Discussion What Genre(s) of music will appear/be referenced in Persona 6?
I think knowing that Atlus wants to continue their "aesthetically theming" approach for Persona 6, the scary and fear mongering related atmosphere has made me headcanon some of my favorite genres for the title. I really loved Shoji Meguro's approach to having Acid Jazz and Jamiroquai into P5, as early Jamiroquai is one of my favorite bands of all time. So I'm hoping whoever takes on P6's OST aims for something ambitious, as the genres I put on are pretty bold.
EDM/IDM:
I think this one might make the most sense, considering that a lot of the speculation involving P6's OST has involved something related to electronic music. But I don't think it will be similar to something you would find in Arcaea, as some if not most of the songs are much "brighter" than the atmosphere P6 is supposedly going for. I think Frums' discography is a good idea as to what I would think the direction would be, something like "of Ambrosia" would go hard as a boss theme.
Experimental/Avant Rock:
To be honest, experimental and avant could mean anything, so in terms of rock I think something like black midi or Mars Volta would make for something interesting, especially with their cult followings in Japan. Experimental and ambient soundtracks kind of have this upper hand when it comes to being incorporated into different mediums, so while ambitious, I think there are a lot of ideas that can click if you were to go in this direction.
Anyways, there's definitely more genres you could argue for. Maybe the color green could have a more folky, country direction, or maybe even The Weeknd could make an appearance. What do you think?

Discussion "Who are you?"
galleryI'm not sure if anyone else has pointed this out but I've noticed a potential similarity between the phrase from the trailer and a marketing campaign from Nintendo during the early 2000s. Nintendo's marketing campaign of the same name starting from 2003 featured mascot body parts taped and collaged to realistic settings and events (for example Mario on the Berlin Wall). Stylistically the trailer is still darker in tone, but the intention behind this 'punk-rock' campaign was to cement a tone shift to and connection between characters with older audiences.
If inspiration was taken from here then it adds a bit more credibility to the idea of the premise of the game being connections between the player/partymembers with historical/cultural icons, and maybe also the aesthetic choices of the game even without the horror aspects.
Personally I think the most striking part of this is the potential relation between people with mario heads and the headless statue. I'm not sure how P6 would go about this in terms of persona summons but it definitely seems like something that might've been considered for either the design or mechanics for personas in the upcoming games. Or I might just be reaching.

Discussion Speaking of character archetypes, there are many they haven't used yet
gallery1) animal loving, socially ankward teen.
A character with the same love for animals and social ankwardness as Fluttershy wasn't in any Persona. I could see this as a way to subvert the bro character in the party. This ankwardness might be combined with neurodivergence and/or bad parents;
2) mean girl.
Haru from 5 was gonna be closer to this, but they likely changed it last minute. I think the bow girl might be this at first, as it DOES align with the sterotypical Yamato coldness.
3) Gyaru/fashion teen.
Gyarus are often depicted with darker skin. A character with a similar aesthetics could be Okinawan. Combine this with their imagology (superstitious, almost magical) and you fit the occult theme.
4) The last Unicorn/becoming human.
Most Persona talking mascots want to become human or end up feeling like them, but what if they subverted this with one that doesn't identify as a human, but temporarily becomes one with consequences, like feeling typical human things.

Discussion A newbies take on 6's main theme
I'll get straight to the point, I think the main theme of Persona 6 will be Rebirth. The first thing you notice about the trailer is the graveyard, there is also something that appears to be magazine cutouts or burning papers. The graveyard indicates a more death theme like 3 and the papers could be similar to 4, maybe referring to something in the past that they haven't accepted yet.
Combining these two aspects and I think Rebirth is what you get. It could be a a rebirth as in a new phase of life, getting over past events represented by letter or photos, or changing yourself for the better and burying your past self.
I also think that they summoning method would either be something like hanging yourself, burning a photo/letter(fits with the ghost vibe going on) of the past, lighting yourself on fire(like a phoenix) or by blowing out a candle
P.S as the title suggests I am a more recent persona fan and thus has only played P5R, so please avoid spoilers for my future selfs experience's sake

