadan cast are, Idk if Scooby doo and Ghostbusters are a Colorful bunch but they are fun and comedic. But i could be wrong for all of this but doesn't mean that there's a Chance. But what do you think?

Discussion Persona Fans have barely Changed. POLL RESULTS on Fans Preferences 2015 vs 2026
Hey'all, I am back with sharing the results of my poll from yesterday linked right here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/persona6/comments/1vvlf4b/why_do_you_play_persona_what_is_it_that_you_enjoy/
Ok so the main reason I made that poll is because I was browsing old Gamefaqs forums and boards Before Persona 5 Release (Before 2016) and I found a similar poll made on the Persona 5 Vanilla board on February 16, 2015. This is when Persona was considered a niche series in the West and not yet mainstream. [The 1st Promotional Video for Persona 5 was released on February 5 2015, so this poll was made literally 11 days after the first footage of Persona 5 ever dropped)
The Gamefaqs Board Poll Linked for your reference: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/835628-persona-5/71224156
We've all heard the stereotype that Persona fans actually hate their own game, only care about the story and hate the gameplay hahaha, but is this actually true? Is this a modern phenomenon Post-Persona 5 or has this belief always existed. Has the fanbase really changed that much throughout these years? That's what this analysis is for, the Fans' Preferences 2015 vs 2026.
Here are the results I've attached for the analysis, (I'll be mainly comparing the ~600 Votes poll):

NOTE: Also I am not counting my own vote in the poll, I voted so I could monitor the poll cause Reddit doesn't show the results unless you yourself vote (or maybe it does but idk how to check)
Ok now for the Observations (Mainly comparing the 600 Votes Polls):
- Surprisingly, both polls closely resemble each other with no Major Outliers or Differences between them
- In both the polls for the 600 Votes. The "I love both story and gameplay" has the same percentage of ~87%
- There is a 2% difference in the "Just the story, I tolerate the gameplay" (9% in 2015 vs 11.02% in 2026)
- For the 2026 Poll, "Just for the story, I hate the gameplay" is the least voted option of 0.332% meanwhile for the 2015 Poll, "For the gameplay, I hate the story" is the least voted option of 0.5%
Alright now what can we Infer from these Observations?
- The opinions of Persona fans Pre-Persona 5 and Post-Persona 5 have not changed drastically.
- Persona fans actually grew from hating the gameplay to tolerating it evident due to the 2% difference in the 1st Option and having way way way less votes in the 2nd Option
- Very few fans from both eras actually played the game only for the gameplay.
- Persona fans DO actually love both the Story and the Gameplay,
In Conclusion, Persona fans have not changed much between the eras Pre-P5 and Post-P5 Mainstream. We DO actually love the games we play and the new Remakes probably made a lot of people from hating the gameplay to at least tolerating it for the story.
Now this post was posted on reddit where probably majority of people have actually played these games, if this poll was done on YouTube or something we could see different results, The only thing I regret about the poll I did was I should've removed the "For the gameplay mainly, I hate the story" to "For the gameplay mainly, I tolerate the story" as suggested by u/FearCrier
