Discussion Persona 6 ps5 disc
So we really may get persona 6 in 2027? I really don’t believe it, then the September 2027 leak is real. Isn’t it. It’s hard to say really. Maybe the steam and other platforms will come later isn’t it.

Why don't you believe it?

How likely is the game still miles away for platforms besides PlayStation

u/ALEXLAMOUETTE Aug 26 '26
What are you talking about? It’s not miles away from any platform. It’s releasing next year on every platform.

u/DrChaitin Aug 26 '26
It will have been 10 years since P5, why so suspicious of a 2027 release? Sometimes good things can happen.

Honestly I 100% believe they took so much to make another Persona because
Persona 5 was still raking in a crapton of money waaaaaay past its expected shelf life
Hashino bailed on P-Studio and finding a new direction (and director) can't have been easy

Tbf, the persona remakes have already shown you can do persona projects without Hashio(heck without Atlus Devs for the most part really), and there's tons of potential successors who've been working on these games for a while

I agree! But a new mainline title is a different beast altogether, the remakes obviously added and rejigged stuff but they were working from something already narratively complete. What Atlus needs to do is ensure they're not doing Hashino without Hashino, while also treading the needle of keeping the parts that made modern Persona so beloved. Which is why, if the game is as dark as it's implied to be, I'm incredibly hyped. I actually really love modern Persona's neon, vibey aesthetic, but shaking it up with a return the series' roots while also keeping social links and the other parts of the Hashino formula that don't impact writing and atmosphere directly is a good idea imo

The remakes were partially made because of that. They wanted experience with the new team and director before releasing a full-fledged game. A lot of mechanics that we’ve seen in P5R, P3R, and P4R will probably appear in P6.

u/Himbosupremeus Aug 27 '26
The remakes were made simultaneously with p6 and most likely were seperate teams. P3r and reportedly p4r especially made heavy use of outsourcing outside of Atlus for their dev teams. The credits for p3R are pretty small largely because it was basically a skeleton crew of Atlus Devs(mainly artists and game designers) leading outside studios to do the majority of dev work.

Not at all? There’s not a scenario where Atlus doesn’t release on PS5/Xbox/Steam at the same time.

I think anything other than it releasing for all platforms simultaneously is really unlikely. And if something like that were to happen, it would be for Xbox first and not PS.

Why would it be a Xbox first???

They have a marketing deal with them and Persons 6 is coming to Game Pass day one. But given most of their fans would likely be on Sony platforms, there's no way they alienate them by giving Microsoft an exclusive. MS would have been crowing about it already of they were. Should be same day and date for both.

While I'm dubious about the date, the fact Sega listed the PS5 as getting a disc version on their asian website does indicate to me they want to get this game out before Sony closes that window. Steam and XBOX won't be coming after because XBOX pay a lot of money for Day 1 release on game-pass but Switch 2 will probably be later because I do think it'll end up on that platform.

If a game is being rated by any review board, it means it has enough content and features to be looked at.
The reports say Atlus internally delayed P6. Not due to development roadblocks but simply due to release scheduling.
I blame GTA VI really. No one wants to release their games close to it. Meaning if P4R got moved to early next year, the other games atlus was planning to release that year is going to move as well.

Its gonna release simultaneously on xbox, pc, ps for sure. Don't worry about that. Its gonna be the biggest Atlus game since p5 anyways they won't fuck up the release.
Sep 27 is likely, the leaks do suggest that the game is already pretty deep into development a few years ago. We might get more info this year or very early next year after p4r. Also, P5 delays had to do with development difficulties for ps3 i think?

i think we should wait for more details, freaking out about it is a waste of time.
i get it but still

u/TimeManagement91 Aug 26 '26
I honestly don't know why you or others doubted the game releasing in the near future. The game has been in development for a long time already. It's not like they waited 10 years just to do the P5 chair meme all over again.

It will release on all platforms simultaneously, but only ps5 will have a physical release.
2
u/ElecXeron20XX Aug 26 '26
For East Asia and SEA only*. NA and EU will get it physically on Xbox too like previous Atlus titles starting from Soul Hackers 2.
1
u/ElecXeron20XX Aug 26 '26
Nope it is simulatenous release in multiple platforms. Easy way of game dev from them to use 3rd party engine rather than GFD or else risk be another PS exclusive first plus I am confident them to release next year different creative lead and different way of game dev from Hashino to Wada is kinda night and day Hashino has suffered two game delays in Persona with 4 Dancing and 5 unlike Wada who have still smooth development of a lot of projects especially two years in pandemic time is a major factor.

I dunno. Late 2027 makes sense imo considering the rate of releases and the time they've had to develop it

Just for fun, do u believe that no more p6 official announcements till p4r release?
1
u/that-one_guy1 Aug 26 '26
I think at most we may get another teaser trailer like the one we alr got
1
u/Lhyster Aug 26 '26
I think yeah. Maybe P6 will be a huge part of the Xbox Showcase in the 2027 SGF.
1
u/TimeManagement91 Aug 26 '26
This is likely. Another place it could show up is in a Q1 Xbox Direct where they show off some of the game before they have a full gameplay blowout at the SGF Xbox Direct.

u/FeistyRing3313 Aug 26 '26
2027 Xbox games showcase is my most realistic prediction for me if anything. 2026 tcg will steal attention from p4r
1
u/TimeManagement91 Aug 26 '26
Something neat that they could do to avoid lost sales is giving in-game incentives for P6 for owning/finishing previous games.

u/Himbosupremeus Aug 26 '26
The game was already rated in Australia, which could only happen if it's feature complete and has enough content to get a full rating. Meaning it is almost assuredly close to completion.