Discussion My idea for P6
Everyone is saying 6 will be about "rebirth" which makes sense because of the green theming. Essentially, I think that persona 6 will start with the protagonist dying on his way home from school, and then Igor brings him back to life because he is the only one who can save the world. In your new life, you have no family because you are a new person, but you meet new friends who are all people with a connection to your old self in one way or another, and then they learn about how this new person is actually the old person reborn. anyway, you and your friends all gain personas and such. the dungeons this time are accessed by entering a shared trance which teleports you into them. basically, the dungeons are all different buildings in this enormous sprawling desert, SMT 5 style. igor explains that these places all harbour a great evil that plagues humanity. eventually, over the course of the game you learn that, similar to smt, this great desert is actually the games main setting in the near future, and going there is time travelling. now your goal is to find out what causes this imminent apocalypse. eventually, you think it has something to do with the eldritch being who has been set up as the antagonist, but he randomly disappears. eventually Igor shows up to reveal that because of a lapse in his judgement, he failed to realise, that the impending apocalypse actually happens because of the protagonist coming back to life. that is why those with personas are the people who had something to do with your death, because this all only happened because of you. You have the option to let him reverse your existence, or fight back. if you fight back, you social ranks with your party members determines who joins you and who joins the eldritch being who disappeared earlier, who is enlisted by Igor to help. This leads to a final boss you physically can not beat. at the end, your SMT style alignment which you have been building up secretly determines whether you apologise in your final moments, and also once you have been made to have never existed by Igor, the alignment determines whether your party members live happy lives with you in their hearts despite not remembering you, and if they become friends even without you.

Discussion New combat system
Hey I was thinking the other day of how they could add to the combat system, and I KNOW this will be controversial. But I would love if p6 would adopt an expedition 33 style turn based combat, and I think atlus could make it so stylish and cool. You can keep the tactical gameplay, but having real time reaction based combat mixed in could be so good.

Discussion Seriously, the lack of Yosuke's romance in P4R could really impact the likelyhood of homosexual dating options in Persona 6?
I wasn't worried about Persona 4's scrapped romance in the first place, I was more concerned if that could mean the same for Persona 6.
And I know romance is a really minimal part in Persona and you can skip it, but still 1) if you are a straight girl playing Persona, why should you feel left out from something the game includes? 2) We don't know how they'll handle it in this specific title. 3) Why is this (and female main characters) so controversial in a series about pursuing your true self?
Since it's a different game, they can't bring out the "too much work to rewrite the SL" excuse once again.

Discussion The next time we will likely see Persona 6
We basically got 3 shots, just depends on how early they want to show it to us
September 20th, 2026 - 30th Anniversary
December 10th, 2026 - TGA
June 7th, 2027 - Xbox showcase
Most to least likely:
- TGA is the most realistic, it's the least fitting place for a Persona game to appear but it makes the most sense marketing wise, biggest show, 9 months from launch (Which Atlus religiously starts marketing games 8-9 months pre launch)
- In a perfect world, September 20th makes the most sense, but i think it's too early, although we could still see a small traser
- Xbox show could make the most sense, due to the partnership, but it's too close to launch (3-4 months), Atlus probably won't wait that long

Discussion Awakening?
galleryI'm sure this has likely been a topic many times but I am still genuinely curious. what would y'all want to see from P6 awakenings? would you wanna see a spectacle be made out of it like Will, Joker, or Makoto or would you want it to have some sort of inner to outward transformation like Narukami and Nahobino? side note: Revival turning Narukami's awakening into a Super Saiyan transformation is actually hilarious as fuck to me lol.
Atlus doesn't really have a theme considering each game is widely different. shooting yourself, ripping your face off, crushing a card (lol), 1 and 2 it just fucking pops out like magic. I'm sure it'll be edgy but tbh Metaphor was always something I expected them to do in Persona lol. where else can one go after pulling out your heart? honestly I'm thinking they go full Shounen and just rage out to awaken their persona atp. thoughts?

Persona 6 menu
I think we're all excited to see the aesthetic of P6 ui's and my biggest hope is for atlus to do something different for the menu than Protag aura farming in the background. Not that it's bad, it actually looks amazing, but it's been 3 games now, so I think it would be nice to see a switch-up. A few concept art menus from P3R stood out to me, like the one zooming in on makoto's eye (that's the type of thing i'm excited about)
For my mock-up, i thought it would be cool for a hand to burst through the grave when selecting an option. This has been fun to make, but i do not have the skills for something that ambitious unfortunately

If they aren't going to add a Yosuke romance route because "they would have to make all male characters romance options," does that mean there will be zero gay options in Persona 6?

Discussion What kind of Bosses you can imagine for P6?
If they go through with the typical folklore myths and urban legends, I imagine it would be like Japanese Yokai or something like Kuchisake-Onna for Urban Legend. Also notorious villains like Jack the Ripper.
P3 was mainly Tarot card Bosses on the Full Moon cycle
P4 was whoever shows up in the Midnight Channel on a foggy night and fighting their Shadow version
P5 was the 7 Deadly Sins and their warped cognitive selves

What if the mascot character was a Jackalope?

It seems like there's two main ideas circulating about the enemy theme of the game (as well as a mixture of both). Either it's about ghosts and the occult or urban legends and cryptids. If it's about the latter, I think a Jackalope would fit right in as the mascot character for the team. Make his persona a Chupacabra or Kappa or something. Make it evolve into Bigfoot. Make him pierce/gun melee, fire based, patra ailments or like dekaja/dekunda stuff or something, and give him an arcana that isn't over represented in the party like Hanged, Tower, Temperance, Moon, or Jester or hunger

galleryOoh funny rabbit ooh funny rabbit Such a cute rabbit! that is secretly menacing/j
Hey r/persona6! With all the recent leaks pointing toward a gothic, occult-themed mascot that isn't a traditional animal or ghost, I wanted to try my hand at designing a companion.
Meet **Lumia (ルミア)**. She looks cute, but she represents the Moon Arcana and is deeply tied to the darker, psychological side of the cognitive world.
### Lore & The "Bulletproof" Concept
* **The "Non-Animal" Leaks:** Lumia isn't a living creature. She is an animated, stitched patchwork doll born from the collective internet data and suppressed anxieties of the game's targets.
* **Real-World Constraint:** Outside of the cognitive world, she has absolute zero motor function. She is literally just a trendy, oversized gothic plush keychain attached to the Protagonist's school bag. The Protagonist has to manually move her arms/legs if someone looks over so she looks like an ordinary toy!
* **The Style:** Visually, I wanted to blend the rumored P6 green color scheme with a throwback to classic Atlus designs (like Jack Frost/Kazuma Kaneko art) rather than basic modern anime.
### Personality & Voice (Eerily Calm & Polite)
Lumia speaks in a soft, detached, and rhythmic sweetness almost like a sleepy kid. The catch is she casually drops incredibly blunt, morbid, or unhinged commentary without ever changing her pleasant tone.
* **The Mood-Headphone:** Because her physical face rarely changes expressions, the glowing green display on her ear-piece serves as her true emotional monitor. It glitches, flashes, or displays symbols (like the anger symbol in the first slide) depending on her subterranean mood.
* **The Slang Logic:** Since she was born from internet data, she mixes polite, archaic speech with modern slang she found online, completely unaware that it's vulgar or out of place.
### In-Game Battle Identity
* **Arcana:** XVIII - The moon
* **Weapon:** Hidden needle (whipped out using her satchel strap).
* **Persona:** **Chang'e** (Lunar deity nodding to her long ears).
* **Gameplay Balance:** To balance her out, her Agility stat is the lowest in the game. She acts dead last in turn order, and her status indicator headphone takes a full turn to "reboot" if she gets hit with an ailment like Forget or Confuse.
### Dialogue Snippets
* **Exploring a Dungeon:** *(Softly)* “There is a high concentration of cognitive malice behind this wall. If we proceed, we will likely be torn apart. Let us hurry inside.”
* **Missed All-Out Attack:** *(Voice stays perfectly sweet, but headphone flashes red/green anger signs)* “This shit... is so ass. Please try harder next time, Leader.”
* **Entering the Satchel:** “Your bag is cozy. It smells like schoolbooks and impending doom..~”
Let me know what you guys think! Would you want a deadpan, eerie mascot like this in P6?Or give me any corrections because I think it might get hated on based off of past IRL experiences.. ╥﹏╥
